The Last Of Us Part 1 - Improvements Listed

The lack of actually new content is really off-putting. No new areas, no new characters. Like a director's cut I'd approve of. But the PS4 version already looks great and at this point I know the story to a T. New shiny graphics are nice but they don't make a game. I don't think it's aimed at people like me. Pretty much it's there to sell PS5 copies to people who didn't play the games thus far but will be drawn into the series by the television adaptation.
Once we see the improvements from 2 in the gameplay it will make sense. They'd probably need to modify the layouts to accommodate for them.

"it's barely noticeable"

I feel like I'm going to bump some posts once we start to have actual gameplay footage lmao

I hope/think you're right. I'd be foolish to doubt Naughty Dog and what they could potentially accomplish with this remake but I don't think the announcement trailer went far enough.

Eh this theory doesn't sound legit to me. Even if TLOU show is a critical/commercial hit, is there data to support decent number of TV viewers will become sooo entrenched by the show that they decide to find and purchase a PS5 to play the game??? Games and movies are two very distinct mediums and I don't think an amazing show will do much to convert TV watchers into gamers.

PC version will be worth it for the gameplay improvements alone. I beat RDR2 and Days Gone on PS4 Pro. Still had way more fun playing them again on PC. Framerate and mouse aiming made an enormous difference.

I just wish these improvements were available a few years ago.
TLOU is a great game, but now I know the story I dont feel compelled to go back. Its kinda like watching a movie or series, you u finished you probably wont return to it in a while. My TLOU play through is still fresh in my mind.

The people who have not played it though are in for a treat though.

Was hoping for some new interesting content, this doesn’t sound worth the price if you’ve already played it.

An Overpriced, joke remade. I thought they would implement Raytracing mode, but nope, this confirms this game doesn't have Raytracing. Of all studios, I thought ND would have the true PS5 engine which extracts all of PS5's juices, by now.
Really disappointing. This is just a disgusting cash grab and rip-off from Naive Fans.

You don't need data for something like that, it's plain as day that people explore entertainment brands after they're introduced to them and like them. I do it. People I know do it. People I don't know do it.

Hmmm, if theres no new story segments Im gonna wait till sale. Not sure yet, will probably end up buying it Day 1.

Also is the enermy Ai finally as good as what the original gameplay showed back in 2012/2013?

Well, I played the original on PS3 then the remaster on PS4 so it depends how much they put into this and how ridiculous they’ll price this. So will wait and see.

I am not a speedrunner, but this is just the most amazing feature that every game should have. I like watching speedruns and one of the games I watch frequently is Resident Evil 3 Remake, but they need to mod the game to skip the first section of the game. Or there are other games that don't let you skip cutscenes or have long boring segments that are basically without gameplay but you need to sit through for 4-5 minutes.
Really good addition there.

Great to see Naughty Dog offering options that go even beyond what good PC developers do.

Also excited about new animations, gameplay, enemy A.I., DualSense features integration and also fast loading + 60fps. Awesome.

I enjoy this game and I've bought it twice already......hard to get excited about buying it again.I may play it one day when it's cheap in a sale(if I ever manage to get a PS5).

This remake is not going to change the story, characters, or gameplay, so I'll give it a pass until it's dirt cheap and worth it, just to see the graphical upgrade.

But it's The Last Of Us. Again.

A game I've already completed four times.

The remake is just to get sonys best selling Franchise to PC.... This Releasing first on PS5 is just so Sony-Fans aren't going rampage....

Yes and no.

Yes, as in, they couldn't fucking port a 10 year old game to PC, let's be honest. And if Sony wants to bring TLOU2 in the future, why not bringing the first one first? These PC ports are easy money, tons of people double dip so why not?

But also, no, this is not only for PC. There's going to be a TLOU HBO series and it's going to be huge. Do you want to play the game? Buy a PS5. It's going to be the same for Factions.

I also think the fact that PC ports come later isn't just a matter of making them wait to make more money. They develop the game for one platform and then move to the new one. Everybody is happy since the quality remains high.

This is also my understanding. PS3 games are quite dated nowadays so to grab PC crowd's attention something had to be done.

I'm far from excited when it comes to playing TLOU 1 for the next time, but I'll probably do it regardless as it's one of my favorites and upgrades seems quite impressive. I also kind of hoped it would be day1 playstation plus extra release, but it's a sony I guess.

I will buy it but not on full price. There will be a ps premium trial right? I wonder how far can I go in the game if I have one hour. Funny but I'm starting my ps3 platinum run on this week. Mostly I need survivor + and some collectible (I played lot of factions so the servers shutdown wont affect me)

Am disappointed with the price, will wait for that to come down.

Looks like it will sell bucket loads though.

I imagine most of the assets already exist thanks to TLOU2 and if you are releasing on PC too may as well put your best foot forward.

The price is crazy imo but people will pay it so if you are Sony why not?

I will buy this game... eventually... but I am not hugely excited for it to be honest. I've already bought the game twice; first on PS3 then the remaster on PS4 which still plays and looks fine on the PS5 in my opinion. Not sure what the thinking was behind releasing the game yet again but it will sell regardless.

Yeah, I'm kind of relaxed towards these remaster/remakes. No one forces me to buy any of these, and the existence doesn't destroy the orginial ones. I can still play them, if I want to. I'm just not that hyped for this remake...

I think the Witcher 3 saw a massive sales increase when the show came out, so yeah there's precedent

Idk, I loved the first game but I'm a little over playing it again even with enhanced graphics/environment/gameplay because I played it 3 times on PS3, and 2 times on PS4. Maybe one day I play it on PS5 or PC but I will probably wait for what modders can do with it.

It's a great game for anyone who didn't have the chance to experience it yet.

The most unnecessary remake of all time, what next? Uncharted 4 remake for 2025? Wouldn't be surprise if it was Jimbo or hermen idea.

ND could have remade Jake or event Uncharted 1, but no let's remake one of our newest game we've released in the last years. Should have put resources on something else, maybe Factions 2 would be out by now if they didn't waste their time with this unnecessary remake.

Not gonna change story and characters but they'll add part 2 gameplay and add new animations in.

Curious about the IA, hopefully it's gonna be an improvement over tlou2 and not exactly the same.

Also, do they are gonna upgrade the gore and violence even more?

I guess people having a hard time on this because... fanboys.

If you enter in the old RE4 remake rumor thread, you gonna get a bunch of hypocrites.

Even remake old UC games would make sense at this point. Those games play very bad in those days.

Anw, they can't ask for new IPs now.

Yeah I heard Jimbo is now a game director at Naughty Dog.

I was hoping to hear about:
  • 21:9 Support / Resolution Agnostic
  • Both DLSS and FSR 2.0 Support
Maybe when they preview the PC version...

In my mind, they did this for two reasons:

1) Easy money

2) Trying to salvage the damage to the reputation that TLOU 2 did to the franchise.

Wished they spent that time and money to new games and IPs but alas, here we are.
