I get why people are excited for the game and want to buy it. It's a great game and I'm going to buy it too. I just finished the 2nd one a few days back. I thought it was fuckin excellent. Do I want to go back and play the new one with a graphics patch? Fuck yes I do. I'll buy it on day 1. That don't mean it's worth $70. Nothing I've seen justifies that price tag, and nothing anyone can say is going to change my opinion on it.

its a new game for some ppl, i wasnt going to buy it for 70€ but i failed and had to pre-order it 3rd time :P

I was being sarcastic. It is not anywhere near the 70$ price. This should've been a 20$ upgrade for the remaster.

The argument was always that it doesn't look much better than tlou2 not the remaster.

The few times i heard someone saying that the remaster was better was always related to characters looking way older in the remake and some facial expression being different but not inherently worse, so more of a nostalgia\being used to something than a graphical comparison...also the blonde child looking like a fucking alien now:lollipop_grinning_sweat:

You people are creating a false narrative to win a false argument since 99% of comparisons with pics etc was always with tlou2 in mind, of fucking course it looks miles better than the remaster, only a fucking moron would say differently.

Really would have preffered for ND to remake the first Uncharted instead

Well known brand, got a movie released this year, and the first game seriously looks and plays old

I was referencing this post from the previous page. Saying it's just a "resolution bump" and that "most people can't see a difference between it and the previous version." How is that creating a false narrative? He's the one that made the claim. C'mon now.

Oh but that is a last minute thing and from one maybe 2 persons, the real narrative on gaf in the past months against the remake was that it doesn't look majorly better than tlou2 (also the lack of dogde\prone etc.), my bad for misunderstanding anyway.

The remake is clearly far more than a res bump from the remaster.

Naughty Dog have crafted the coffee cups better this time round, the moss looks even better on PS5. There's not going to be any surprises here.
 
I'll never understand the hate for this game. This is the only game where people have debated it's right to exist lol, ad nauseam I might add. If you think it's too soon to remake the game just don't buy it. If you think $70 is too much for Sony to charge just don't buy it, at least not at that price.

You're not required to buy any game from any company at all. Don't whine and bitch about the game, vote with your wallet. If Sony made a mistake with this game, then they'll find out soon enough.
 
I just can't pay this much for a game I'll complete In a weekend. I just played it like 9 months ago too.

Absolute classis and it will be in my library as soon as I can get it for like 30 aquid or less. Shouldn't be too long I don't think on disk.

Yeah. If Sony weren't so Goddamned greedy they'd put it out for $10 for anyone who already owns the last remaster. I don't actually blame 'em. I guess I'd do the same if I knew I could charge 70 bucks for a patch and have a bunch of loons praise me for it.

this is a completely different sku to the PS4 remastered version. a different game. you're gonna buy the game again and you're gonna like it.


or just be patient. Sony games are literally some of the fastest games to go on sale.

But it is kinda unfair to look at a studio that continuously delivers and their last game was just released 2 years ago and it was the pinnacle of the previous generation smashing everything else and then to expect them to have something ready in 2 years while most other studios deliver much much less.

The first step people have to do is to realize that going from 1080p 30fps last gen to 4k 60fps this gen will already devour most of the performance gains from the new hardware. Final Fantasy 9 PS1 to Final Fantasy 10 PS2 is not going to happen again.

Also where are all the magical PC exclusive RTX only games that blow everything out of the water by the factor 5 with the 3090 or soon the 4090?

From what I have seen in those trailers so far it looks like TLOU Part 1 Remake is the new king. I need to see for myself in real life on a big TV and not on a youtube video for final judgement since I have pretty good comparisons recently with Forza Horizon 5 on a 3090 on a 77'' LG OLED.

Blame greed, last gen engines, budget, talent, cross gen…UE5 and Unity shows what these new consoles can do…old engine's aren't pumping enough graphical features to make CGI visuals…CGI by nature has high geometric density and GI solutions…Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart pumped way more geometry over a PS4 game and thats what gave it a CGI like look…but it still used old methods of rendering compared to something like Unreal Engine 5…The Matrix Awakens demo looked CGI and at times indistinguishable from reality due to it's infinite geometric detail and lumen…

Edit: 1440p upscaled via DLSS or other similar method is good enough…native 4K is unnecessary this generation imo…30 fps or 60 fps is fine for console…4k wastes resources…also if a game was designed exclusively for a 3090 or 4090 it would look like a PS6 game literally…we are talking 8x PS5 rendering performance…it would literally look like CGI in real time.
