So random ass comments are now considered memes?

The comment came at perfect dumb timing and somehow became the 60fps fuel for the excitement leading up until next Tuesday.

It's tasteless and immature, but it sure has had it's fuckin moments. I don't mind it one bit.

I'm not arguing with you by the way =P

I didn't say it was a meme, but it feels like it's being forced into meme territory. It was indeed a random ass comment, and then people ran with it, as they are want to do on the internet.

With that said, it's perfectly fine that people are enjoying it. Just like it's perfectly fine that I don't get the humor in it. And I'm the kind of guy that loves shit like South Park, which is full of retarded, gross, immature humor. I just don't find this particular gag funny. *shrugs* GAF has some incredible moments of hilarity for me, but sorry, this one is just a swing and a miss for me, personally.

Who's doing the OT for this? Is it going up tomorrow?

I don't know but the mods should somehow just make this thread the OT. Just change the title or something and put all the remastered information in the opening post.

That way we've already cut the bullshit, and can just talk about the game. If that ever happens. Haha.

Am I the only one who doesn't really get this "I wish I could play it for the first time again" feeling?

I really don't. I'm fine with replaying and enjoying the additional content like dev commentary, exploring new difficulty settings and playing around with the gameplay.

I think great games are usually the ones you want to play again, not wish you could forget because it's not the same anymore.

It's great to follow the story again even though I already know it, being able to connect the dots and think more about the game, being able to view things from different points and form new opinions, engage in conversation about the narrative and the morality of that world and characters, I think all those things are part of a great experience, and I wouldn't want to lose that just so I can be surprised by things again.

I'm fine with all of this as well, but there's something very special about the first playthrough of great games that just can never be recaptured a second time.

I don't necessarily envy that people are playing this for the first time with the Remastered edition - it's more just that I am sad that I'll never be able to relive that experience I had when I didn't know what would happen next.

Dude, I'm so jealous!!

This will be your first time playing TLOU? I didn't know that.

You are going to fucking love it! If you don't love it, I will refund you the price you paid for the game, that's how confident I am. XD

It's your first time? Oh man, be careful when inserting that disc.

There's only game I've felt I would love to erase my memory and start again, BioShock.

I'm really hoping TLOU is the next one. Its strange how I missed out on ND's PS3 games after loving the J&D games.

I agree, it's definitely different and very special. But I'm ok with not experiencing that again. It's also special to think about and discuss about the story and the ending, it's also special to replay it and remember how you felt when playing for the first time. One of the reasons the ending is so amazing is how it provokes thought and generates discussion. The fact that it's very different from what you'd expect in this kind of work is also important, but it can still be appreciated even after you know about it and can't be surprised by it anymore.

All the great discussions about The Last of Us that require you to have experienced the whole game are also part of the whole thing, and I wouldn't trade all the amazingly articulated opinions, all the interviews and convention things I've read and watched, the great discussions I've been a part of, like talking about Hobbes' view on society and how it applies to the world in The Last of Us, discussing morality, questioning yourself on how far you would go in those situations, this is all part of what makes this game so amazing. I wouldn't want to lose all that just so I can be surprised again.

Even the actual game, new game + is great, having unlockable difficulties is great, experimenting with the combat scenarios now that you already know them is great. I honestly don't feel like I'm missing anything. The fact that I can still be compelled while playing this even after playing it multiple times is part of what makes it great, I don't need to forget anything. I don't want to.

I should say, though, nothing against people who feel that way, I don't think you're wrong or anything. It's just that I've seen this as a very common opinion, so when I ask "am I the only one?", I really want to know if more people would agree with me and maybe that sentiment is not as common as it seems to be.

Is a weird and awesome at the same time feeling that although I do know know that this is some kind of third person shooter and all but I have absolutly no idea how is designed, how the levels are structured, what kind of narrative it has, etc.

I basically only know the basics and thats it, this is the first time since the before internet era that Im doing this and feels awesome, not watching gameplays, only some MP matches that's it.

Im going in with only my faith in you guys and my love of that realistic gore!!

Yeah I feel the same way, I haven't seen much of anything on the game so I can enjoy it all for the first time next week.

Don't remind me. RIP real IW :(
Thank god ND is with Sony and not Activision.

On topic: I'm still not sure about the release date. Official site says it's July 30th in Europe but I've also read about August. And a lot of stores (including PSN if I'm not mistaken) still have some December placeholder. Is 30.7. (or 7.30 for the weirdos out there) the actual release date in Europe?
