Yea I'm cray about wanting to have The Last of Us in 1080p 60 fps as soon as humanly possible. I could care less about games coming out years from now. Do I want to see them sure, but I don't NEED them like I NEED TLOU remastered. Sorry that's my opinion.

Same game, more pixels. If that is all the reason you are hyped for E3 or the rest of the year or are a really weird gamer.

Actually, gamers latelly have been big graphic whores, it sucks.

i don't know why you guys are giving that dude shit because TLoU is his personal E3 showpiece. he likes the game; a superior version of one of his favorite games is about to be released soon, sooner than whatever may be announced at E3.

This. I'm really excited to see unannounced games but I'm actually really excited about TLoU remaster as well, even though I have already played through it once.

A lot of people saying a remake wouldn't be an E3 winner.

Will be interesting to see how GAF reacts to the MC Collection and H2A then.

Pumped as hell for both myself.

Though I am more looking forward to things like FO4, U4, ME4, Deus Ex 3, etc.

Well duh, of course they would give him shit. Don't you see the connection?

No good multiplayer games currently on the ps4. That is why I need this.
the campaign is great too, but the multiplayer was fresh and satisfying for me

I suppose a Halo 2 anniversy would be significantly different. One came out last summer, the other came 10 years ago and two generations ago. Wee still sort of in the honeymoon period for TLOU, I imagine if in like 5 or 10 years it was announced as a remake instead, then it might be a big E3 thing!

after playing lots and lots of multiplayer, and getting used to how those areas look in that mode, I am looking forward to trying singleplayer again on grounded difficulty and seeing how those areas are in that mode.

Oh, I'm pumped, but an E3 winner is something killer, something unexpected, something amazing (is spectacular too cliche?). Even if Microsoft remasters every Halo game and does something incredibly spectacular with its multiplayer, if it's the best part of E3, or an E3 *winner*, I'll be incredibly disappointed in every company.

What the hell are you talking about? Because I want my favorite game of all-time to be the absolute best it can be I'm a graphics whore? I still loved and played the shit out of the PS3 version but I also want this, really bad. By your logic you better not buy the Halo Collection when they re-release it on the One because that'll mean you're just a big fat whore! But I'll be playing TLOU and The Master Chief collection and having a ball.

And to all the other responses, Sony obviously has to have a great show and I'm sure they will but the very last announcement is what always makes it and if that announcement were that I could drive to the store and buy TLOU remastered right that second I would be floored and you people saying you wouldn't are the weird ones in my opinion.

Damn, TLOU, Garden Warfare and Diablo 3 all potentially within two weeks of each other...

Holy crap. I'm planning on getting those 3 games. My poor wallet :(

You are going to see a lot of "HOLY SHIT" "DAY 1" and all that jazz, but no one will declare MS a winner for it. No one is that insane.

I'm hoping that the only reason they haven't mentioned a release date yet is because they are planning to end the Sony press conference by saying you can now play the best PS3 game on PS4, in stores now! Sony drops mic and wins E3 again!

...or maybe there is people that is insane to declare. Here's a good example.

I think you just became my favorite Neogaf member.

Feel exactly the same way.

How do trophies prove that you have actually purchased the game? You have to be realistic in your expectations, is there any precedent for what you are asking? I don't think so.

Several games at PS4 launch supported discounted upgrades for both physical and digital PS3 games. Digital is easy - they know you bought it, so give you a discounted price on the PS4 version. For physical they required you to have the PS3 disc in the drive as a key, then let you buy the PS4 digital version at a discount. But you always need the PS3 disc in the drive to play the PS4 version

It may not be an E3 winner, but if they open up with a quick 5 second teaser of the title, give us a pan and scan of a nice scene, and then boom the release dat in large bold text and the speakers echoing, saying available in stores tomorrow! The crowd goes wild!! There are ritual sacrifices in the streets and offerings to the almighty Naughty God!!!

/hype

That won't happen. If the game was releasing in 2 weeks, most retailers would have already put it even if there wasn't an oficial announcement. Seeing how they leak release dates when they're still 3 months apart, it'd be weird if they don't do it with a game coming so soon.

That still doesn't make using trophies as proof of purchase a precedent and that upgrade path was facilitated also by a upgrade discount code that came with copy.

Sony could use a similar method as proof of purchase by using the network pass codes that came with every copy but they would have to distinguish between those who redeemed it vs those who bought a network pass online.

A big local chain is showing an August 12th shipping date. Release dates are usually the same as the American dates or very near to them.

I was expecting in June around the one year anniversary of the original release but August is fine with me. I'm gonna be in football heaven in June anyways :)

This is constantly my biggest problem with playstation now. Need something to fill the playstation multiplayer void that used to be filled with Socom.

They say they are "looking into the business model" for doing this.

That's odd considering other games already have the Upgrade program for other titles. Regardless, it probably won't work for me, I've decided to go all digital from here on out so there isn't really a good way to upgrade from a PS3 disc and I don't want to have to use it as a disc check for digital.

I'm not saying it's wrong for you to be happy for TLOU remastered, I didn't mean that.
What I meant is that it's totally weird that people are more excited about the same experience (not talking just about remasters) with minor graphical differences than a full fledged game. I'm not talking just about you, I'm talking about all those that put visual above the experience of playing the game itself.

I could care less about games coming out years from now. Do I want to see them sure, but I don't NEED them like I NEED TLOU remastered.

I just don't get it. If it was something like a really old game I would understand the hype and nostalgia. But it's a game you yourself said you still play in the PS3.

Maybe it's my vision of games. I don't see them as simply forms of entertainment but also as art and a great mean to share feelings and messages. I can't understand those who put 1080 in front of a great game experience, its weird.
So yea, I think this generation of gamers is kind of infested with graphics whores.

PS: I don't have a XboxOne, and I don't plan on buying any next-gen console for the next 3 years. So please don't call me a fanboy, I have this avatar because I was having fun in the hype topic of E3. Spent all my life gaming on Playstation.

August release would be great for me personally. I have the whole month off from Work and the kids will be back in school. Ooooh Yaaaa!

Fully expecting them to announce the release date at E3 but as for how soon it'll hit stores I'm not sure. July would probably be ideal for me as it appears to be completely empty (backlog aside). There's a few things I'll be playing in June like Murdered: Soul Suspect, Claire, WildStar (now in early access), and Watch Dogs too since I've been locked out of that all week due to the save/loading issue. Just Wasteland 2 for August it seems so that would be good too really.

I'm aware. The poster I was quoting said they sold their PS3 + game disk and just wanted Sony to look at their trophies. There is no way Sony, or anyone for that matter would use that type of system.

If they can make Left Behind DLC stand alone in addition to the remaster I'll buy that. I have no interest in purchasing the full game again.
