The Last of Us: Remastered |OT| Game of the Years

Is there something wrong with 30fps lock? It's like slo mo

This is what I like to hear. Let these developers know that 30fps is no longer acceptable.

grounded. My impression so far: Accept that you have no ammo and no supplies. Stealth kill and punch everything that moves. Try to run past the enemies to the next area if possible.

I'm here. It's amazing, I came and then my power went out so now I'm at the local bar waiting for it to turn back on.

Got up to the financial district in Shittsburgh and then BAM.

Man fuck that! Sounds like a conspiracy to me. Have you made any recent enemies at the power company?

I was really not prepared for how much a difference 60fps makes in this game. It feels more intense. There's no other way to describe it. Every emotional beat and gameplay moments just FEELS right now. I'm shocked.

Oooh, so that fuzzy low res effect that caused a ruckus earlier in the week only happens when you use the flashlight in an area with spores. Or at least it's been the only time I've detected it so far.

Yup, I'm definitely doing a Photo Mode playthrough. I had a brief passion for PC screenshotting, but my hardware fell behind the curve, so this will be fun.

I'm at the part when
Joel, Ellie and Tess escape to the city. Go into that huge building and make our way downstairs when I leave them and find a bunch of runners and one clicker. What the hell is my best strategy here?

playing on Survival but might bump it down to hard

Is upgrading my stats going to be an issue on survivor mode? I just reached the first work bench and I only have 20 pills. Should I be playing on hard to find more pills or will I find more along the way on survivor. I remember on the ps3 when I played or normal when I got to this point I had 2 stat points already upgraded and by end game I has everything almost maxed out.

Dude! It took me I dont know how many tries to finally get that past that part without taking any damage. The key to that encounter which greatly helped me was barely moving the left joystick while crawling. That let me get behind the runners a whole lot easier. I owe to the GAFer who gave me that suggestions. It helped me immensely.

I was stuck on that part for ages on the PS3. I just very slowly take out the runner then the clicker.

This was the single hardest encounter I had in the game first time through (Hard) as it's basically a super steep Runner/Clicker trial and error 'tutorial'.

Just try to take out as many as you can by stealth then the rest by bricks and force.

Same it feels like it was meant for this game (and every game.) I'm not naive enough to expect it all the time but damn when I have it it's great.

Can someone fill me in on a story detail? Very early on. I got distracted.

I'm with the lady going to meet someone for supplies or something? They just let us in. Now I'm in the area with tents and such.

damn this game looks insanely good and 60 fps is incredible. the shadows looked good enough! there was a part at the beginning with the fog spores where the edges looked rough but if the seed wasn't planted in my head about the shadows i would've never noticed so no big deal.

i envy you who haven't played through this on ps3 already. what a treat you are in for

I just completed that section on Survival. Here's what I did:

Went right, took out the lone soldier. Immediately backtracked and waited for the soldier in the room on the left to leave/turn around and then took him out. Took out a brick and waited for the runners to put some distance between them and the clicker. Took out the clicker, pulled out melee weapon and beat the two runners left to death.

PS4 Golds are quite a difference maker in this game if you're playing on higher difficulty without the wall hack. Glad I snagged me a pair.

What if I wanted to do that now, months after purchase, how would I transfer everything over?

As far as I know there is no way to back up all the games download. The official playstation tells you to back up your save date either to a usb or using the cloud if you have ps plus. then after you upgrade the hdd you have to download all your games and saves again. pain I know but it feels great to not worry about space.

One of their associates sent men to attack them, now they are going to find him because he owes them something

I've always been a believer but I've never had the opportunity to see the difference in a game I'm very familiar with already.

I've done it on PC games before. You can just go into the Nvidia Control Panel and make a custom resolution at 30Hz, then flip back and forth in game. Or someone else mentioned the hotkey for 60/30fps in Dark Souls with Durante's patch.

Final Fantasy XIV on PC also has a 30fps lock option, too. I tried that out.

Have you tried using the virtual surround sound button on this game? I have a Gold headset, and every game I tried with VSS turned on sounds worse. Otherwise the headset is great though.

Today is a good day. Subbed to the EA Vault and got this game just now.

Plus 4 games for 360/One and 6 for Ps+ in a few days.

All dees gaems.

i was largely ignorant of the game's gameplay mechanics and bought the ps4 release today mostly due to hype. there's a lot more stealth than I thought there'd be...bleh

My first time through on normal I played it like a TPS. There are some segments you need to just to sneak through, but there isn't many. Just remember, fights are meant to be pretty. In a fight you just need to survive.

Good to hear.
Hopefully this and more similar reactions will help put to rest the 60fps only benefits fighters and racers myth.

I think going Normal was a huge mistake. I thought I'd be terrified of "zombies" (or whatever they are) in this game but as it turns out I feel like Batman. The fact that I can see through walls... ugh. Removes a lot of the tension.

That being said, the presentation is amazing and the characters are interesting so far.

You can turn that off even in normal

I played the PS3 version on Normal with Listen Mode Off and it often presented quite a challenge at times. There's definitely too many resources on Normal, though.

Wait we have a cloud? Whenever I hear about 'the cloud' on this site it's in regards to 'the other side'

Back on track, now I have played the first 2 uncharted's.. But man, this is some dark, gritty, for adults only after dark video gaming right now

Is anyone having issues getting into an online match? Have been trying for the last half hour and nothing. Earlier today I was able to get in fairly quickly if I searched for a match, backed out and searched again. That's not working anymore.

Awesome, will do right away.

Still kinda shocked it's there by default TBH. What is GAF's opinion on this? I've wanted to play LoU for a long time but I never imagined it would feel more like Splinter Cell than Resident Evil. To be fair I'm early in the game. In any case if removing "x-ray" vision doesn't do it I'll probably bump up the difficulty. I want to feel something during those encounters damn it!
