Never played a Legend of Heroes game but always had my eye on the series. Can I go into this completely blind and still enjoy the story?

Theoretically each new entry in a subseries (which this is) tries to be a jumping on point for new fans (they'd have resources on hand to provide context for past events etc like libraries etc) , but I'd highly recommend going in order of release tbh. The reward is far greater in this way.

The biggest obstacle rn is the sky trilogy only being on PC and PSP, but the PC version is available for dirt cheap and can be played by a potato with no problems.
