Dude, that twist is the best part!

On another note, it's no spoiler to say that every dungeon boss in Oracle of Seasons is from the original Legend of Zelda.

Seeing Aquamentus again... <3

dude, you spoiled that for me! you baka!
i never beat NES Zelda and didn't even get to the first dungeon.

I've never actually played these, I do remember a phase in elementary school where I collected the Choose Your Own Adventure style books for these however. Word is that these are nearly, if not the best 2D Zelda games? I'm in if that hype is even partially true.

if you put both together it's probably the best handheld Zelda experience

I wish they could somehow retroactively merge Link's Awakening into these games, lol.

I'd say the Oracle games are a shade shy of LADX... which is to say they're incredible.

you've got 9 days brah, then it's Xing time

Nooo way. Don't wanna look at a guide either.

I'll have to start over to rejuvenate my interest but my progress ;_;

for me, it was the opposite. i managed to beat and get 100% in the Oracles and later LA but never got far in AlttP or Minish Cap or the NES games.

These two games will look cool in my eShop folder at the very least.

I haven't bothered with MC like at all. I played for 30 mins and dropped that noise posthaste.

Lttp > Ages
Lttp > Seasons
Lttp < Ages and Seasons

I'm probably a minority on the last one though.

There's a shitload of characters from the N64 games that appear in OoS and OoA. Lots of familiar faces from Ocarina and Majora's Mask. Even this guy:

So how does the linking work in this version? I always did it using the codes on the GBC carts. (The process was basically, talk to a person in your 2nd game who gives a code, give it to a specific person in your completed first game to get the item there, give the return code to Farore in your 2nd game.)

EDIT: Except for the ring codes you use the snakes for.

Fun fact: there were originally supposed to be THREE oracle games.

I have never played these Zelda games so I really want to pick them up. Any news on EU pricing and are we getting it the same day as US?

I tried playing one of these once, but didn't like ot and quit. I played the one where
Link gets stuck on an island without his equipment
. Link's Awakening is my favorite Zelda, so I expected to really love it, but nope.

With that said, I'm really excited to give it another try! I think I maybe just wasn't in the mood for it at the time.

I shot people I like more for less.

Well, not exactly true because of
the moth boss (other versions of which are in Link to the Past and a few of the other games) and the medusa head thing
. It might be better to say that all the major bosses from the original Legend of Zelda are in Oracle of Seasons as bosses, which is true.

To be fair, that part does tend to drag a bit. You definitely should give Ages another chance, and play Seasons too. Seasons is a bit easier/simpler than Ages AKA less of a pain of in the ass in some aspects :p Ages is the better game though, for sure.

I always think of Seasons as the "colorful" one and Ages as the "dark" one, lol. Funny they have distinct atmospheres despite using similar graphics engines.

Each game introduces a brand new race to the Zelda universe: The Subrosians in Seasons, and the Tokay in Ages. It'd be cool to see them again in another Zelda some day, but since they're tied to Holodrum and Labrynna, respectively, I'm not sure when that'll be!

Also, Seasons is the easier one. I'd play it first.

I actually played up to the 3rd dungeon in Oracles last week, without a save. Getting it all back is around 30 minutes.

Also, I feel like these have important information:

i remember those days. i was gonna buy all 3 and then the news that they were reduced to 2 came and it was disappointing.

i guess the proyect became way too ambitious for the time (and, as usual, it was never attempted again even though we have capable tech now)

I'd put them slightly above LADX. The final two fights in the Oracle games are leagues better than the LADX ones. The dungeons too.

I'd hazard to guess most would say Ages is better overall, but only by a hair. Ages is the more challenging of the two, so Seasons is the best starting point.

Basically, Seasons is more action-oriented, while Ages is more puzzle-based.

Can't wait. Finally got around to playing a 2D Zelda in Link's Awakening and loved it. Can't wait to play these and LttP (waiting on a Wii U VC release for the latter).

Cool, thanks for clarifying that. I'll probably go in that order, then.

I honestly couldn't pick one. #TeamBoth?

Also, playing these games should be a great prelude to ALttP2 later this year, since I suspect the timeline will go something like ALttP -> LADX -> OoS/OoA -> ALttP2, with Link returning to Hyrule after his adventures in Holodrum and Labrynna.

With these I'll have my 3 favorite games of all time on my 3DS! I am so hyped about this.

Link's Awakening, Oracle of Seasons, and Oracle of Ages all together!

And beautifully backlit, in perfect color! The GBA SP and GCN GB Player always did funny things to the colors, making them darker than they should be. On the 3DS, not only is it backlit, but it looks exactly like it should look!

if it's any help, Seasons comes first according to the game's game ID. Seasons is the 7th Zelda and Ages is the 8th one.

the oracles come before LA.

Just wanted to say, there's a super-duper true final boss battle and ending you can only access once you've completed both games. The true final boss battle/ending ties the two games together, so the Oracle games really are one massive 16-dungeon Zelda title in the end.

#TeamSeedOfWisdom...wait a second

Also according to the (not that good) manga. So yeah I think Seasons->Ages is mostly official.

Doesn't Seasons have mine carts in the first dungeon? That was fun!

I remember Ages had the cooler first dungeon, though. Graveyards!

Oh, yes, and Tokay <3 SO CUTE

I guess I should add that I bought both of these together with my yellow Game Boy Color. Really, the first games & system I got for myself, so they're super special. I'm hyped to get to play them again!!

#TeamAges

Because that's the one I played and owned when it came out. Which means I'll be buying Seasons when these are released on the eShop.

everything about this sounds fucking magical, no way this doesn't fuck up my 2013 GOTY list later this year
