The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom Final Trailer is Here

So what i'm seeing from the "DLC" crowd is something along the lines of

"It was a valid criticism! Nintendo didn't show anything! Don't be an asshole about it!"

STFU. This is Nintendo and it's one of their most important games. Not EA/Ubisoft trying to sell you the same game for the 1356th time with a new skin.
I mean, I'm a big fan of judging what I see with my eyes. I think there's a critical shortage of that in gaming pre-release hype cycles. Show it and I can comment on it. Until I see it, I comment on what I see.

That said, I think most critics still expected that a lot was hidden given the series / team pedigree. Most people criticizing it still pre-ordered off that voucher.

A little lost on the story though. We have now confirmation that Ganondorf returns in its human form and SOMEHOW survives dying in BOTW(That game said that, if he died in the pig form, he would never revive again. Fuck plot continuity I guess lol), and we still don't know if there are dungeons, but at least we got greats of new content now, including a lot of indoor stuff.
You only ever fight Calamity Ganon in BotW. Not the same thing as Ganondorf. Calamity Ganon along with the Blights are just Malice corrupted Guardians at their core. Pig Ganon(and the main Calamity) is just a manifestation of Malice.

Ganon is never directly fought. Hence the trailers alluding to Ganondorf's "Redead" Corpse and here we are seeing snippets of a Resurrection of Dragmire. The mysterious arm may or may not be a factor in it.

Holy fuck that outdoor parts was disgusting, straight out of a PS3 game maybe worse, muddy and basic AF texttures, also the view limit is terrible with all that shitty fog...they should not have put that into the otherwise fine trailer.

The Link charging a big car thing with a narrow penis shaky thing looked fucking dumb.

AI Helpers is the opposite of good, maybe they've padded the baddies so you "need" the help.

Looks great but maybe go with Japanese voices. The music was really good but I hope you get to hear it more often in the actual game. I'm seeing the kind of stuff BOTW was lacking (like distinct dungeon-like areas) so NICE! But wow I can't believe my 2017 Switch is gonna play this game. Might be my last title on the system.

EDIT: People need fucking glasses if they think those textures and that super thick fog is OK in a game in 2023.
hope you feel better soon.

That turned out to be a mistranslation which is funny because that was the only interesting plot beat the game had and the only thing that godawful final boss fight had going for it.
Ahhhhhhhh, didn't know about it! Now this trailer makes a lot more sense.

Best case scenario when you build off of existing assets is to actually capitalize on that opportunity to free up your team, and just build out tons of extra shit.

Hopefully that's what they've done. Looks extremely promising. My wishlist:
  • Improved gameplay with lots of new things Done, Fuse, Recall and more.
  • Improved bosses with more variety
  • Improved replacement for shrines with more variety
  • Dungeons

I have never played Zelda, but I did play immortals which apparently is somewhat like Zelda. Didn't really care too much about the game, so I am not sure what makes Zelda special at least based on that trailer

Where in BOTW is said this? Bevause I remember being written in the game that Ganondorf becomes Calamity Ganon in exchange of being able to revive(Which apparently was a mistranslation) in order to gain more power, becoming Calamity Ganon(dorf).

Feeling great ad hominem troll, just have functional eyes and I've seen video games in 2023.

All most people need is flashing lights it seems to keep them happy.
This ain't it man. This game is mechanically well ahead of some of the prettiest games on the market. My functional eyes can adjust to some questionable textures to enjoy the actual gameplay.

I'm a troll? ok then lol.

This is a game that is running on 6+ year old hardware that needs to be powered off a battery. What do you expect from it?

I'm excited for those that are excited. Maybe it's my personal bias from not being absolutely blown away by the previous game, but I'm still not excited about this in at all. Which honestly sucks considering Nintendo was my favorite growing up, and Zelda was too.

There are definitely parts of this that look more interesting to me than BotW ever did, but I don't feel anything else. Probably because I know it's going to contain the things that didn't really do it for me in BotW, plus some new stuff. Maybe I'll check it out in the future? I want to give it a good shot like I did the previous game, but I don't feel myself rushing.

I get a nice birthday present for myself with this game. And was there a wingsuit when Link was dodging those lasers?

I bet Ganondorf will be the final boss this time :messenger_squinting_tongue:

10/10 for me. I am overjoyed with hype.

Feeling great ad hominem troll disliking a game that looks like it belongs on PS3 has NOTHING to do with "feeling good", just have functional eyes and I've seen video games in 2023.

Bruh you had 50 posts crying about this game in the previous thread, let it go son it will be alright

I genuinely feel sorry for you.

Wow, what a fucking excuse, it still needs to look competitive with the COMPETITION, or at least ATTEMPT IT, if they chose a a different art style that the machine could DO, it could look GOOD and be fun too.

Hmm might need to rewatch. I really don't remember seeing shrines. Regardless I am actually ok if they are in there. Really just need dungeons to make a return.
They have been in previous trailers. Maybe not as much focus was given to them because they were kinda in the background but they were there and those who analysed the footage had a good idea that these were the new shrines.

You are suggesting that the PS4 or even PS5 is competition to the Switch? Get outta here.

The "cartoony" art style has really helped BOTW. Do i think the game should be clear and sharper? yeah but it's not bad for a fucking 6+ year old PORTABLE console.

It's Nintendo's job to show it off properly. This trailer is good; their last gameplay was not so impressive.
Depends on what you wanted out of it. They had specific gameplay features they wanted to highlight to show the differences between this and BotW. You and maybe some others were expecting something different. But I am positive they achieved what they wanted internally with the video demo they put together 2 weeks ago. Sorry not everyone always likes everything 🤷‍♂️

Personally I thought it was great. And filled in a lot of blanks.

It will outsell nearly every game this year sans, maybe, ones like Spider-Man 2 which will no doubt give you those pretty empty calories that you desire. The graphics in Zelda are fine for what it's trying to do.

Damn ok that looks really good.
Was going to buy it anyway but now I'm hyped.

(the voice acting for Zelda continues being hilariously bad though)

I was in the camp that Zelda deserved better hardware but this looks ridiculous it could possibly be the greatest adventure game ever made but I'll reserve judgment maybe I'm too hyped 😆

Not clearly stated in the English localization. But Ganondorf gave up on assuming a physical form to fight Link and took on a pure embodiment of rage instead. He was originally going to use Zelda as a catalyst for his revival. Hence the Cocoon in the castle.

Furthermore the Blights as well as the base form of C.Ganon are mechanical.

However given the lore in Skyward Sword Ganon cannot truly die as Ganon is just an incarnation of the Curse of Demise and as such will reincarnate over and over again. The Master Sword is only capable of sealing Ganon away.

No known method in the series illustrates Ganon's pure destruction.

I genuinely feel sorry for you.
The fucking trolls that can't handle someone with an opinion that's not OMFG THIS THING IS AMAZING... it's fucking astoudning. All go for the lowest hanging not even logic ad hominem bullshit too.

Nothing to feel bad about, I feel bad for you os obsessed with your ONE THING being LOVED BY EVERYONE ONE, and for thinking an OPINION about ONE FUCKING GAME makes me somehow ill.

Trailer was straight overwhelming with the amount of new stuff they showed. Damn. I'm torn between watching it again to dissect, or just waiting to experience it, in game.

Also did anyone else think they kept hinting at Zelda being playable during that trailer? She was shown with the Master Sword a few times.
What do you guys think? If she was playable, I don't think they'd reveal it in any trailers.

There's the underground area we all knew was coming.

Looks dope. Can't wait.
