The Life Is Strange Developers Already Have A Bunch Of Ideas For Future Seasons.

"By the time the fifth episode [of Season 1] came out it was clear that this was a massive success beyond anything that anyone actually expected at the time so everyone knew that we wanted to do more. What exactly that would be was quite a lengthy discussion between Dontnod and Square Enix. Whether we continue the story of Max and Chloe, whether we do something else, whether the prequel was going to happen. Ultimately what Dontnod felt was they wanted to do something entirely new. "

Season 1 is a masterpiece, but with all amazing games its hard to follow up on it. and season 2 has shown that. the story is just abysmal in comparison. its hard to catch thunder twice i get it, but somewhere the devs should have noticed the story in season 2 is not up to snuff. Maybe its better for them to start a new franchise.

I think technically Season 2 is leaps and bounds ahead of Season 1, and I like the premise of you having to look after and guide your brother, however not being an American I don't really have a vested interest in the political posturing and it just feels super heavy-handed and awkward at times. I'm hoping that with the remaining episodes that they can turn things around and concentrate more on the relationship with the brother and less on the politics. I have a feeling ultimately matters will come down to it being a family drama as certain events have not been yet addressed, but I think it will take a while to get there.

Hopefully, with future seasons they'll recalibrate and concentrate more on the characters and drama and less on the virtue signalling.

I hate that they included politics this time. Fuck politics, the players loved the game as it is so why add politics when you know exactly what's the general consensus about politics

Sadly the first game has seen a huge SJW fanbase being built around it, so that's probably why the second game is like this.

Never realy liked the Series, the Cringy Teenager speak, written by middle aged men, your Power gets blocked for no reason other than Plot and Chloe.
God, i can count on one Hand the time i have disliked an ficional Character more.

after spending 2min with that annoying brother i was out. im glad u are enjoying it but both from a story point of view and gameplay this game is far inferior.

I loved the first game. One of the most emotional gaming experiences I've ever had. Literally the only game to ever make me cry, due entirely to the ending. I still can't listen to Spanish Sahara.

Choosing to sacrifice Chloe and save the bay was a really hard choice, but in the end it was the right one. I'm not convinced by those who say that it's unfair because Chloe had such a shitty life. You see, that's entirely the point and it gets said by Max during the game: life is weird, life is unfair, life is strange.

Rather amusingly, I played Max gay by total accident, so got that very iconic kiss scene in front of the tornado. Powerful stuff.

I've not seen the other ending, but I've heard that dontnod put more effort into sacrificing Chloe than the bay, so it's clear in my mind what the real ending is.

Do you walk out on films after the opening credits also? Maybe try being less dramatic with your denunciations because you don't care for something in future. I don't like certain aspects of the game, just as I don't like certain aspects of most games (like the lame Tarantino references in TW3 for example) but I assess them on the overall versus the short term. I mean jeez if you thought the brother was annoying, how on earth did you play through the first couple of episodes of LIS given Chloe was an obnoxious cunt, (by design no less if you listen to the developer commentaries).

I couldn't even finish the first episode. Happy that I didn't buy it and the game is on Game Pass

I finished the first episode but boy was it fucking boring, I've no idea how people were like "yeah, I want more of that!" after playing it.

Haha shaka brah!! My hair is pink and we're teenagers. Weed!

Fuck off.

Life Is Strange 2 is a hella dud so far. Everything except the visuals is a massive downgrade. Plot, gameplay and especially the characters. Not to mention the ridiculous wait time between episodes. The first game already had 3 episodes under its belt 5 months in. For Life Is Strange 2 there's multiple 4 month gaps between episodes. Episodic gaming doesn't work with these kind of gaps. They're supposed to keep you on the hook.

Not that they could anyway. By episode 2 of the first game I'd experienced several impactful moments (and one all-time standout) that I could hang my hat on. I was excited to see what would happen next. Episode 2 of the sequel left me bored and wondering if they could possibly dig themselves out of the hole they're in. "Maybe it could get good?" But that's BS anyway, it should already be good and it's not.

I just hope Twin Mirror is better.

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit was way better than the garbage I played. Give it a go if you haven't, I think it's still free.

i didnt need to. i understood the premise. u have care for this annoying ass little brother that has magical powers and you're on the run. ya the premise doesn't do it for me.

I think their games have been steadily declining. They should not fall into the Telltale mode of making the same game over and over. I would really like to see them branch out more into a different genres. Vampyr wasn't great, but it had signs of potential greatness in some of it's integration of story choice with action and RPG elements.

One game series I just never found myself caring about.

Hopefully whatever they have in store for people is good to the people that like it.

Would have made the game more interesting if Max had a hidden psychopathic/sadistic side lol

Yep it annoyed me in episode 1, but that's just one of the problems I have with LiS2. The main characters aren't as likeable as Chloe and Max, the lack of time rewind mechanic (or something equally cool) makes the game less unique and less interesting, the breaks betweens the episodes are way too long, and there are some quality control issues (I got my saves corrupted half way through episode 1, I also heard episode 2 released in a horrible state before it was eventually patched).

I really enjoyed season 1, thought Before the Storm was okayish, but after finishing episode 1 of the new season I'll be waiting for a huge sale.

Well, they did make an action RPG called Vampyr in between LiS and LiS 2. There was positive word of mouth around it. I haven't played it but it looks well done.

Telltale's problem wasn't really that they stuck to the same genre. It's that they pumped out like 6 games every two years and each one was more uninspired than the last (Batman TEW was actually good but too little too late). DontNod are actually taking their sweet ass time with LiS 2. Personally I do want DontNod to keep making their episodic adventure games. That's why i'm hoping Twin Mirror is better than Life Is Strange 2 (has been so far).

u like the game thats fine, many don't. nothing to be catty about.

LOL. I'm not being catty, you didn't answer the question I asked about films. Your opinion on the value of LIS2 isn't worth anyone's time if all you played was 2 minutes of it before throwing the towel in. What part of what's being said don't you understand exactly?

hahahaha, ok buddy just relax its just a game lol

The first game was cringy as fuck but it had good moments. LiS 2 is just a huge joke, I've been just watching Youtube videos and I can't understand how is that an adult wrote this thing.

Episodic game format is dying imo and not just because of Telltale leaving its (negative) mark on the industry after its collapse. I think it's too late for Dontnod to back down from Twin Mirror's episodic structure, but if LiS 3 comes out I expect them to offer one longer story.

Sure, I'd actually prefer they weren't episodic. My point was just that I don't want them to switch genres.

I really don't know how to react.

I've enjoyed a lot Life is Strange and Before the Storm. But somehow, I have no interest to play Life is Strange 2.
The Captain Spirit game was quite bad from my point of view. I didn't find any of the magic of the previous game.
