I'm sorry but Kai Leng boss fight and that boss fight on Liara's planet was unfair on harder difficulties. I barely won. There's also like a mission on ME3 when you're being bomb rushed by tons of enemies with crazy high speed.

What class(es) did you play?

I'm curious because while I don't play on Insane, I always play on Hardcore.

I would like to have a more focused mission structure, and definitely more core missions than in Inquisition, yes.

But maybe I'm strange, but having a bunch of that throwaway stuff doesn't bother me except in how it mucks with the leveling and balancing, as I've explained previously on this page.

I keep bringing up Inquisition because I'm currently replaying it and I'm looking at how Andromeda might draw from it.
They should just collect them and put them on a signpost in the area and call them Contracts.

I also always play on Hardcore in ME3 and never found anything particularly difficult. Might die once or twice because I wasn't paying attention, but that happens early in the game when I don't have 90% of my powers maxed.

Maybe my months of experience in Gold/Platinum multiplayer made me better. :p

Autogenerated trash missions and metagame layers really ruined the experience entirely for me. Having my logbook fill up with that nonsense every time I arrived in an area made me just not care.

Yeah, that was exactly my experience with DA:I. It's my one fear for Andromeda... the possibility that they may borrow a little too much from that structure for my liking.

EDIT: Oh, one hugely important thing. No crafting. It doesn't work, its not necessary, its just tedious and it unbalances your games loot system everytime. Drop it. No-one read Lord of the Rings for tales of blacksmithing, no-one watched Story Wars because of the power converters. It's an MMO relic that needs to just *die* in single player games.

My big problem with crafting in games is that nobody seems able to balance it well. It's either wildly broken or perfectly useless for anything but a roundabout way of creating vendor trash.

ME3's inventory system was basically perfect; let's stick with that.

Yeah, I can't really see where crafting would work for ME.

I did like the large variety of weapons, and then modding of those weapons in ME3. I think that was the best weapon system.

Modding is basically the same idea of crafting, and you could use the same template to balance Dragon Age a bit more. IE, base weapons are loot and come with a few inherent unique traits, but there are empty slots that you can add stuff if you want to specialize for the build you're making. So basically the same as Dragon Age's current system except you have to find the base weapons and can't craft them. Final Fantasy XI uses the same system for augmenting weapons and armor; you do the fights for the base and then use "stones" to add stats and special abilities. By doing this you can maintain the excitement of getting loot, killing special monsters, doing quests etc while still benefiting from the customized awesomeness crafting provides.

Gather resources and choose upgrades. Build an upgraded medbay and unlock improved healing or invest in an upgraded armoury to unlock heavier weaponry.

Weaponry would be harder to do as you are in a different galaxy and power supplies might be incompatible.

I would be okay with this.

Actually, now that I stop and think about it, there is sort of an in-story justification for crafting; you did just sort of arrive in a new galaxy. There's going to be some domestic sources of gear, but most of what you use is gonna have to be created on the Ark. But I really don't want to have to go through the tedium of mining out individual resource sources...

What could work is that you can claim deposits on planets; sort of like the Quarries and Lumber Yards from DAI, but with more of a direct impact. And once you've got the supply lines and facilities built up, you can get better gear from your suppliers.

I got GEDOSATO, and DOF from ReShade working in Mass Effect 3.

Prepare your butts.

Took a couple of hours but:
  1. Got gedosato working by rolling back to a 18 month old version
  2. Got depth buffer access via blood magic
  3. consequently am now able to inject depth of field
  4. flycam =D
  5. downsampling from 4k
  6. 15 to 20GB in HD textures

Interestingly the default FOV for the game is 70 degrees. You can change it for screencaps but it has to be done before launching the flycam command, and changing FOV back to default means using FOV 0, not FOV 70.

I don't remember what exact classes I was. But I do remember constantly hiding behind cover and rolling like crazy. Lol

The reason I ask is because the class abilities come very much in focus in a tight fight like that.

I would perhaps suggest that you weren't taking full advantage of your class if you don't recall what you were playing, unless you were a soldier.

Soldiers still need to make sure they're using the appropriate ammo type, and adrenaline rush as often as possible.

If you're using the METPF version of ALOT for ME2:


I'm not at my gaming PC so it's harder for me to give more specific instructions but basically if you're using ME2/ME3 explorer make sure you build the texture tree by running Texplorer so that the modding tools actually know where the game textures are. From there you can use the TPF tools to load and install new textures.

BUT REMEMBER: these texture mods are over 15GB+ in size often doubling at least the size of the games on textures alone so if you do go down the route of texture modding ME2 and 3 make sure you set aside a whole day for each game to do it.

Sorry for the really late reply. I've gotten texplorer to work and I already have extracted all the high res textures from the tpf files. So I have all the high res textures ready to be replaced. Do I have to manually replace each one? Because there are 751 textures for ME2 and 1884 for M3. And the way they're all names almost the same, makes it really hard to do so. Right window is just a folder of the new higher res texture, right side is texplorer with the normal textures.

GOOD LORD NO. Using texplorer is useful for building the tree, which you've now done. Good. Next step is to use the TPF/DDS tools to load/replace all of the textures at once.

So just load all the textures, analyse with texplorer and click install valid, that's it?

What's everyone's favorite assault rifle in ME3?

I liked the Mattock, but I'm partial to the Vindicator.

It's relatively light, I like the semi-auto fire and it's pretty accurate in small bursts.

Although this question makes me wonder: What is other's people standard loadouts?

I tend to only carry the Vindicator, because I always want to retain that 200% cooldown.
 
Depends what I'm playing. Vanguard, my go-to is that Asari shotty with the amazing weight.

Engineer, I'm partial to the sticky detonator pistol and sometimes the Vindicator.

Soldier, give me the biggest nastiest guns you've got. Widow, that Krogan shotty, screw weight gimme gimme gimme that damage.

I should also note that I ran around with the Avenger (!!!) for a while.

I had gotten used to it in MP and liked its weight and full auto for SP.

I should note that I haven't played ME3 as anything other than either Engineer or Adept, so that influences my loadouts. Cooldowns are king because guns are my secondary offensive choice.

Don't know why I had trouble the first time, this was easy. I can't believe I'm replaying the game with high res texture without using texmod. Wish they remastered the game already, textures can also do so much when the geometry is low.

I don't think a remaster would involve adding geometry anyway.

Open worlds sounds good, especially with seamless transition to and from space. Hopefully the world's aren't pure unadulterated ass like in ME1.

Here's hoping the worlds aren't TOO empty. Sure, there is going to be barren rocky planets if you want to have a believable universe, but hopefully they will have more stuff than mountains, pretty skyboxes and "collect minerals/artifacts" objectives.


Such a good track. Shame that you only hear it in one place in the whole trilogy.

I saw as much stuff to do on one planet than practically all the dozen side planets in ME1 lol.

I'm playing ME2 through Origin and I have all the dlc but they're not appearing in the game. I'm connected through the cerebrus network but I get a message that the dlc isn't available. I haven't progressed much through the game though. I'm at the point where I just get the Normandy back. Does it unlock later? I forgot
