I found the ChizPlays channel some time last year and since that day I have watched his daily uploads every morning with my breakfast.

He plays mostly Mario Sluggers, Wii Sports and other Wii minigame collections, but here's the thing:
He's not very good at video games. Despite this, he plays against the CPU but treats every game like it's the finals of a tournament.

The editing of his youtube videos is so well done and he's an incredibly entertaining performer. You can tell he's spent a lot of time developing his persona and character. It's all very self-aware and has easily become my favorite youtube channel.

He also has a criminally low subscriber base at only 250k. He deserves more. The dude streams three times a week and puts up a new video 6 days a week. Give him a look. I think you'll really enjoy it.

Sounds like he appeals to 10 year olds that spend too much time on their tablet because their parents are in a failing relationship and just want something to distract their kid because they've stopped caring enough to engage with them. But that's basically a genre within itself on YouTube these days.

I prefer chill and top 0.1% ranked streamers who also interact with chat. Especially on the game I also play like Gorgc for Dota 2 or Aceu for Apex Legend so that I could have learn something from their gameplay.

I think the problem is, NeoGaf skews older and most people have seen this content in one form or another. The "real annoyance amplified into fake rage with a healthy dollop of meme-energy" character that is funny when you're younger, but just kind of "Meh. . ." once you advance in your years. It's like EUPHORIA: excellent show that I just can't get into; not my demo.

Last time I watched streamers was back when the LoL OGs were on, like Dyrus, HotshotGG, Doublelift... must've been over ten years ago. I quickly grew out of it though, now I can't watch streamers without cringing.

Sorry Op, i know you like his videos, but i really couldnt stand watching more than 2 minutes. the constant screaming, acting like a clown, it was so bad.
It's not funny at all, it's like he's constantly trying to get your attention by just being loud and annoying. that to me it's not good content.
If he has a fanbase that likes his style and he can make a live from this, that's good for him and i wish him the best, but this kind of content is not for me, and it seems, not for many on Gaf either.

Absolutely. This content is aimed at a very specific demographic. . .for the most part. Guy is definitely trying to cultivate a character and more power to him. Everyone deserves a hustle in these times. . .I just think it's been done to death (and done better; Michael from ROOSTER TEETH for example, or DrDisrespect for a more "modern" and "adult" take).
