I'm not going to get too hard on Brien. Heinz Field is a stupidly hard place for kickers. If Reed's game winner was from as far back as Brien's was, it would have missed too (it just BARELY made it inside the post as is).
Still, the Jets had 2 chances to win and couldn't get it done. Why? Because Hackett is always satisfied with the bare fucking minimum and doesn't EVER try to impose his offense's will upon the opposing team. EVER.
Regardless, 3 heart attack overtime road games in a row (2 in the playoffs) is all the entertainment I could possibly ask for from this team. They pushed the number 1 seeded team in the NFL to the very verge of elimination when nobody gave them a chance in a city in which they have never ever won.
I'm proud of the Jets and the game they played. I said they would play the Steelers tough, and they did. That's all I expected from them. The fact that they nearly won a chance to play for the AFC title was just a bonus to me.
