Yeh, had a friend who called today and was told they sold out 2-3 weeks ago. I kept telling him months ago to order but he never did. I feel super annoyed and bummed out for him, grr.
The N64 version is so much better than the one on GameCube.
I heard the GBA player is a bit shit emulation wise.

The most stunning racing game on the GC is easily F-Zero GX. This is especially true when you play it in progressive scan.
The same is true for 1080.
I don't think the GBA player is an emulator, but instead, you attach an actual GBA to your GC. Not sure though.
Rebel strike is fun too, but those on foot missions... Yikes.
It definitely has the GBA CPU. Not sure what the other chip is, can't make it out but it looks similar to a chip in the GBA (though labeled differently) along with the CPU. Could be the WRAM, but it doesn't look like a RAM chip to me.

I remember buying the gameboy player and thinking it was quite expensive, explains why when it has gba parts in it but I was also in my first job and money was tight, heh.
This is one of those add-ons I am glad to own yet never really used it often, only played metroid fusion and the sonic advance 1 and 2 on it before moving away from home for college so I missed out on playing later titles on the thing.
Doesn't the GBA Player drop frames or something obnoxious like that? I was all set to buy one, and then I found out about that and just bought a GBA SP.
Do people actually BUY from amazon sellers? For example:
Aria of Sorrow brand new for $999.99! Wth?
Just a random question, but what do you guys think are the "classic" Gamecube games? Obviously Mario Sunshine, Wind Waker, F-Zero GX, among other first party Nintendo games, but what else?
And what about the hidden gems? I'd classify Baten Kaitos as one, but I'm sure there are more.
I have a Japanese GCN game where the cover has a green duck on a helicopter like thing. A friend recommended me to buy this game, and I COMPLETELY forgot the name. Haven't tried it either, so I don't know how it plays.
Does anyone know this game.
Yep, that's the game alright. How does it play, and how good is it?
Yeah, the Kururin series is great. You play as the duck in that ship thing which, in the game, appears as a stick that's constantly rotating. Your goal is to maneuver that stick through mazes without hitting any walls or obstacles, and it's really fucking difficult. You can change directions, but apart from that, the mechanics couldn't be any simpler. Even so, it's a really fun, surprisingly addictive little game. I'd recommend it.
Hmm, sounds fun. I just ordered it from Play-Asia, surprised they still have Gamecube games in stock!
How is the GBA version of this game?
Never played the gamecube version is it really that bad?
Wow. What an awesome package.Hey guys, I'm wanting to sell my black GameCube DOL-001 (modded with Viper-GC Original), matching black GameBoy Player (w/ disc), and the component cable + power cable + a/v cable, and one grey WaveBird. All items are pretty much mint/great condition.
Any interest? It pains me to part with my baby, but I think it's time I just deal with Wii component playing GC games, as I need the $. I know what this stuff is worth, and wouldn't mind cutting someone on GAF a decent deal while still getting a fair price.
I'm happy to provide pictures to anyone who PMs me interested. Willing to ship in the continental U.S. for the true cost of shipping.
Anyways, yup..just shoot me a pm if anyone is interested.
Thanks! It's one of the early GC mod chips, allows it to play any backups on mini-DVD as well as any region games. I'm sure it also has other, smaller nifty features but that's the brunt of it.Wow. What an awesome package.
What exactly is a Viper-GC mod chip though?
Google "the cover project".Anyone have a link/could make me, a normal case sized cover art for Bloody Roar Primal Fury. Just looked at it on my shelf and that gamestop box is annoying.
Ahh. Nice. Probably way out of my price range then, unfortunately. Haha. Thanks! It's one of the early GC mod chips, allows it to play any backups on mini-DVD as well as any region games. I'm sure it also has other, smaller nifty features but that's the brunt of it.
I'm not looking to make a killing or anything, probably $250+shipping for the whole set. I figure $120 for the cable, $70 for the modded cube, $30 for the Wavebird, and $30 for the player.Anyone know a place to buy replacement cases?

Not bad at all. You should post in the buy/sell/trade thread here. I guarantee you'd get that.I'm not looking to make a killing or anything, probably $250+shipping for the whole set. I figure $120 for the cable, $70 for the modded cube, $30 for the Wavebird, and $30 for the player.
I'll even throw in a memory card or some shit.
