^fuck, really? now i'm bummed...let's go rob that guy last page who had like 3 of them man

for real though, gonna keep an eye out for you man. i keep waiting to see one of these CL listings slippin'.

Yeh, had a friend who called today and was told they sold out 2-3 weeks ago. I kept telling him months ago to order but he never did. I feel super annoyed and bummed out for him, grr.

Who the fuck makes a cable with a chip in it?! Goddam Nintendo. I'm glad I got mine, but it would only make more people happier if we could all just use a more standard cable.

Hello, I was thinking to buy Sonic Mega Collection. I've seen it's widely available and cheap, and also read the emulation is almost flawless. I never bothered with Virtual console Sonics because of them being 50Hz here in Pal-Land, but SMC should run 60Hz. (don't know if they even output 240p, that would be great but I think no)

Any reccomendations wether I should/should not proceed?

This makes me want to go send a care package to my aus buddy, took him months to ship it but he got em almost same day I told him.

Wonder if any other nintendo might have em or have we exhausted all other places by now?

Got myself a white gc controller. The thing feels great. I wish there was an atomic purple casing though that I could swap it out for.

I have both Rebel Strike and Rogue Leader. I think I beat Rogue Leader back in the day, so I'm starting to play Rebel Strike because I don't remember getting very far in it. So far its been decent, but I know the general opinion is that Rogue Leader is way better.

Should I just go back to playing Rogue Leader or is RS worth a playthrough?

The N64 version is so much better than the one on GameCube.

The most stunning racing game on the GC is easily F-Zero GX. This is especially true when you play it in progressive scan.

I just bought wave race blue storm for 8€ in good condition. But yeah i remember being impressed with the n64 as a game, but graphic wise the gamecube version is fantastic...

I don't think the GBA player is an emulator, but instead, you attach an actual GBA to your GC. Not sure though.

It definitely has the GBA CPU. Not sure what the other chip is, can't make it out but it looks similar to a chip in the GBA (though labeled differently) along with the CPU. Could be the WRAM, but it doesn't look like a RAM chip to me.

If I recall correctly, the GBA mostly operated on the CPU, and did not have a GPU, correct? It also used the CPU for sounds too. I think.

I remember buying the gameboy player and thinking it was quite expensive, explains why when it has gba parts in it but I was also in my first job and money was tight, heh.

This is one of those add-ons I am glad to own yet never really used it often, only played metroid fusion and the sonic advance 1 and 2 on it before moving away from home for college so I missed out on playing later titles on the thing.

What was the official price on these things? I bought it for $55. If you have a lot of GBA games left, I see it as the best way to experience GBA games.

Doesn't the GBA Player drop frames or something obnoxious like that? I was all set to buy one, and then I found out about that and just bought a GBA SP.

Yeah, Pal version at least is a piece of junk. Bought at launch, left me very very underwhelmed. Frame skipping and ultra blurry picture, resold immediately.

Just a random question, but what do you guys think are the "classic" Gamecube games? Obviously Mario Sunshine, Wind Waker, F-Zero GX, among other first party Nintendo games, but what else?

And what about the hidden gems? I'd classify Baten Kaitos as one, but I'm sure there are more.

Melee. It's synonymous with the Gamecube. The list of "other first party games" is stellar. Can't just lump Prime 1 & 2 in a phrase like that! :)

Monkey Ball (1 & 2). REmake. And obviously RE4, though you can play that on plenty of other systems. Rogue Leader.

And there are a bunch of great cross-platform games from that unbelievable generation that are as good or better on Gamecube: Burnout 2, Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, Prince of Persia; The Sands of Time, Spider-Man 2, among others. Pretty subjective, though, so to each his own.

Hidden gems? I don't know how "hidden" anything is this side of imported games...Darkened Skye isn't bad at all. That's the Skittles game.

I have a Japanese GCN game where the cover has a green duck on a helicopter like thing. A friend recommended me to buy this game, and I COMPLETELY forgot the name. Haven't tried it either, so I don't know how it plays.

Does anyone know this game.

Sounds like Kururin Squash.

And if it is, your friend's recommendation was spot on.

Yep, that's the game alright. How does it play, and how good is it?

Yeah, the Kururin series is great. You play as the duck in that ship thing which, in the game, appears as a stick that's constantly rotating. Your goal is to maneuver that stick through mazes without hitting any walls or obstacles, and it's really fucking difficult. You can change directions, but apart from that, the mechanics couldn't be any simpler. Even so, it's a really fun, surprisingly addictive little game. I'd recommend it.

Hmm, sounds fun. I just ordered it from Play-Asia, surprised they still have Gamecube games in stock!

Oh man, I actually agree with that, lol. Sending PMs and all is cool I guess.

How is the GBA version of this game?

Speaking of Kururin, other Japanese exclusives worth investing in:

- Giftpia
- Nintendo Puzzle Collection
- Homeland
- Bleach
- Donkey Konga 3
- Mr. Drill Land

Hey guys, I'm wanting to sell my black GameCube DOL-001 (modded with Viper-GC Original), matching black GameBoy Player (w/ disc), and the component cable + power cable + a/v cable, and one grey WaveBird. All items are pretty much mint/great condition.

Any interest? It pains me to part with my baby, but I think it's time I just deal with Wii component playing GC games, as I need the $. I know what this stuff is worth, and wouldn't mind cutting someone on GAF a decent deal while still getting a fair price.

I'm happy to provide pictures to anyone who PMs me interested. Willing to ship in the continental U.S. for the true cost of shipping.

Anyways, yup..just shoot me a pm if anyone is interested.

Never played the gamecube version is it really that bad?

Bad is way too harsh IMO (would probably give it something in the 70s/100), I just found the feeling for the snow and especially the track design better in the original. I would love a HD remake with overhauled N64 tracks included for WiiU.

Wow. What an awesome package.

What exactly is a Viper-GC mod chip though?

Thanks! It's one of the early GC mod chips, allows it to play any backups on mini-DVD as well as any region games. I'm sure it also has other, smaller nifty features but that's the brunt of it.

Anyone have a link/could make me, a normal case sized cover art for Bloody Roar Primal Fury. Just looked at it on my shelf and that gamestop box is annoying.

Oh and is does anyone have some tips on how to display gamecube on a HDTV with just normal SD cables? I know it will look like crap but for some reason my Dreamcast and PS1 look "fine" but Gamecube looks super muddy and just... not right no matter how much I mess with it (I end up tweeking the settings every time I turn the damn thing on)

Anyone know a place to buy replacement cases?

Ahh. Nice. Probably way out of my price range then, unfortunately. Haha.

I'm not looking to make a killing or anything, probably $250+shipping for the whole set. I figure $120 for the cable, $70 for the modded cube, $30 for the Wavebird, and $30 for the player.

I'll even throw in a memory card or some shit.

Not bad at all. You should post in the buy/sell/trade thread here. I guarantee you'd get that.
