How good of an investment are the Wavebird controllers?
What and the hell has happened to Gamecube stuff in the last 6 months? I went to a local store and saw Gotcha Force for $50 and thinking they were overpriced, checked ebay. I was shocked to see it was going for even more than that. The damn prices are skyrocketing. I got that game for $10 in 2011 or so when Gamestop kept running their B2G1 free Gamecube sales.
Since when did the component cable go for close to $200? For the longest time it was $50-75. AHHHHHH!

Anyone know what my best bet for getting a replacement Gamecube game case is? I bought a game but the case turned out to be in pretty bad condition. I was thinking I would try and find a cheap shovelware game that's has the case in good condition but if I can buy the case itself then maybe it would be easier to go down that route.
eBay. You can get a bundle of empty cases for cheap.
I am trying to make my whishlist for Gamecube games so I can start the hunt. I am interested mainly in Nintendo published games and exclusive 3rd parties.
I heard that Disney Sports games (published by Konami) are pretty bad. Really? Should I avoid them?
Does anyone know if the 3rd party "shockwave" wireless GC controller works? It caught my eye because of the giant dpad. Has to be better than the original gamecube, right?

Solution to the expensive hori controller?
Is there any reason why we dont have an N64 thread?
#realtalkIt sucks.

Make one!
I think that the N64 is one of the consoles I don't anticipate collecting for though. It had it's share of fantastic games, but being able to source a controller in working condition seems rather difficult :\
On the topic of GameCube, I managed to find copies of Double Dash and Mario Smash Football locally yesterday. Double Dash I have owned, but my copy just up and disappeared at some point, and Smash Football I've never tried, looking forward to giving it a go.
There would be no challenge in collecting for it. You'd only have to find about a dozen games, a Rumble Pak, an Expansion Pak and a Controller Pak.

eh...ive got about a dozen at the top of my list, granted, but almost 30 titles overall i'd love to have, that's a pretty strong library by me. kinda salty today cause i just barely missed a craigslist for Smash Bros, Star Fox 64, Goldeneye, 2 others and a game shark for $50, wouldve been all over that.
yeah, sounds about right...i know i was well into PS1 for most of that gen too, though N64 oddly turned into this great FPS box. speaking of: can anyone tell me what games i'm looking at in this listing? i can't say much for certain past Donkey Kong.
BoomIt sucks.

Its got Ogre Battle and some awesome Treasure games, so doesnt suck by default.
Hmm just at a glance Jet Force Gemini, Cruisin USA, Turok 1 and 2, Kirby Crystal Shards...
Shadowman and Rogue Squadron too, i can't identify the rest.

Yeah, Real talk, Sin & Punishment, Mischief Makers, Ogre Battle 64, Paper Mario, F-Zero X, and a couple other games (we're not counting games that have gotten superior ports, of course) are sweet, but the system's pretty dismal overall. It's really only interesting to talk about collecting for it when you get into the 64DD stuff... which is lame as hell, but interesting.
It's one of those consoles that holds up with an attractive library, but that's only because said library is small enough for anyone to observe in its entirety. I'd say it has ~20 excellent games that totally justify owning one, but I also remember the terrible release schedules back in the day. It's only now that everything's released and available that it looks interesting.
You guys saying the N64 sucks are all insane, I want to make a N64 Appreciation & Emulation Thread to prove you all wrong.
My current GameCube collection:

On my list to buy:
- Mario Strikers
- Mario Superstar Baseball
- Billy Hatcher
- Zelda: Twilight Princess (I have the Wii version, but not Cube)
Any games that you think I may be missing??? Recommendations?
The N64 is, of course, the best console ever.
It's not Turok 1 and 2, it's Turok 2 and Turok Rage Wars. The last game is A Bug's Life (the others were identified already).

Cant hurt.
One thing that gets me is that Majora's Mask even with Expansion pak power is much blurrier than I remember it.
I might have just missed it in the pic but... Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. And Mega Man Network Transmission and Paper Mario 2.
is network transmission anything like command mission?
Yeah, and Network Transmission's kind of mediocre, too, just like Command Mission. It takes a CRAZY number of shots to kill enemies in NT, and the special items (battle chips) are all LIMITED-USE! It's just stupid design. The game is very difficult early on, as well. Sure, if you manage to stick with it long enough to get far into the game supposedly the game gets easier and more fun, but the difficulty and fun curves go entirely in the wrong direction, and I, surely like many people, couldn't take it for long enough to get to that point. It was a pretty disappointing game; I had higher hopes, for a Gamecube-exclusive 2.5d Mega Man game...Nah, it's a side-scrolling platformer with the Battle Network series' chip deck system for special weapons.
Kind of an inverse of Command Mission's "make an RPG out of a platform/action series" really.
please do, Seik! your threads are awesome, and if all goes well tomorrow, i'll be rejoining your ranks! wanna get back in on that library while it's still cheap.
is it now? hoping it's sharp upscaled, though i figure ill wait till the year's end just to see if we get a 3DS remake (can't be hard with the OOT work done, right?), because as it stands, everything i read says the N64 version is still the definitive take.
Anything I missed that I should add?
No, not really anything like Command Mission (outside of the fact that it's a GCN Mega Man oddity).is network transmission anything like command mission? and i 2nd your additions there, excellent collection NR1 but you need some darker stuff too like RE0/4, Killer 7, Eternal Darkness, etc!

Bloody Roar Primal Fury is loads of fun.
