I feel like you're intentionally reading that comment as literally as possible when you fully understand the intention behind the comment, which is really the important part.

Regardless of what you think of Emily Rogers, there's no doubting that there's a world of difference between someone like her and an official developer/publisher account.

Isn't it slightly different when it's at least 3 people from Twitter, all of whom have been proven to have accurate insider info in the past? Or are we just referring to that other thread?

Do we actually know that it is a woman? Has the Twitter account proven itself credible? Like in a sense where it agrees with logical rumors? In a sense where it pretends to know things about NCL's internal development teams?

Rogers is an opportunist clearlly. Rogers may know one thing, maybe a few things, but there's been several instances of embellishment and pretending to know everything.
 
I'm impressed that no leak-pics or something hasn't revealed yet if we are getting a reveal this week .. but who gives a f*ck whatever

Do we really need another NX thread? We have 2 going right now, and it's largely the same people discussing. A minor Twitter comment is hardly something that needs an additional thread just to tell us that "news is totally happening guys".
 
Even if you don't buy Emily Rogers (Even though she has been right before), NateDrake has been basically corroborating this on Twitter for the past few hours.

Our policy has been to not host threads about tweets from unofficial sources in general, regardless of whether they are considered trustworthy or not, because they have caused trouble in the past. There have been a handful of exceptions, but that is the general policy now.

People who don't take Emily's word don't have much reason to take Nate's instead tbh.

But when you add it to the Nintendo World Report guy and the dude from the french publication it's all adding up.

Nobody really knows, like many insiders (or "insiders") she's intentionally pretty vague, and I don't know that anybody is super sure who she is. That's the case with almost all insiders, whether credible or not.

She's historically had a pretty good track record, but she's holding two pretty big Ls right now with Mother 3 and some incorrect info on Zelda BotW. So it's likely she has connections, but her word shouldn't be taken as gospel on its own.

Not knowing all of her professional details isn't really evidence she has no connections, because that's basically how the game works.

Oh, like I said, her words shouldn't be gospel on their own, and she's definitely got a pair of big old embarassments in recent history.

I will definitely agree with the poster who labelled her as opportunistic, but wouldn't put her anywhere near the same camp as a lot of the wannabe insiders on GAF and Twitter.

She's a writer and journalist. She's written for Nintendo Force and seems to know several other journalists. She's a human. Why the hell are dehumanizing somebody by referring to her as "the account"?
 
In any case, this week should change some perceptions about her. If we have news, her credibility could increase; if nothing happens, a lot of people will use it against her in successive leaks. She also knows this, and did a bold move changing her twitter account's privacy.

A lot of her reports on NX have been backed by other reputable sources: NateDrake also believes something will happen this week.

I just follow the forum's slogan.

I see, I guess I can understand that policy. It's tough to keep track of insiders on social media and how accurate they have been/can be so it's probably best to wait for a trustworthy publication to back up the news before making a huge deal (thread) about it. Makes sense in general, yeah.
 
what did emily say about zelda that was incorrect? sorry i don't follow this stuff extra close, just curious why it seemed to discredit her so much

IIRC, she claimed it was fully voice acted, and you could pick Link's gender, both of which seem to be incorrect (no voice acting in the game outside of the trailer, no indication that Link's gender can be flipped).

EDIT: Well at least this time it was a post with some substance and not just a gag post.
