I set 1.7 and the legendary cars to download with auto shut off enabled. hoping to fire it up as soon as I get home from work now.

now the real question is, can 1.6 be deleted after 1.7 is installed? I hope so

You are right. But I did think it could have been something useful, I do have plenty of LAN parties at my place so Party mode, if done right, could have been a great feature. But yeah, what pisses me off most is that menu in the beginning, but it looks like it happened to even non-purchasers so I'll stop complaining about that.

Actually those toy cars are more appealing to me than the legendary cars (except for the 88 special). 9 cars for 1000pts is reasonable. I'll probably pick this pack up.

Yes. On 360, the updates are cumulative. 1.7 contains all the rest before, and you can delete all the ones before it.

Unfortunately, that's how the 360 version is setup. The PS3 gets the benifit of content packs that can sit on top of each other.

Of the Legendary cars, IMO the real star is not the 88 Special, it's the Nighthawk - what a brilliant car (they've even slipped in a computerised dash to the model). I can see myself using this quite a bit while I try to finish off my Elite license

Really? Hmm. Maybe I will bite and buy the whole Legendary pack instead of just the one car I wanted to get. I have about 14 more events for my Elite license, myself. Mostly stunts.
