Started playing the PC version a few days ago.
UGH! Menu control is crap. The game never explains how to control the menu nor how to restart the race. I mean, what the fuck is up with that shit? I had to resort to using the almighty google in order to figure all those things out. But who knows, maybe the game's menu control is actually pretty good and I'm just really dumb.
Anyway, beside that, the game itself is stupidly fun. The only Burnout I ever played was Revenge on PS2 and lack of sending traffic flying all over the place was dissapointing. It makes up for that by having no loading times (or extremely short ones that I conveniently forgot), retaining the takedown system and awesome slow-mo sequence when you crach your car full speed into a building or a wall or a bunch of cars.
The city looks beautiful and is a joy to ride through but, unfortunately, it's the source of many frustrations in a race. Because you can go anywhere, you can also take a wrong turn and end in Alaska instead of Mayami. Just imagine how much hair I have to clean up everyday because of this and how much broken keyboards are stuck in my closet.
I'm not very far into it (2 races left for B license) but I have a nice collection of cars. I managed to takedown all the wandering cars and now I have one that resembles a formula 1 model
I like BoP. It's a fun game to play when I have nothing else going on. 30 min. a day is the perfect play time for me.
