What up homies, I think I am buying this after work today for 360. I was gonna wait for the PSN download version because I would infinitely prefer to have a digital copy, but I must play!

Couple of questions, do you guys play the 360 version? I definitely want some people to play with online.

Is the bikes update going to be available for 360 tomorrow too? I thought I read somewhere that only the PS3 will get the update for tomorrow and the 360 update will come later. But I haven't found anything saying that since.

Should I wait for the PSN version? I could easily wait another month, but if it's gonna be a few months then maybe not.

I was gonna wait for the PSN download as well! But I did pick up the 360 version recently, and man, I would have paid $60 for this! As a huge fan of arcade racers (previous Burnouts 1 and 2, all Ridge Racers, all MSRs, all PGRs, etc), I wholeheartedly recommend this game.

Prepare for a lot of updates to download though, like 500Mb it seems like so far, and then this one coming up. I'm not too far into the game, but if it's all free content I'm not complaining at all.

If you plan to play online add me: GT=TerraRhythm...though I am primarily playing NHL 09 online these days.

If you're gonna busy with lots of titles this fall, then the wait for the PSN version will be more bearable. I just couldn't resist and gave in, that's why I picked it up. Though I'm glad I did.

Ah! You beast of burden! I was all set to not get it because I am literally 2 games away from finishing my backlog and now you're really making me want to just get the 360 version tonight. If my willpower doesn't hold and I get it, I'll be sure to add you. My gamertag is Phatcorns.

What the hell happened to my DTS support?

Just in case you haven't found out yet...This is from the criteriongames forum:
Hi

This is an intentional change based on some earlier issues that some forum users were having where they weren't getting any audio when they had DTS & Dolby Digital both enabled.

We've changed the game so it uses Dolby Digital by default if both are available. If you want to force the use of DTS instead, simply untick the Dolby Digital box in the PS3 audio setup.

Cheers
Alex

Got my Elite license this morning. I have had two events left for probably 4 months now but I just haven't sat down to get them. Now I just need to get the rest of the Road Rules and I'll be at 101%.

I just found a Steel Wheels code that hasn't been used. First person to PM me gets it.

Pm'd :D

Also, everyone: please use this thread to discuss the update, it gets confusing otherwise, we have 3 active Paradise threads right now...

I am new to this game, but enjoying it so far, and was wondering if the day/night cycle and weather change brought by the latest update are available when playing with cars, or is it only with bikes? If so, do you know why?

God I'd love a Steel Wheels code. I bought the game at launch and never got one. :( Gamestop ran out or some shit.

Both. But only bikes have time-specific events in Single-Player, I believe.

You can choose for it to be any time.

24-minute cycles.
48 minute cycles.
1-hour cycles.
24-hour cycles.
Match Local Time.
Force it to a current time.

THAT'S freedom.

Got a data corruption error on the new update. The game just crashed and when I restarted it a text came up saying that the downloaded data was unreadable. Should I download it again or wait till they get it fixed? And have others experienced the same problem?

I'm 18 wins from the Elite license :)

Great news! Now, where do I set this up? Do I need a certain license?

Bring up the menu (press START) and look around. It should be there somewhere.
Thanks, I think I did that, but I'll try again tonight... If anybody can be more precise about where to change the day/night cycle and the weather, feel free!

It's under the options choice, where Save/Load are and such. Like 4th option down.

gonna quickly jump in and say I'm not a big fan of the variable weather ..... only because it makes me crash all the time. This game is about visibility, seeing what you need to do to avoid crashing and night + fog makes it impossible to see... in itself awesome as hell, but this is burnout so... :p

I wish it would rain down though.

gotta ask - how do you do custom soundtrack in BP?

The bikes are just so much damned fun to play online with trying to set the fast time on various streets at night...last night we had 8 guys all trying to set the fast time on the same street...bikes zooming each way...occasionally....head on collisions, good shizzzz

I need to get the faster bike though...

I'm not too interested in going back to cars either (kind of gave up after Paradise licence, winning 110 more events for elite is too daunting). Though I did get my 101% on the bikes earlier :D Spent so long trying to do freeburn challenges, people always disconnecting >:

all of the special cars require specific licenses.

Thanks to the bike addon I got back into playing Burnout and finally got my Elite license.
same here.

edit: also, they never promised airplanes as playable. They just said it was something someone did one day and that it looked cool. They've never mentioned it since so I don't know where these damn rumors come from. (this is in response to one of those "other" Burnout threads that I don't reply to. Oh, and Shane as well. Damn you Shane, stop the fud!)

Looks like the medals. Mostly. And some are challenges. A good mix. But it does not require 102% or is it just me? No trophy for all roads ruled...

And what are additional content trophies? For the island when it comes?

I have a lot of trophies to go but I also already have done a lot of these. Kudos to Criterion for making them challenging but possible. :D

Yes, this looks like a good set of trophies. Many of the offline ones are similar to the existing Paradise Awards, but it looks like they also added some online-specific trophies to encourage multiplayer participation.

Well, after being kinda letdown by the demo..beign a Burnout player since the first one; decided to put this on hold..till ..some day...

After the many updates and still the ones to come, my interested started growing back, more to give a second chance..since the developer was putting a lot of effort into making a better experience and expanding it..

So, today (after all that in mind, and a friend of mine pimping the game) I decided to get (yeah new, not used.. :p ..so +1 on NPD I guess :p )..for the Xbox 360...already had all the updates saved..so..

Color me surprised.. :O!
Haven't slept many hours, had to work 5AM-2PM..came back, and played for 3.5 hours straight..and I didn't noticed..I didn't liked the demo, because it didn't felt like Burnout to me..but after playing the full game..darn..it's Burnout..but bigger, badder..just amazing.

Heh..sorry for doubting Criterion, you have me on Day 1 (again) for the next one! :)

So for this one "Send a Mugshot or Smugshot - Awarded for sending a Mugshot or Smughot to another player during an online game (requires a USB camera to be connected)"

Stupid question. My camera connects to my computer to upload pictures via usb, is that the same thing as what it's asking?

Are they handing out free trophies to fuel sales on PSN? Seriously, look at that list, and compare it to the 360 achievements (or the PS3 in-game awards). You need only 10 of each road rules instead of all 64, 3 takedowns instead of 500, 10 challenges instead of 250, half the smashes/billboards instead of all of them, 10 jumps instead of 50, 1 mugshot instead of 50, 50k in a stunt run instead of a million, 5 burning routes instead of all 35, and on and on and on. You don't even need the Burnout Elite license.

But hey, who can fault EA for cashing in on trophies when they're still new and shiny? It's just too bad that the pride of owning the platinum trophy will be pretty low with this game.

bune duggy said:
some of them are different and require friends though.I think almost any USB camera works on the PS3. Hell, the original EyeToy works and those are like $4.99 used at GS/EB.
Yup. If you have the PS3 version, you have no right to complain about those Trophies. On the 360, it's restricted to the Live Camera.

I've got 100% in cars and bikes and they are telling me I won't get the platinum trophy because I don't have a camera?
LAME

I've been replaying the 360 one to wrap up the achievements, and for the Hot Shots one, good lord, how the hell do I get it? I have 40 already (20 from race, 20 from takedown), but the last 10? No one does events or rulebreaker stuff online, and even if they do, no one has a camera.

Terrible.
