First non-stinker Tilke track ever?

They said it was meant to be a high speed track, but I'm not really seeing it with that last sector.

I have to do everything in my power now to go to Austin and get to hear the glorious singing of 18,000 RPM V8s in their 2012 swan song. I still remember the goosebumps from feeling and hearing that power for the first time at Canada this year. 10,000 RPMs, that is NASCAR territory. :(

Mark Webber has revealed in his book 'Up Front: A season to remember' that he had been driving with a broken shoulder since the Japan GP. He broke his shoulder in a mountainbike incident. Only his personal trainer Roger Cleary and FIA-doctor Gary Hartstein knew of the injury. Nobody in RBR, not even Christian Horner knew of his broken shoulder. Cortison-injections in allowed him to stay in the Japan and Korea GP's.

The injury is also known as a common skying injury and it was located deep in the joint. It sounds worse than it is, but fucking still.

yea no way. there are way too many tight corners and chicanes. looks actualy more on the slow side of the spectrum except for that very long straight.

Wonder how his shoulder felt after his crash in Korea.

He probably didn't feel much, not for several hours atleast, thanks to the cortisone. But it probably didn't help. I'm more amazed about how he kept it a secret from everyone at RBR. I can imagine not telling your rivals, but not your own team, or at the very least your team principal? He probably must've been really afraid that his championship position within RBR would've been at risk if he told them about it.

While it didn't seem to affect his physical driving ability, I wonder if it did emotionally? He definitely seemed a lot less confident toward the end of the season. Poor bastard :(

I hope those giving him a hard time at RBR feel like shit now :lol (as well as you bastards calling him soft at Korea. For shame.)

Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has proved the trauma of his recent mugging has not affected his sense of humour, or commercial nous, after making light of the incident in a new shock advert for watch brand Hublot.

Ecclestone suffered a head injury after being kicked and punched in the attack outside his London offices last month - with the assailants getting away with around £200,000 worth of jewellery.

But rather than hide away about the extent of his injuries, Ecclestone has used the incident to front a new ad campaign for Hublot - which is an official watch partner of F1.

In adverts that are due to appear in the Financial Times and the International Herald Tribune later this week, Ecclestone adorns the advert with a face shot of his injuries - under which is written: "See what people will do for a Hublot."

Wow, poor bastard. Sure he makes some boneheaded decisions, but that's pretty messed up.

Can't afford the watch, though. :lol

That's pretty insane. Major respect.

Webber haters be damned. He's a hard-arse, all you whiners about him in Korea suck.

Anyway, anyone think that picture of Bernie is strangely reminiscent of that Hans Fritzl mugshot? :lol

Meh, i liked the yellow renaults

Given that Renault's involvement is now solely as an engine provider, there wasn't really much of a chance that it would stay like that for 2011.

There's also no chance there will be two Lotus Renaults next year, let alone two teams with a black and gold livery.

roup Lotus has ramped up its involvement in Formula 1 by becoming title sponsor and a major shareholder in the rebranded Lotus Renault GP Team.

Well, also using the black/gold combination after Lotus (lolwat) is holding a contest to design a black/gold livery is kind of a dick move.
Red endplates are fail. And this 2 Lotus thing has got to be sorted, so pathetic.

This is such a fucking mess and looks so petty now.
This is just a public war between Bahar and Fernandez.
Group Lotus (Proton) buy into Genji Renault and then copy the livery that Tony Fernandez Team Lotus were to use next year.

Its all going to end up in court soon so we will see where this ends.

Um, I don't think I get it... where the fuck is my green/yellow Lotus? Is anyone even using that scheme?
Everyone wants the John Player Special scheme, just without the cigarettes.

This whole Lotus situation confuses me. We have Group Lotus (new Renault team) and Team Lotus (this year's Lotus). One Lotus is the old F1 team and the other is Lotus the car manufacturer, but which is which? Also, does this mean the end of the Renault works team and will they just become an engine supplier now? Or has Group Lotus just become a major sponsor in the Renault works team?

Nico Hulkenberg Q & A: Force India my best shot

Q: Which team is the most likely candidate at the moment?
NH: That’s no big secret. Force India is our best shot, but it is also no secret that quite a few drivers are trying to land a seat there. We are talking to them and let’s wait and see what develops.

Q: It seems that apart from the leading four teams, pay drivers are growing in number. How hard is it to find a place based on talent, rather than the money you bring with you?
NH: It has become much, much harder to open doors if your application does not come with a serious sponsor package and you really only rely on your talent as the sole ‘sales argument’. This is quite frustrating and somewhat sad - especially if you can show you have had a good season as a reference.

Lotus Renault: Petrov is first choice

Vitaly Petrov is the re-branded Lotus Renault team's first choice to partner Robert Kubica next season, but he must convince the team that he has the focus to perform consistently in 2011, according to team co-owner Gerard Lopez.

The 26-year-old Russian is set to re-sign for a second season with the team after scoring 27 points during his rookie year. But Lopez believes that he must still demonstrate that he has what it takes to deliver results every weekend.

"Our preferred choice at this stage is to continue with Vitaly, but he has to sit down with us," Lopez told AUTOSPORT.

India track looks like shit. All the fast sections bunched up on one side and slow sections on the other.

Typical Tilke shit:
Turn 1 looks to be a good passing spot but then you see Turn 2 which is a fast sweeping turn and a tight Turn 3.Half of the long straight is basically negated since its downhill, up hill part at the end might help a bit.
Turns 5-13 are awful for passing.
T14-15 might work but the straights are short.

Sutil & Hulk would be a decent pairing.
I think they'd pick their own rookie (Di Resta) over Hulk. Unless the Renault(Loltus) deal with Petrov falls trough and Sutil goes there, i don't see it happening.

Lame recently im always 20 minutes late when i come to post news :lol

Good changes overall (except for that whole mess of the engines).

- The re-introduction of intermediate tyres for 2011

When did they leave? Im confused.

Maybe they mean dry-weather intermediates and not the inters used for wet tracks.

But that doesn't make too much sens to me either.

Lots of small technical changes for next year; the technical experts will need to decipher them all.
More changes to the front wing deflection testing procedures and controls over the "reference plane", in reaction to the RBR & Ferrari front wing workarounds.

so a driver adjustable rear wing, but only when you are <1s from a driver in front, and only at designated spots on the circuit, as defined by the FIA? sounds bollocks to me. I suppose that means the guy in front can't adjust them so potentially you're a sitting duck?
