I don't know why, I'm not even a Nissan fan, but this would be awesome.Wax Free Vanilla said:Latest rumour doing the rounds is that Nissan/Infiniti is set to buy Red Bull Racing.
Announcement to be made on the 31st Jan, Red Bull (or Nissan/Infiniti) plan to launch their car on the 1st February.
New Hispania driver Narain Karthikeyan has revealed the team's 2011 car will not be ready until the fourth pre-season test in Bahrain - only eight days before the start of the season in March.

Well good news!, it happening all over again for 2011.
The Nissan branding for RBR makes sense rather than a sell-out.
Change from RBR Renault to RBR Nissan.
WorriedCitizen said:Sounds like a load of rubbish. Why would they sell their team as soon as they are succesfull? And why would they not sell Torro Rosso first?
They are independent from Red Bull Racing but are still owned by Red Bull. Afaik Red Bull has been looking into selling off Toro Rosso for quite some time now.Leunam said:Toro Rosso is independent from Red Bull now, I think.

and yeah, Nissan or Infiniti (depending on how hard Nissan is looking into pushing Infiniti to non-us markets) motor branding makes sense.

Burai said:No they don't, but they operate in a mutual partnership. The World Series by Nissan became World Series by Renault in the aftermath of the sort-of-merger, for example.
There is no way on Earth that Nissan would ever be able to do F1 without Renault support or without trying to buy into or sponsor what was Renault's own F1 team.
Seems weird at this point of the (pre)season as they would run the season with Ferrari motors.AndyD said:Do we maybe have the rumor wrong and Nissan is actually buying Torro Rosso? I could actually see that happening as well.
The highly respected Paddy Lowe has been given the role of technical director at McLaren, a job title that has not been used since the departure of Adrian Newey at the end of 2005. Meanwhile chief engineer Tim Goss takes on the role of director of engineering.
Its not always easy for outsiders to work who does what in the design and engineering process, so its best to refer to McLarens own description of what the changes mean: Paddy will continue to lead our technical strategy in his own quietly authoritative way, but his new role will afford him even greater levels of focus as he will be spearheading new and innovative technical projects relating to our Formula 1 future. Hell also continue to represent the technical aspect of Vodafone McLaren Mercedes within FOTA and with the FIA.
Paddys broader remit means that Tim Goss, our chief engineer on MP4-25, will assume a larger role within the car development programme. As a result, Tim now becomes McLaren Racings director of engineering.
Underpinning them both is Neil Oatley, a McLaren veteran who joined the team in 1986, and continues in his role as director of design and development programmes. Neil will set and execute many of our top-level projects as well as working tirelessly to bring new projects and upgrades to our cars.
So now you know! Since the departure of Newey Lowe who joined in 1993 has become an increasingly important member of the team.
Its great for Neil and me to be joined by Tim as another director on the technical side, he said in a McLaren statement. With the three of us, well not only be able to more efficiently spread our workload, but, through Tim and me, well also share race attendance.
Its very important to have senior technical management at the racetrack, because thats where you score the points, but, equally, if you spend all your time away then you risk overlooking some of the hard work that happens back at the factory.
Goss explained: I used to be jointly responsible for the direction of our cars with Pat Fry. Now Ive taken on both roles but theres obviously been some shifting of responsibilities within the team as, clearly, I cant do the work of two people.
As director of engineering, my role will be to co-ordinate a small team of project engineers who are responsible for the specification, design and development of our cars.

I think a certain someone disagrees with that. :lolManp said:F150 since this year we're celebrating 150 years of the unity of Italy.

Autosport Magazine report the Ferrari F150 will be a RedBull clone having Pull Rod rear suspension resulting in a tall narrow gearbox
-Red Bull-style nose, which will become standard this season, with more complex spoiler
-pull-rod suspension, as mentioned week ago
-narrow, tall gearbox
-McLaren-style sidepods - more curved sidepods and more air intakes to help cooling

I hear the new McLaren MP4-26 is looking 'Drastic' and very different to the 2010 car. ;-)
And even more, we can see Mercedes Benz simulator from hell (for Schumacher) - atleast looks like itGoldrusher said:In other news, Britney now has a beard !

This car had to be reviewed hugely due to the new regulations.
The front part is similar to the one from last year but we will introduce some changes during our tests.
As you can see the front part of the chassis has been raised and the suspension, too, we have studied the lower part in order to iprove the flow underneath the car which is very important for performance.
And due to the raising of the frame the driver will be sitting in a higher position and you can see also the engine snorkel is a bit higher in order to have the same performance.
If you look back on the sides you have stronger indentation in the lower part and in the central part you can see that. We have introduced KERS in the area of the fuel tank.
If we go back a little bit more we have different behaviour in terms of the diffuser. We have tried to improve this structure in aerodynamic terms so the diffuser is completely reviewed in the light of the new regulations. Its lower, its far simpler because the regulations are stricter.
And obviously we have this mobile rear flap. This is the first evolution and main target is controlling the operations of it, there will be strong development in that.
Yeah, looks it.Lucius86 said:Is it me or is the nose really tall?
