I'm sure that you could eventually get the hang of the game once again. Just jump into a few Social Slayer/Rumble Pit games and work on your game a bit. Hell, I'm sure a bunch of us would play with you to help you get your game back. GT is backflip10019, hit me up when I'm online.

But as I said, once teams actually find each other, the combat is great. The cover, the corners, the shootouts from the overlooks - great stuff. It's just an example of a counterintuitive map design.

I thought it was just 2 U's stacked over each other and one shifted over slightly

Yup, it is. Very straightforward in its layout and after a couple of matches you've probably figured out all the routes around the map as there are very little options. Some lasting confusion may crop up when you initially spawn because oftentimes you'll spawn looking down long hallway #2 and depending on how far along one hallway you spawn they may look alike.
with enough play everyone will be able to easily distinguish the hallways by the placements of boxes though.

Haha, I haven't played with you in a while. I've gotten a little bit better since I jumped up in sensitivity to 6.

Haha it comes back don't worry. I've been playing on and off recently and I just get by by using my brain. The aiming would come back if I did a whole week of non-stop customs but I don't have the time anymore :(

Haha but I know how you Brits feel now. I don't have internet here so I've been leeching off of my next door neighbors wifi through a bridge through my laptop that's stationed in my bathroom for a better signal haha

Will take any and all feedback to make it better/fix mistakes. I tried really hard to make it impossible to get out of the map (even with grenade jumping).

And thanks Bullfrog for noticing something in forge. It is now fixed

Did you also set up the map for CTF and KOTH? I have very fond memories of camping like a bitch with a shotgun and/or sword in the center structure. :D

set up for slayer, assualt, ctf, and oddball. no koth (even though it wouldn't be to hard)

That's what I thought. The only time I get confused is when I spawn in one of the two doorways connecting the main big hallways. D: Then I look around and it's fine.

This would also explain why 100% of the people who play Halo 3 are, without exception, gay pedophiles. Meanwhile, Killzone 2 players have lots of sex with adult women, except for the two women who play it, who can't be pedophiles anyway because there's no such thing as a girl pedo.

I see you're missing a blue block in there resulting in some definite asymmetry.

Was that in the original, or did you hit the budget/item limit?

EDIT: Huh, seems a bunch of blocks are missing there. Must have been in the original. Been so long.

It might just be that the missing pieces are set to spawn after a certain amount of time (after the screens were taken), so they aren't there yet. Or maybe Forge decided to kill them like I've had happen to so many ramps and double walls so far...so annoying.

I think it is just that pic, because you will notice one of the bridges is missing some platforms, but they were there when I was looking at his map.

Since everyone else is posting their Sandbox work-in-progress maps here,
i thought i would post some pics from the new Griball Arena construction site.


Myself and my assistant putting the finishing touches on the North wall.


Only the most skilled craftsmen using the finest tools were used.
All blocks were hand carved from a nearby quarry and carried to the construction site on the backs of enslaved Grunts.

Yeah, I do. Thankfully my buddy just had his Xbox break and had it returned in a perfect package to him. So, I'm just sending it back in the box his new one came in. The only thing that sucks is that my campus post office closed today so I need to wait till tomorrow to send it in.

So for some reason the first spawn is out in the middle of now where and players fall to their deaths. I can't find a spawn point anywhere, anyone else have this? I noticed that Bladed's Warlock remake also doesn't spawn players in the Crypt.

At first I wanted to try a BTB map but I think I was being too ambitious so I started on Refuge. It's basically Ivory Tower's slower brother. But a couple of friends were digging it today.

I put in as much hand rail I could so it wasn't as risky walking backwards. It ended up being bigger than I thought.

I'll be online tonight, we should get some GAf customs going. I'm stoked to try some of those maps on the list.

You need to delete the respawns from the specific game type. So if you change gametype to slayer in Forge, you can set specific spawn points just for slayer.

Specific spawns have a weird energy field over them so you can tell they aren't for all gametypes.

No offense but I suggest alot of you map makers go over to ForgeHub and look at their tutorials. You'll see obvious things like placing markers to align your objects(which by looking at your maps alot of you don't) and more advanced tips like interlocking and geolocking. Seriously, interlocking a ramp and box to make the transition between the two really makes the map play that more awesome.

Bah, map-making takes up too much time as it is.

Great idea guys. I now know what you guys were really up to that day when we got matched up in MM. Its nice to see Bungie continually embracing the Halo community even when Microsoft is practically doing its best to ruin it.
