Are the Halo 3 guides out yet? I wanna know if they sealed the last chapters or not? I dont wanna buy the guide when the game comes out and spoil the game.

lol.

o wait, People don't actually buy game guides do they? wow.

This is almost as outrageous as when that one guy said people of this thread would count on a reviewer to tell us if we should buy the game or not.

You don't play Squeenix RPGs do you?

I'm serious guys - the co-op thread required a title change and mod cleanup duty to keep it work safe. Please stop quoting that and posting more jiggle gifs. There's a hot girl thread on the OT for your viewing pleasure.

This concludes Ghaleon's Sandy Vagina Post(TM) of the evening.

My apologies sir. I just thought Scarlett would be a nice diversion for a bit.

Just asked my Gamestop and they told me that they are giving me my Halo 360 on saturday night and that it comes with documentarires from the Halo 3 CE, is this true? Also, they have 800+ preorders for Halo 3. I am definitely not geting the game at 12:00 :(

ouch, well at least you wont be lonely. My gamestop only has about 350 per-orders.

I forgot, 800+ preorder of the regular edition. I dont know the number for CE and LE, but i bet that added up they might be around 1000+. This is what I get for living in a college town.

Put your hand up if you're going to a midnight release.

I know I'm certainly not.

They don't do that sort of thing where I live. :(
Screw you. By the time I get my copy it will be 9:00 AM. So we are on the same boat.

I've got to get out of school to play my copy without my brain exploding. This also means I need a ride for the midnight madness. I'm so hucked.

Usually people use guides when they are stuck. And can't find a way around something.

If you mean something else, please say so.

Well, you can get through most Squeenix RPGs without needing the guide; the guides are mainly useful for their appendices, charts, and other useful reference material. (Although there are a couple of stupid decisions- FFXII's best weapon required that you not open 4 very specific chests throughout the game without giving you any means of knowing this beforehand. Of course, the weapon is entirely optional, so it wasn't too big a foul-up.)

That's enough of this particular derail.

My plans for the midnight pick-up have changed, so I'm snagging my Legendary Edition the next day. But such is life.

No. I played a lot of JRPG's back then and to do any sidequest you will need a guide, a forum, or some friend who has finished the game at least 3-4 times. I stoped playing JRPGS because of this. I still remember that good old strategy of start humping walls while pressing the X button in order to discover "secret items." HUCK! I hate those games.

I'm doing 12:01am pickup. I normally go to bed at 3am, so it wont hurt my schedule to badly. Plus, I got the 25th off, so I have a full day of Halo 3 goodness.

I hate all of you, I have to get mine at 1:30PM and that's only if I can convince the parents to pull me out of school early.
Don't worry, I'll be even later than you. I'll probably grab mine around 4pm PT after work on Tuesday. :P

TBH I am praying they will make a separate line for those who paid a Legendary Edition. Thats my only chance in hell to get a copy at 12:00 AM because otherwise I get off work at 11:00 PM and there is no way I can make it to the line in time. I might have to ask somebody to cover for me and start camping outside the store.

I have no idea when I'll be playing the game as I'm at the mercy of the Royal Mail and their frequent strikes. It'll be later than the US whatever happens.

That would be so nice.

Definitely playing it immediately after my purchase, and probably not stopping until I have class the next day.

where did you order it from ? if its gameplay or amazon you may get it on the day regardless.

Nobody answered my question. Does the Halo 3 360 comes with the documentaries of the CE? If so, I will be fearful of the spoilers inside it. I am picking it up on sat night.

Meh I buy guides for shooters with multiplayer modes. I like having maps of the multiplayer stages and knowing where the fuck everything is. I dont like being the idiot running around looking for the shotgun.

And the Shenmue guide (Yes i know Shenmue is old lol) had the last chapters sealed away to prevent people who bought the guide from spoiling the ending if they wanted. It would be nice if the Halo guide did the same thing but i doubt it.

And finally im going to the midnight opening in PR, did it for Halo 2 and gonna do it again. Plan on taking my Nintendo DS and writing obceneties to strangers through pictochat. :lol

It depends on the Gamstop. I know one where the store manger is having people pay for Halo 3 as they wait line, and I know another where the manger is making two separate lines for people that pre-paid in full and those that did not. In either case, you are better off it you pre-paid in full.

I know the guys, they are nice ppl. I bet they will come up with something fair. They told me that ussually MS would pay for ppl to do the launch, but this time Gamestop is handling it.

edit: hey Grecco, by PR you mean Paso Robles?

Where I live, the street date is the 26th. I've preordered the game online. It's likely to be dispatched two days in advance, as has been the case with one or two other games preordered from the same online retailer. If the post is slow, as it is on occasion, I may not receive my copy until the 27th...or worse -- and that's assuming it is dispatched two days in advance.

I've been to enough Harry Potter midnight launches to know that the line goes pretty quick when everyone is getting the same thing.

Oh shit... did I just admit to going to Harry Potter launches?

Oh well. Accio Halo 3!!!

We are talking about 1000+ people. Lets say that they are able to do 2 orders per minute and they have 2 lines. My worst expected wait time is of 250 minutes = 4 hours and 10 minutes. My only hope is for them to have a Legendary Edition exclusive line.

Harry Potter was the true BIG media event of the year. Halo 3 will be the runner up.

I'm glad I don't live in my old college town. The population is 140,000 and I believe there is only one location doing a midnight release. I feel really sorry for that store.

I know this WAY off topic, but I wanted to ask here first since EB/Gamestop is already closed for the night. I'm looking for a replacement part for my xbox 360.

media

I wanted to know if EB/gamestop sold that sliver piece that covers the DvD drive, or is any other place I could purchase or acquire it. Any help would be appreciated.

Well here is how my local Gamestop handles midnight launches.

After 9PM they are allowed to let you to "purchase" the game. This means you pay for the game, and you are given a receipt.

Once 12 rolls around they come out with the copies for the pre-purchasers, and then give them their copy after they get a look at the reciept. It usually takes no more than five minutes for these guys to be all cleared out. The rest are brought in at about five at a time to purchase their copies.

Long story short. Pay for your game at 9PM, and you will be walking out of their at 12:15 the latest.
