I usually just load up the map, run around all over the place and find where every weapon is..
 
Thanks for reminding me to call my EB to ask about their Halo 3 midnight preparations, mainly if I can pre-pay at 9. I should also probably ask how many preorders they have to get a good idea of how crazy it will be.
 
FWIW guys, when I did the midnight launch of Halo 2, they had two lines: one for people who had it fully paid off, another for those who did not. Guess which was longer? Guess which one I was in?

I my plan was to pay it off in full before getting into line, just to be safe.

I sense something bad happened.

Should I really pre-purchase legendary? Or do I inquire about how many Legendaries were preordered. If I'm the only one that pre-ordered would they sell it to someone else?

I'm hoping that, since I'm going to school (and therefore buying it) in Cleveland the lines won't be too bad.

I mean, people are too poor to own 360s in Cleveland.

Gamestop is supposed to hold per-orders for 48 hours. I think you get to beat them with a stick if they don't.

This happened to me as well. the paid off line took ages, the people who had not were done long before I ever got in the store....
 
Times like these that living in a small town pays off...there was maybe 7 people that picked up Madden at midnight, I really don't expect anymore than that for Halo either.
 
you guys are lucky my EB had only one line for Halo 2 that took about an hour, didn't get home until 1:30am
and if Halo 3 is anything like Madden 08 was(1 hour wait) then I guess you have to be there early..

buffalo is second poorest town in the U.S. and we are guaranteed to have lines. halo 2 launch had big lines.

i'm sure cleveland aint that poor.

Cleveland actually was named the poorest city in the country.
 
You guys are fucking crazy. For Halo 2 we got there about 3-4 hours early, were about a hundred people back in line, and it took us about 30-40 minutes to get out. And there was another Gamestop doing a midnight release half a mile away at the same time. Anything regarding what you GS is going to do, how lines are going to be split, and the number of people are extremely YMMV, but I think most of you are wayyyyyy underestimating the time and number of people.

Also, is my Gamestop the only one doing catering and a band? Seriously? That's insane. I'll be sure to take pics.

Probably about a hundred when I went for Halo 2 and there was another hundred easy over at the other gaming outlet in the mall. It was madness.

And it's going to be worse this time. I've said it before in here, but when I picked up Bioshock, my guy told me they had over 150 Halo 3 preorders and this is a store about fourty minutes outside of St. Louis. There are about ten EB/GS stores within a thirty minute drive in any direction. Tons of Wally Worlds, Best Buys, Targets, 7-11's. It's going to be nuts.

is anyone else excited as much as i am hearing this talk already of midnight launches. must be great halo-bonding time. might bring an ipod though to avoid spoilers. :|

Am I the only person here who is getting the poor bastard child that is the limited edition? Everyone I ask is getting either Basic or Legendary.

No, I'm getting it too. Can't really afford to spend £70 on the Legendary at the moment, and it's not like the Limited Edition doesn't come with enough stuff.
 
I heard if your getting the legendary edition you might not get it release night, so I might have to reserve the basic because my fiance has the limited reserved.

There are the H3 Wireless Controllers and Headset, The H3 360, and The guide. I think that is all.

I'm getting the Collector's Edition. $50 price tag (from Liongames) + Best Box + Bestiary= WIN. I don't need the cutscenes I already have or a cat helmet either.
 
One more question, does anyone know what that "Halo 3 Survival Kit" that Burger King is selling will be? A press release awhile back reveled that Burger King would be selling those for 10 dollars along side their Halo 3-themed food holders. Still though, I have no idea what it is and whats in this "Survival Kit". Anyone know?

yeah i remember this as well, never seen anything else on it to this point...my BK didnt even have the halo 3 stuff on saturday
 
Has anyone picked up the new Halo 3 wireless headset? My Best Buy has a bunch in stock but refuses to sell any of them until September 25th.
