Narpas Sword0 said:Two questions
1 is the charging port supposed to be scary deep? The charger finds its home but it seems like it was pushed in in a bad way as soon as i took it out of the ox
2 does a charging bolt appear on the battery indicator if the device is in setup mode? What about if i use a charger for a droid incredible?
I dont want to pass the setup screen or open the tablets cable in case i need to send this back to to hp. I want it to be clear i didnt do shit.
So i tried plugging in the incredible charger with the tablet powered off. I cant push it straight in, i have to sort of tip it down a little bit. The tablet turned on as if it was charging, but ther is no indicator to say that it is. i tried turning it off and plugging it in using an old palm pre phone charger and The ipad charger, and it would not power on automatically when plugged in. Now the incredible charger doesnt prompt it to auto power on either.
What should i do

No Android = no reason for me to have one.

The reason it lags out of the box is that everything you do gets logged. As mentioned earlier, follow the instructions here:
http://forums.precentral.net/hp-touchpad/293028-new-touchpad-heres-your-get-started-guide.html
and you will notice a drastic increase in speed and response. Takes all of five minutes to do, very simple.
Someone on the pre forums got a bad cable, maybe that's the cause? The port is recessed a bit, and it's tiny/awkward when you're inserting the microusb.

I got really lucky. I was scanning the store trying to find the Tablet accessories when an employee approached me and asked me what I was looking for. I told him that I was trying to find where they keep the tablet accessories, specifically mentioning that I had an HP TouchPad. He walks me over to the accessories and shows me the official HP stuff. Despite them being listed for regular price, he informs me that they're half off on the website so he'll just price match it for me.Valkyr Junkie said:What did you have to do to get them to price match that price? Wasn't it just on their site temporarily yesterday?
I've had it glitch out a bit on me. Like the home button wouldn't work as well as the volume buttons, so I had to restart. Also had an issue where pressing the home button just flashed a giant tap mark (the circle thing when you touch the screen) in the middle of the screen. Needed a restart as well.Jo-El said:I'm really liking WebOS so far. I hope HP doesn't abandon it.

Don't you need it to do the setup?

neojubei said:Nope it was it is slow. my ipad 2, iphone 4, laptop, printer, ps3, 360 seem to connect easy. Had to wait for a while but eventually it connected.
I do like the notifications. cannot wait for iOS to have this.

I'll let you guys know if the Griffin Elan Folio I got for $10 fits the Touchpad tomorrow. (If I knew the official case was going to go on sale at other places than OOS Office Depot, I probably would have just held off. I hope they still have them on sale tomorrow if this case is a bust).
TheExodu5 said:Then there's likely a hardware issue with your Touchpad. Mine connects in maybe 5 seconds. Or perhaps it was just a router hiccup?
neojubei said:maybe. Double tap doesnt end with a period, that sucks. The neogaf webapp doesnt work on the touchpad and typing sucks on this thing but I can see flash ads which is cool

You are correct. Playing Zelda and Metroid is decent enough, even if the former has its hitches and the latter even more so. Mario is nearly unplayable. I've been playing Final Fantasy 6 and Chrono Trigger lately because of this.Naked Snake said:How the hell would you play NES/SNES games without buttons? No, its not a large file, that's not normal. Cancel the install and try again.Shadowlink said:Anyone else having problems when installing Preware? It has been installing for over an hour so far. Is it a big file?
I did that a few times already. I even restarted the Tab, but that didn't work at all.Pandoracell said:No, its not a large file, that's not normal. Cancel the install and try again.
Have you correctly done everything prior to the install step, like activate dev mode?Shadowlink said:I did that a few times already. I even restarted the Tab, but that didn't work at all.
