I've only made it through 1 Tap Tap 2 song without it crashing.

Aren't Apple supposed to moderate games so I can only download software that works properly?

meh. Buyer beware. Or Downloader beware in this case imo. Haven't downloaded it myself. I'm sure there will be an update soon to fix bugs.
 
I suppose we could be happy he is just peeing...

It's free, so I don't really care, it just shocks me. You would assume "works" is a basic requirement.

At least Tap Tap 1 works.

I'm also certain their approval process is extremely light compared to the traditional console model. Especially with the number of apps that come through them. You have to rely on developers within this system to update their apps and fix issues almost like on a pc.

That's what I was worried about from the start. The crashes are at super random times too.

Oh well, wasn't the first Tap Tap like this at first? Hopefully patches can fix it :\

Did you reboot your phone/pod before playing? I seem to remember the first game having out-of-memory crashes.
 
^^I think the reason TTR2 is crashing is because your always playing online. So just give it a couple days or play offline (By going to the settings of the ipod/iphone and turning wifi off ) and see if that works.

Anywayz: Got TTR2 earlier. TTR1 was the best app I played and TTR2 is way better! Over 150 songs, awsome online, the news feed which shws friends progress, and so much more. AWSOME!!!

My Tapulous ID is the same as my username on here so if anyone weants to add me then do it! (You can only manually add names with the Twinkle app I think)

Gonna go ahead and say it, Block Knights is a terrible game and not worth the purchase. Man this impulse buying stuff is dangerous!
 
Anyone who likes Tap Tap Revenge 2, Tap Tap Dance is better. It's more stable, has a great track listing, wonderful boss battles, and all of the new mechanics in TTR2 debuted there and feel better due to the stability.
 
Racing games in some form or another appear to be a staple on the iphone platform. This is not an exhaustive list but merely a listing of the most popular or well regarded games of the genre on the platform.





Fastlane Street Racing. Probably the most well regarded racer currently on the platform. Very attractive game that feels somewhat like Ridge Racer. Lite version is available

Snail Mail. Not a racer in the purest sense of the word but Snail Mails involves blasting down curved and twisting tracks tracks while avoiding obstacles. Very good use of the accelerometer. Lite version is available.

Asphalt 4:Elite Racing. If Fastlane is spiritually Ridge Racer then Asphalt is more akin to Burnout as you work to sideswipe cars off the road. Good Arcade Racer. Licensed cars.

Ferrari GT:Evolution.While visually another street racer GT evolution actually ends up having a more sim feel than some of the other racers on the iphone. Promises an online multiplayer update in the future.

I've already downloaded it. Now I'm shopping for a book to try it out. You have to buy the books in the web browser, then access them through the app.

I'm in the US. Sorry, Canucks. :(
 
I'm not ready to spend $360, but good thing about Digital Distribution is when I get Kindle 2 (cheaper) later. My purchase will transfer.

App is free too :P

I downloaded Treasure Island, which was free(I didn't even realize they offer some free classics on the actual Amazon site) just to try it out.

Very similar to Stanza, not anywhere close to the featureset, but it's a 1.0 release, and the real benefit over Stanza is access to the Kindle library and the syncing. I might buy a few books. At least I know they'll sync if I buy a Kindle later.
 
It's amazing how seemingly each new week brings another wonderful innovation to the iPhone.

Just got my Kindle 2, and it'll be great to be able to leave the Kindle at home and use my iPhone for reading out in the wild.
 
This is a very smart move by Amazon. This app is the perfect "gateway drug" to draw people to the Kindle.

After checking out the store, and picking up a few novels (can't beat $0.99 1984 and Animal Farm), I'm seriously considering whether buying one would be worth it, which is a big jump from my previous indifference. I'll be keeping a closer eye on the Kindle.
 
Seeing that Kindle app on my iPhone is truly a form of torture. I hate reading on my iPhone because the screen/device is too small to read from comfortably. I couldn't imagine using this app solely, but it would make a great accompanying app for when you don't have your Kindle with you.

It's torture, because I don't own a kindle but realllly want one. That $360 price point is really hard to get past, and damn that friend of mine who just gave me a $75 Amazon gift card for fixing her computer.

I'm a little bit puzzled why they released this without support for the book store built right into it. It's weird to click on get books, and then be taken to a page that basically says "get them elsewhere."
 
Very nice. I already have read literally dozens of books with Stanza and the eReader.com app.. Will have a look at it. Impressions?
 
I bought 3 games yesterday Cooking Mama (not bad but sometimes the control sucks) IVampire (it's a waste of time but worth checking for the arcadey bunch) and Pocket God (I haven't played it yet so I don't know).

Most games don't really have a beginning, middle and end. That said, the games need greater scope and more depth. I played 1112 Lite today and I found myself really interested in playing more but the developers haven't released any more episodes so I don't want to invest in the full version until I know they are serious about the game and release all the episodes. That's the type of game that will take iPhone/iPod gaming beyond this association with short/disposable games if it hasn't already.
