Is there anything else to Star Ride besides what's in the demo?

Kinda fun and I've never seen a game like it before.

iPhone needs more great original games like Star Ride.

Seriously, shut the fuck up. You are the most annoying person in this thread, by far. Get a life.

ok I'm sorry guys I dont want to fuck up this thread any more than I already have.

You know what I figured out what it is. I'm on the time zone with you Euros. Everything is shut down on in the states right now so every time the thread bumped it seems like we're talking always about star ride.

my bad... I should just hop on the star ride bandwagon with everyone else.

go Star Ride! hell yeah!

NICE

Honestly while his complaining may have been annoying, everyone else jumping down his throat is just as bad or worse.

P.S. I know this because I'm guilty of it meself, wot wot.

Columns Deluxe is a piece of shit. I remember loving that on the Sega Genesis so either the iPhone port is shitty or the game just didn't hold up well.

It was nice of Sega to give it away for free over this weekend but I deleted it after just a few minutes.

Just beat Hero of Sparta. I'm now sad. It was a really good game though the ending was a bit underwhelming. The last boss took me only two tries.

Really? it was an OK game but I was getting bored half way though and it was way too short, it's a great game for $0.99 but the initial price of $9.99 was too much (I bought it at $4.99).

anyways I bought a few games this week but playing WordFu the most it's an awesome game which reminds me I need to buy Bookworm.

Is it just me or is it really fast?

yeah it was hardcore from the start, surely it wasn't like that originally?

Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine certainly wasn't that fast on the Mega Drive.

:lol I can't believe how much you like it, but hey, I love Terminator which quite a few people don't enjoy.

I still haven't played through it and probably won't. Not fun enough for me. Working on Assassin's Creed right now, I like it despite frustration when the game won't obey me. It's not the iPhone's fault, the game just doesn't always listen when I want to jump off a wall in a certain direction or run and jump instead of running off the ledge and auto hanging from the ledge.

Just bought Radio Flare. Ok, this game is great. While I do wish that it went just a little deeper with what it is doing, maybe synching the music more directly w/ your destruction of enemies, or providing different kinds of powerups, for example. But for only $1 this is an amazing pickup. The diversity of experiences with iPhone games continues to astound. :D

I am so sorry you had to go through this terrible time in you life!!

The accelerometer mode is terrible.
The touch only mode is okay.

I guess the iPhone is not suited for such a game.

Sea Captain!

Quoting a fellow Touch Arcader:

itunes link - 99 cents

-- Opening Sale Price! --

Think you've got what it takes to sail the high seas? Can you bring ships home to port in the dark of night, guided only by a lighthouse? Is that old sea captain really a pirate?!

Answer these questions and more in this action game in the same genre pioneered by Firemint's Flight Control.

Features include:
- Three beautiful seas to navigate
- Day & night adventures
- Varying weather effects
- The ability to fast forward
- Moving obstacles such as icebergs
- Global high-score leaderboards
- Pirates!

What else would you like to see in version 1.1? Let us know in your reviews.

So... Flight Control will end up having spawned a whole damn genre on the iPhone?

(that one looks pretty cool though)

Anyone play Dirt Moto Racing? Looks like an iPhone version of PURE

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKiPqFFjSss

To be honest it looks ALOT like pure... Text, enviroments, the movements the characters make ect

Haven't played it but I always thought Aqua Moto Racing was a pretty good underappreciated racer from the same devs. I wish they would incorporate some online play in their games though. If it had that it would be an instabuy for me.

Devs will always copycat what is popular. Flight Control is still the #2 selling game on the appstore so its an easy target to clone.

I liked Hero of Sparta because it was a mindless beat em up. Also the weapon upgrades did a lot of things especially the last 2 blades you get as a weapon. But I bet most people never got that far.

circuit strike one is pretty fucking awesome for a shooter. can someone explain the advanced controls? the instructions are terrible. rank 103 baby!

Hey, all.

Right now, Taxiball has 39 followers on Twitter.

EDIT: The rules I posted before didn't make any sense! *facepalm*

Alright, so let's try this again.

If Taxiball gains X followers, I'll give away Y promo codes:

50 followers, 1 code
100 followers, 3 codes
200 followers, 5 codes
300 followers, 10 codes

If you want to be eligible for a code, tweet something with @taxiball and #gaf. I'll randomly select users (as soon as the threshold has been crossed) from the eligible tweets.

...and while you're at it, add @selfawaregames, too!

Good luck, and happy 4th of July!
seppo

We're at 46 followers - 4 away from a free code!

EDIT: Also, in order to not overly spam the thread, I won't post this kind of update more than once a week...

Radio Flare is fun and all, but come on - just give us a real Rez port complete with full MP3 soundtrack and vibration. Surely the iPhone can handle a bit of wireframe 3D!

SEGA Columns is free this weekend, i'm sure you guys already wrote this a thousand times but if it's a useful piece of news to even 1 guy, hopefully that's ok.

I'm tempted but I hear it was a real dog of a port.

Billionaire does Columns like play much better IMHO.

Do not download Columns! Its garbage, basically an old-ass cell phone port.

Radio Flare, on the other hand, is keeping me quite entertained today. Can't quit playing.

I just bought Hero of Sparta and Sally's Spa when they were .99. I have yet to try Sparta but Sally's Spa is great. It's kind of a Diner Dash rip-off with a little more substance. Perfect game to waste 5-10 minutes on.
