Anyone have any impressions on Wolfenstein RPG? Just want to make sure it isn't a pile of crap before buying. Reviews look okay and the length seems right as I hate really long RPGs.

Not really a big fan of RPGs and I quite like Wolfie RPG. It's basic and fun in short spurts.

I just finished Mystery Mania this morning. I don't usually go for puzzle games but this game is awesome, didn't want to stop playing until I had finished. Highly recommended +++

Grabbed cobra command for 59p, feel sorry for those who paid a few quid only the other day when it was released... This people is why buying on day 1 is worth it ONLY if you reallllllllly want it there and then.

To be fair, Cobra Command was never meant to go on sale so soon. An error caused the screenshots on the appstore to have broken links, thus their sales plummeted (or stayed down - who's going to buy a game with no screens?). Once they had been corrected, the damage was already done. To attempt to bring it back to people's attention, they reduced it to 99c.

it's a different world that's for sure. love people complaining about a relatively full featured and quality game being $2 instead of $1. :lol

also popcap needs a way bigger presence. maybe the pricing is the issue? obviously they've sold a ton of bejeweled 2 but i'd love to see an original title or at least a port with significant additional content. i'd play $10 or more popcap; and laugh at everyone balking at the price!

I had it for a regular mobile phone, it was a lot of fun and not too long.

Now that royaly sucks :( Was it an error on their side of things with the images or apple's itunes setup?

In other news I like modern combat but also hate it, enemies will spot you from a mile away and well playing on a touch screen is not the fastest for reactions and such. Once I hit the sewers though the game became more run n gun and it feels a lot better like that. Since Nova is a more running and gunning game I look forward to it even more, but first I will finish modern combat.

I finally got hip to a touch last week and this thread is truly a blessing for me. I never really considered the touch/phone a gaming device but that opinion changed in a matter of minutes after browsing and downloading a handful of games.

Just curious, but what's the average battery life when using a touch strictly for gaming? I do the occasional facebook, youtube and safari use on the thing, but damn if gaming doesn't seem to suck the battery dry.

Eliminate Pro is actually kinda fun. I tried it for a few minutes when it first came out and quickly dismissed it. Now I just finished playing it for about a half-hour and I'll definitely go back to it :D

I Dig It 2 is also fantastic! :D :D

so is geoSPARK basically eliss?

No...your post and the 99 cent price made me bite. I was hoping it would be Eliss with pretty graphices. It's just a matching game. No growing or shrinking, and you can just tap them to destroy them (they don't have to meet to be destroyed). It's nowhere near as deep as Ellis. It's simple like Orbital is simple. One mechanic, just frantic matching and destroying before things drift into one another.

I'm thinking of buying Ninja Honda Karate, and Beat It! Anyone tried these?

Also, I checked the videos for Red Conquest. OMG, the game will be great.

Can't speak about NHK, as for Beat It!, I dig it. I like music games, and I like beat making machines/programs (though I only toy around with the games like KORG or Beaterator or my cousins and dad's machines and programs). Not sure if you need to be familiar with these kinds of elements, but I doubt it. It's present well, like Korg-DS or Beaterator or any of the various flash apps out there.

Objective is to re-create the beat/song you heard. If you're a musical klutz you may want to stay away though, since you will need to listen to each individual instrument/sound and be able to place them in the right order and time. I mean you can play through trial and error, but if you take more than 30 - 60 seconds depending on the challenge of the song you won't score any points beyond those of getting power-ups. And I don't think that'd be very fun. Also, play with headphones.

Been playing song summoner and creating the troops from songs is kinda fun, does the same song always produce the same trooper?
No. Which is why I don't understand why they did what they did. The iPhone still doesn't have the ability to let apps analyze the songs (still no Audiosurf because of that or any game that actually plays like it).

You are likely to get the same named trooper, but the stats will change -- but i've gotten completely different troopers too. (just tried it and got Spotlight Kid from the same song three times, one silver, two bronze).

Kind of a super-gimmick instead of just a gimmick :p

Does wordfu not work for anyone else? It crashes as soon as I load for at least a month now. :/

Works fine for me on my 3G and 3GS -- hadn't played it in a while though. Sounds like something got corrupted in your prefs/saves for the game. I'm sure you've tried removing it already?

If your phone was jailbroken I'd say SSH in and delete the folder for the game after removing it (because if you remove it and add it and still experience the same problem it's not all being removed). Not very easy to do unless you're familiar with the unix find command though.

I'd suggst doing a full wipe, and just install the latest 3.1.2 again and NOT restoring. But that's not a very good solution as you'll lose notes, pics etc... I think you can back those up in OS X though. But can't recall.

man... MiniGore is so good now... yes it was lacking at launch and even after episode 2... but damn, the new update us superb.

For all you who initially downloaded it and disliked it, get it now with the update.

The weapon leveling up and new pacing makes it so much better.

Side Note:

FriendsWithYou App is coming along nicely. Mostly working on art assets now over everything else.

I spent most of Thursday building noses for it... dont ask ;)

Mine isn't jailbroken and I finally got regular wordfu to load but the plus version still has never loaded into the game. I got one of them to work so I guess I'll just deal with it.

I don't think I downloaded the Plus version actually. Let me try that :p.

And yup, it works. Very strange.

I completely agree with you, and have for some time. I'd love to see some premium content, and would be more than willing to pay $10-$20 for it. Unfortunately the $.99 whiners are the majority.

As for Popcap, Plants and Zombies is on the way. I've been dying to try that game out, but I'd never play it on the computer.

Decided to take a risk and buy Song Summoner. Played a few levels and...I think it's alright. Maybe even kinda good. Seems kinda basic as far as SRPGs go, but I'm still early in the game, so maybe it gets deeper as levels progress.

Basically you go through your music library and pick out songs to create your soldiers, or Tune Troopers as the game calls them. It's not clear exactly how a song affects the type of Tune Trooper it creates, but I have a feeling that it's pretty much random. I think there's 5 different jobs your Trooper can be, but you can't select the job yourself. Each trooper has a limited number of times it can be deployed, but this number can be increased with an item.

All missions in the game seem to have turn limits, but the couple I've played gave more than enough time to complete them. Like I said before, it's all very basic. You deploy your units, then proceed to attack the enemy using a standard attack or job specific skills that consume SP. There seems to be some sort of rock-paper-scissors mechanic going on between jobs. For example, knights are more effective against mages, and so on. After battle, you are given a rank based on the number of turns used, how many units you lost, damage taken, etc. You are then given gems or something that you can use to rank up your soldiers.

I suggest downloading the demo before shelling out $10. The game is fun, but feels kinda basic and easy. The presentation is nice, and the storyline is kinda ridiculous with references to music everywhere. Definately planning on playing more:)

Holy crap, I saw a video and it looks awesome.
It's only $0.99/€0.79 so I impulse-bought it.

I never played the original but this game is hard! I keep dying and I'm not sure why.
Probably not steering in the right direction or getting shot. This is beyond Demon's Souls difficulty, this is like Demon's Souls NG+++ with a Vitality score of 30 or less. Getting pwned in one shot.

But the tilt controls are pretty terribad. Sometimes they work, other times they don't. I need some kind of calibration or something, and some assistance in knowing what I've tilted. I can play Glyder fine, but this game...makes me shake my head when I die because it didn'dt register my movement (how far do I have ot change the angle to register "up"? Also a test would be nice, normal and inverted...if I tilt it forward, is that up? or down? with normal controls? and same for inverted, I sitll don't know).

Isn't there an option to turn them off? Think I'm just going to do that.

yeah but it's actually even crazier then :p. You point the target reticle in the direction it wants, and keep it there the entire duration of the maneuver. And the reticle moves pretty slowly. There's some back to back turns that you'll die at because you run out of screen to drag the reticule all the way across. Of course you'll get it next time because you'll prepare, but that's not exactly good game design.

OMG pirates is a pretty good game from mika mobile. I pretty sure a lite version will be out soon since Zombieville USA had one.

hey guys I've got a quick Ipod touch related question. You see I'm about to buy an ipod touch but I'm not really sure wether or not I should buy an 8gb 3rd generation or the 32gb one ( which I assume is the much faster one regarding performance ).

I'm not really looking to play all that much BUT I would like to be on the "safe" side in case the future of ipod/iphone gaming has something very sweet in store for me, something only for the people with the faster ipods.

the prices here are as of the today :

8gb 240$
32gb 400$

So, is it worth to spend 160$ on more storage space ( which I absolutely do not need ) and a much (?) faster cpu/gpu(?) ?

Thanks in advance

CHUZZLE from PopCap is out!

It's like Bejeweled, but with little furry creatures!
From the screenshots, the aesthetic is doing nothing for me. Thanks for the heads-up, though.

And speaking of aesthetics --- WOW, is that free Appvent game Ickle Count UGLY.

Are the load times terrible in the full version too? The lite version's load times are way worse than the iPod classic version's.

From TouchArcade

Video
http://youtube.com/watch?v=mz1mfJ4R5N0
From the video the control looks good
and there is more modes than the 360 version cant wait .

This Thursday PixelJunk Shooter (PSN) and PacMan :D

edit:
Why Namco ?

Looking at Pac-Man there appears to be a bunch of new content not in the XBLA version. And that really makes me want Namco to push out a new Pac-Man CE for XBLA ('cuz I'd buy it!). My fear with the iPhone version is the control. When you get really far into Pac-Man CE you have to make pretty precise movements 'cuz the game's going so fast -- and on a touch screen you'll have to keep track of where your fingers are and that just seems like a nightmare to me.

If it's under $5 I may still buy it, but.... I may have to wait for the PSP Minis version instead (and hope that has all that content too).
