Death Toll on expert with Capndrake and various others, including Dygit and fallout and others.

Drake got jumped by a tank on the bottom outside the house at the finale. So I jumped on the tank's head and melee'd him a few times. Then I was in the water. I died.

But Drake lived!!

I will never forget your sacrifice :(

Which version are most people here on GAF playing? I've been playing the 360 version with friends, but I'm kinda curious about checking out the PC version.

I killed a tank by myself on Expert in the sewers when the rest of my team was dead and didn't get the achievement. I feel so robbed.

Being able to shoot a victim to free him from the Smoker solves a mystery I had with this game. There have been numerous times I'd get what I thought was a nice snare and have him be freed "mysteriously." I was beginning to wonder whether there was some advanced melee attack a "victim" could perform to suddenly free himself.

I played this with some friends over a LAN for the first time last night...

Damn, awesome game!

I don't think I've ever had such a fun co-op experience. I can't really envisage playing this on 360 though, it's so fast.

New Infected class please.

:( buh buh buh VS IS AMAZING

I enjoy it a little more than coop

PS. Boomer > Tank :D

I felt like I was attempting to play CS again, where I just let me team down and caused problems. Unlike TF2 where when I was learning I could still help out. I dunno, I'll give it some more tries.

The maps that we have to download, are they the official reworks of the two campaigns? The reworks that'll fix the balance issues?

Going by the link in that link, a poster at left4dead411.com made them. Doesn't say if he added the 'claw ladders' or not.

Also in that thread, someone mentions that Valve could ban you for using them:
But I think I'm going to wait for the sdk to come out before I start downloading custom content. Just because even in cs, if you download new skins even... You risk getting your account VAC banned... :/

I can't risk loosing so many games... haha

I have no idea how true that is.

I can't wait to get my lappy back. You guys are having so much fun w/o me :(

So that's why you reject every invite I throw at you? Was wondering. :lol

man versus mode is really hooking me, awesome series of close games i had... game down to a clincher where the other team needed to have its entire team survive and they had all got to the safe room, but for some reason one of the guys re opened the door, getting boomed... allowing a smoker to pull one of them out of the room, and both hunters pounced on the remainders.

They all died.

Evvvvvvverrry fucking time... There's always one idiot who refuses to get in the escape vehicle at the end of the campaign. :lol

Ugh. Just ran into this guy who kept voice spamming no, had a porno spray, and kept team wounding all of us at really bad times. Ended up having to incapacitate him, but we still won.

The round doesn't end immediately after everyone is in the safe room and the door is closed in the 360 version? If everyone is in the room and the door gets closed on the PC one, the screen gets blurry and players can't move as the round ends right then. Maybe someone was still outside? Or got unlucky and hit the open/close button twice so the door re-opened?

I hope they can patch the game and allow the safe rooms to be save spots or something. I'm trying to do the expert campaigns, but they're a huge timesink...I just can't always play for hours on end, same with the people I play with. The finale is always rough, and if something comes up and I have to leave it just makes the whole thing I just did pointless.

The Shabazz16 one came up with nothing, but -Rogue5- did. Just go to the community tab, then click View my Profile, and that link I think is what other people can use to add. On that screen, the name under 'Steam Profile' is what my steam username is.

Thanks for the heads up, I'm gonna go fuss with it now... Daigoro, I'll try and add you too.

Should I set it to open mic or push to talk? What do most people play with?

what pisses me off is me rescuing people in the final stage only to be knocked down and so abandoned by my team mates at the first opportunity. It's so fucked up. It's happened quite a few times. Bunch of selfish assholes!

Yeah who plays for fun these days it's all about the achievements!

Anyone want to go for some achievements on normal/advanced/expert?

No heal
No friendly fire
Untouchables
No Boomer
No hits during rescue sequence

Any of the above in No Mercy/Death Toll. I'd prefer to do expert, but it doesn't make a difference unless it's the no heal achievement.

I just got done with one of the worst games I have played of L4D. None of my other team mates were helping each other, and whoever was Francis was actively selling his teammates out. Letting them get swamped and knocked down and just firing slowly at the crowd with a pistol. It was very annoying.

It's fun, but at this point I don't have a single expert campaign finished because people keep leaving when we get around the 4th and 5th levels, I've done No Mercy up to the finale atleast 5 times by now. It just gets needlessly hard to plan with others to free up a few hours to redo what we just did and failed the day before.

I said "it just makes the whole thing I just did pointless" because it doesn't feel very satisfying to have to leave and know I'll have to redo everything again. :P

I've played through all the campaigns several times (42 hours and counting), and I enjoy redoing everything again. Maybe it's because I mostly play with GAFfers or real life friends.

God there needs to be a button to shut the rescue vehicle door. I'm tired of making it to the vehicle only to lose because someone else was incapped or stupid.

I use push to talk. People who use open mics tend to mouth breath into it.
I use open mic, I seem to use better team work that way. Since I can instantly respond and not worry about hitting a button while things are getting crazy. As far as mouth breathing just look at the damn screan and see if it says you're talking when you're actually not.

I love bullet penetration.

My team was in the apartments, but one guy got snagged by a smoker one floor above us, and there wasn't any way to get back up to him (the three of us had jumped down into the hole). I could see his outline, so I moved directly underneath him. I fired two rounds from my shotgun into the ceiling where I figured the Infected boss was, and the Smoker promptly died. He jumped down the hole, healed, and we continued on.

Since then I've been using penetration more strategically. I killed a few Smokers and Boomers through solid walls after I saw hints of them later on in the playthrough, <3 Autoshotgun.

Having random noobs online progressed past the "sabotage team as survivors to play Infected quicker" stage?
