Now that I've actually read the update list, there's not a single thing I disagree with. Kinda sucks you know where tanks are gonna spawn, but at least there won't be huge differences tactically anymore.

Even hope those NAT fixes address the weird issue with seeing servers.
 
Normalized special infected melee damage

Obviously that doesn't include the tank, but does that now mean that hunters do as little melee damage as smokers and tanks? :(

I'm hoping it's closer to them all doing 5 or so, maybe the hunter gets a bonus.

I can't tell you how many times not having a tank was the difference between a victory and a loss. When you're playing great teams, it can be so unbelievably frustrating to barely lose and realize you could have taken down a player or two with a tank.

I am sooo happy about that change.

Gotta get working on that now.

Mostly I like what I see, though. Should change around versus a good bit.

I think the ideal thing would be to make it a server option. Because I agree with you that having a equal footing with the tank is crucial for competitive play, but not so much for casual play IMO. Last night I played through a whole VS campaign and neither team got a single tank until the BH finale. It was pretty bizarre.

That smoker change is versus-only.

And he was already damn good if you knew how to use him. I hate to open a can of worms, but he could perhaps be overpowered? Perhaps that's not why this patch isn't going simultaneously on the Xbox, maybe Valve are just trying out various balance changes.

Great changes. I'm glad they badass'ed the Infected from what they were.

For those of you guys who are having log-in problems, (and I'm not sure if this has been posted before) you can have a wank fantasizing about this.

RE2 mod for L4D. Great pick, and I wish those guys godspeed in their project.

Honestly, he was way too situational, and he could barely do any damage at all outside of certain places in a map.

Apparently Valve didn't fix voicechat spam. I wish they'd at least add a "mute teammate button", AND one that worked on voicechat, so you don't constantly hear the Zoey death scream from your teammates.

i didnt even know this was possible. anyone? dosent sound like it was usefull for Survivors, but it interesting.

man i was going to play some Ninja Gaiden tonight, but i have to get this patch now.
 
Wow, seems like that patch made the versus noob friendly, not sure if I'm going to like it, I found it balanced beside the glitches, you just had to know what you are doing, well I'll see how it goes when the update hits the 360.

Witch
Witch spawns at the same % through the map for both teams
Avoids spawning within a certain % of the tank
Fixed an exploit where the Witch could be woken up and tricked into attacking Survivors

Oh yeah.

Laggy server I'm playing on, and lots of iffy stuff so far. Smoker movement seems really slow aiming wise, and I haven't managed to melee anyone as hunter yet. :/
