It's less than five minutes and clearly just a full working example campaign for developers. Trust me, it's not a full campaign one would love to play over and over again.Zzoram said:I wonder how much of a campaign the tutorial example Dead Line is.
Nope. If there is they hid it really well.Ashhong said:is there a party system??

Your best bet would be openserverbrowser in console...? Matchmaker might be better. I hope.Facism said:I guess there's no competent way to actually search for custom campaigns to join?

Edit: I play regularly with a number of Japanese people... who are all quite lethal. We always go random and no matter who's with who, the teams are so finely balanced that matches are won or lost by handfuls of points. Every swipe counts.
However, in the event of not having enough friends, we'll go public and by god what a complete shitfest that is. Everyone rage quits, constantfuckingly.

Varna said:Really love this game... but it's so frustrating to play these days. At least Versus.
Usually I can get one or two friends to play with me but for some reason after switching the lobby to public people rarely join. On top of that, lots of people just leave when they see we are on the same team... even if we split up people still seem to leave more often then they stay (I have no idea why they would do this). Then once the game does start I find that many people leave as soon as the my team does really well. On a game earlier in the week my friend told all of us to tone it down so they wouldn't leave... what the fuck. How sad is that. I have to throw the game to get people to not rage quit?

vertopci said:Dude, toning down doesn't help at all. Those fucking pubbies will still ragequit. Want proof? Me and three other gaffers do PISTOLS ONLY and they still quit. The only way to tone it down more is to use melee only :lol

MisterAnderson said:I've had this on 360 for a while but recently made a new PC so very tempted to double dip here...question though. On steam the only L4D version available for purchase is the ripoff "game of the year edition." If I buy the retail regular version, will that have steam achievements?
# Generally DevPacks are save, however always take cautionary steps and review / check all DevPacks before installing them.
Unauthorized changes to any core L4D files and components may be prohibited by Valve which may return undesired results.
Blizzard said:I have two questions about custom maps. One, is there not an easy way to download them? I thought the recent update made it simpler, but when I tried to join a server I just got redirected to l4dmaps.com. It didn't even link to the map itself, so it looks like I'd have to search for the map name, download it, manually copy the files, and so forth.
Secondly, from l4dmaps.com:
Does this mean it's theoretically possible to make a devpack that would get people VAC banned if you modified some core files? That would scare me away from custom maps. :/

Kicking is common practice on PC, it's what made me take up griefing so much. Every time someone tries to kick me I have a plan to fuck up the game for them in my absence. I don't play anymore because of the rampant kick culture on L4D. Most of my friends list went back to TF2.marvelharvey said:Just played with a bunch of random Japanese players and was kicked. Why? Well two reasons; firstly, when I was tank, I didn't rush alone against lvl2 shotguns (apparently this is the 'best' tactic if you're a tank). By waiting for my team to spawn, I was called a piece of shit, how nice. Secondly, as the survivors, one of them started the event on DA3 and for some reason, everyone ran back to the safe room without telling me. I was then kicked on the next stage for not being up to standard. Which is a shame for them, as I was in the middle of writing a detailed message of how to play properly as the tank.

Welcome to L4D, The Vote Kick in left4dead has become a tool for griefing. If your on the losing team...more or less likely someone is going to get votekicked. And even then, for the most petty reasons and how easy it is to get someone kicked. They'll do itmarvelharvey said:Just played with a bunch of random Japanese players and was kicked. Why? Sadly I was in the middle of typing them a nice message of how to play properly...shintoki said:As he mentioned above. If there planning to kick you. Lite up with the auto shotgun into one of them, Drop a cocktail on your team(You included), jump off a high ledge if you can, etc. It's childish but gives you a bit of joy :lol
