I know, what I'm saying is that we could use that config and still have HPs. It might mitigate the increase in difficulty a little, make the infected team's challenge essentially to incap one or two survivors before they find health and essentially make them stall out.

Oh. I thought you meant make it freakishly brutal to survivors on the normal config. I could live with that I guess...

If you have Mutfox on your list, he's been the organizer for doing custom maps. Maybe he can hook you up with some and we can do them again w/ you (or some new ones).

yep, i got him. sounds good, id like to try some of them for sure.

just got a fair bit of work to do first. cross your fingers for me!

So yeah, for Custom Maps, "Heaven Can Wait" is probably the best one.
It does crash in the sewers of Level 2 though. (If there's a huge Horde)
It's a known issue though, and is being patched.
Cool part about this Campaign is that Crescendo's can start by crossing invisible lines.

"7 Hours Later" is also pretty good, This mapper helped with map 4 of "Heaven Can Wait"

Zelda is also pretty damn good, due to it being a Zelda Dungeon with a real-time Map.
Oh, and it has actual Bosses from Zelda... Awesome!

Not many months into the SDK,
and we've already played elements that are better than the actual Valve game...
(Or elements that Valve will be putting in L4D2.)

Plus there's a bunch more Campaigns that we've played that aren't finished,
but show true promise.

Probably one of the best Co-Op games ever made now, due to the SDK. :p

Saw the Gabe interview on gametrailers. Some new L4D2 footage(THERE IS A KATANA YEA BABY), and a small sneak peak at the new L4D1 campaign.

They plan on hooking each L4D2 campaign together to seem like one big story. Similarly the new L4D1 DLC takes place between No Mercy and Dead Air(Could be wrong on that). Speculation: Valve plans to link all the original L4D campaigns together?

Other random info:
HL2 E3 is still in works. That is all
As is CS2
As is Portal2(Gabe's admitted favorite.)

Really dislikes PS3 development and support, has nothing on motion and visual controls. But would like to in the future.

So sorry I'm late to this one =(

Basically I bought it when it was on a Steam sale awhile back but could never get around to it. I passed during holiday last year cause there was just so much other stuff coming out and I'm not a big online player, so I figured it could wait.

Anyway, I'm finally putting quality time into this one after enabling toggle crouch/walk (hate holding keys!), getting myself pumped for L4D2! ...which i'm looking foward to even more as I'm from the south so it resonates a bit more.

Making my way through the campaign right now. There's just so much of that Valve love and polish put into everything that makes the fanboy in me go gaga!
The SDK came out yeah? ...any recommended maps or mods?

I'm a insane zombie fan btw so I feel like this and Dead Rising were made just for me :D

Yeah, tanks and witches are basically speed bumps, not real threats anymore.

Especially when everyone already knows where they are going to spawn. I am one of those who think sacrificing the randomness hurt the gameplay far more than helped.

in the GT interview the guy says that people thought the pilot sounded like an infected at the end of No Mercy, anyone agree? i replayed the ending just now and he sounded 100% normal and he looked normal too. liars.

I guess Riverside couldn't hold out.

Between the first horde and Tank, what the pilot says always made me think that is when he got bitten. Going to be running a bit late, I just had a.... an incident. Going by zombie movie lingo, that means he's already been attacked and is going to turn.

You're not playing it 1 player exclusively are you Agent O?

Right now I am yeah ...I'm a bit shy when it comes to coop with strangers. I'm gonna through the campaign for the first time completely by myself, then start playing with others

Seriously? Is that the same Zelda map I played? Because I thought that sucked balls. Probably one of the worst gag maps I've played.

Are we ever going to play again, duck?

I added you, AO. Play with peoplllllllllle. Bots are pretty annoying. They made them dumber or something, I couldn't beat BH expert finale last night, they'd be really stupid.

Haha, yeah the bots are FUCKING DUMB. It seems the bot is extra dumb if playing as Louise too! Are you up for some Versus say on Saturday GMT 19:30 or so? That's when my regular group usually plays Versus, and these days it's getting harder to get a full 8. For Co-Op I usually play on Wed at that same time, but I've never beaten Expert before. ~_~

Gimme a hollar when you want to do expert. VS tends to just piss me off.

Okay, then it'll be during the weekdays. Weekends are usually reserved for Versus. It's great when you're playing with a big group of regular people imo.

Vs is a lot of fun in concept and overall, I just tend to get angry at this or that and not just have fun anymore.

It's fantastic when you get this or that off, but I don't think I'm fun to play with on vs.

No, we have not beaten it. The last time I fell into some badly designed crack on the edge of some rubble and got stuck. I watched the other remaining team mate die before my eyes and I couldn't do jack shit. The zombies couldn't get to me either. After tons of random jumping and twitching I managed to get out of the hole later, only to be overwhelmed shortly after. The campaign sux. -_-

At least those of us that were dead already had fun telling ducky 'Jump that way!' 'try that!' 'turn around!' 'no, other side, duck!' =p,
but yeah... we're never ever playing power station again (I'm really sorry ducky, it was all my fault).
Also, I agree with ducky, the Zelda map was really lame and irritating. The one thing I *did* like about it was the overhead map.

It never appealed to me either, probably took 60 hours before I even ventured near VS. Now I can't play anything else!

No longer in Alaska?

It requires a pretty serious time commitment, but it's definitely a lot of fun when you're playing with Gaffers that know how to play.

Haven't tried Powerstation yet, and it sounds like it's a good thing I haven't. Played Blood Hospital last night and wasn't bad.. Some kid that sounded like he was 10 years old and from Arkansas or Kentucky joined and he had one of the thickest redneck accents I've ever heard, but talked constantly. He'd be yelling at us and telling us everything to do, took on 2 witches by himself as a horde was coming at us, etc. He'd always end up dying and then be watching us and telling us everything to do, "Hey shoot that one!!" I honestly don't know why we didn't votekick him. :lol

I can't stand VS either. Most of the time, i get stuck with a bunch of idiots who either don't know how to play, or are just assholes.

Last time i played VS, i ended up being the tank, and because i didn't kill any survivors before i died, they fucking voted to kick me! Well, i'm sooory if i became a tank inside a big open room where it's easy for them to run away & shoot... Idiots. I'd rather play with bots than dealing with this.

I played this game for the first time over this week on 360 and I can agree with there being more idiots then good players online, people who will stand still and get attacked just so they can become the mutated again sooner then actually trying to survive, then you get people who shoot you to end the round faster. I did get to play a couple of worthwhile matches though and it was great fun.

It's not a game I feel like I should buy, played it for a few days and beat all 4 maps offline in co-op and 2 of them online as well as a few attempts which ended by idiots team killing. I had my dose.

Sounds like you need better friends. With friends like that, I don't think co-op would be much fun either. :p

Yeah see, I almost never play with random people. If we ever let random people join to fill up our Versus games, 4/5 times the people who join either rage quit, go psycho and get kicked, or just plain suck at team work. We got a pretty nice guy the last time though, but that's fucking rare.

I have 1 decent friend on live to play L4D with, plus I play with my wife so that makes 3, then we just try and attract someone who is preferrably aged at least 18 (the 10 year olds do my head in!) and the nights are pretty set for co-op.

Probably pumped around 250 hours into this puppy now, and haven't even bothered with VS, although L4D2 is definitely calling, even though it's coming out soon I've never got so much value for money out of one game, never.

Co-op's fun if you don't have what I call 'the stiffs' in your game, ya know, the ones that boss you around and tell you what the fuck to do, I've played this game through so many times I just do it for fun now, not to talk crappy tactics and strategies, they do my head in a bit.

Yeah, most of the randoms that join our versus games either leave after the first time they're killed, or start doing really retarded shit, like sprinting halfway across the map on their own.
Thank god we can usually scrounge up at least 4-6 regulars (and we all suck pretty much equally, so nobody has a superiority complex :lol )

Yeah, but i also like to kill every zombies in sight with a sniper rifle or search every rooms in No Mercy or Dead Air for zombies just to play "Zombie Terminator". :lol Sure, the games last like 1 hour and 20 minutes, sure i shoot every cars with alarms just to get more of them to come, sure i end up with 400 zombies killed in 1 chapter while the bots have less than 100, etc.... but it's fun! :lol

I don't think real players would have the patience or fun i have with that, so most of the time it's bots only when i feel like playing "Zombie Terminator". ;(

If I'm ever on when you guys are doing invites for Versus, send me an invite.. I'm not going to say I'm a pro, but I'm decent at versus. I hate playing with pubs as well. Too much rage when they get dominated, people that don't have mics or know what they're doing, etc.

Picked this up from Gamefly for a few days and sent it back. Really disliked single player, the AI was just terrible, went online and played some Co-Op, and it wasn't much better. After an hour the game just seemed like the same thing, random hallways filling up with zombies with a mixed in boomer/smoker/tank/witch thrown in to "mix it up". After the first few times I was bored. Didn't care for the weapons much, either. I think this game might be awesome if you had 4 people in the same room.

The game is best played with friends and voicechat. Also, if you think that it was too easy, you should have played through the campaigns on expert. Versus is really where the game shines though.

But to each his own.

Yeah, versus was where l4d should have shined, but they dropped the ball so many times. For the first 6 months, servers didn't work, exploits were over used, matchmaking was awful, balancing was awful, a whopping 2 maps to play, etc.

I played yesterday for the first time in a long while and all that did was remind me of why I stopped -
Matchmaking took forever. We had to change the map to no mercy so we could find another team to play against. About 30 people raged so we decided to find another team of friends. 45 minutes wasted.
Still to this day, in every game, a big exploit or error occurs that ruins the game. A boomer landed on my head, blew up and nothing happened. Tanks still spawn in the stupidest places...got stuck in the elevator one time then got lit on fire behind the wall. To make matters worse, the only servers I find anymore are stupid modded ones that make this game sloppier than it already is or official ones that still kick everyone out every once in a while. The two "new" maps that they added in versus are really disappointing. 90% of the buildings on the new maps you can't even climb. Tank hit detection is still awful. The most boring parts of a versus games are the parts that are suppose to be the most exciting thanks to corner camping and not really giving the infected team many strategic options 95% of the time.

The idea around this game has potential, but at this stage more than half a year later, it's still very blah and unfinished. I won't be coming back to it.
