Do people on GAF play vs. regularly? I know some play the customs (bulleta, etc.).

I wouldn't mind playing in some GAF games. Gets old sometimes crushing randoms.

So I got a new HD4890 and I can run everything up wtih 60fps (8xAA, 16x Anisotropic and so on) but one thing is disappointing me: the draw distance. The texture on the dishwasher/oven thing on Blood Harvest wouldn't even appear until I got pretty close, and I was in the next room. Same with large boulders and things like that. Is there anything to do about this?

jesus christ. i played survival mode almost non-stop for about 6 hours yesterday and now my back and arms are sore this morning. i'm out of game shape... :(

Version 7.0 Release

Campaign updates:
* Added custom made soundtrack by Mark Hünermund Jensen
* Added survival mode for the lighthouse map and a remade (non-tilted) survival ship map
* Fixed version mixup giving the "string table error" message
* Fixed items not spawning on first round in safe room
* Updated nav on all maps

First level updates (The Prison):
* Redid some areas (Specially starting area)
* Clipcontrolled a lot of areas to smooth out unwanted bumps
* Added more access points for infected
* Added one more rescue closet near start
* Added new optional route at the end
* Fixed some nav issues

Second level updates (The Prison Yard):
* Redid some areas (Specially office section and sewers)
* Redid crescendo event a bit
* Fixed possible shortcut exploit at crescendo event
* Removed the corner in the crescendo event
* Added more ladders for infected

Third level updates (The Docks):
* Changed area close to crescendo to allow easier infected access
* Fixed some places where players could get stuck
* Added more ladders for infected
* Changed fence placement at crescendo a bit to avoid possible exploit
* Fixed some nav issues
* Fixed crescendo button displaying wrong instruction

Fourth level updates (The Ship):
* Fixed some places where players could get stuck
* Added ladder for the infected to be able to climb aboard at the end
* Added a health cabinet
* Finally fixed water (at the cost of having no ragdolls)

Fifth level updates (The Lighthouse Escape):
* Fixed survivors sometimes surviving being knocked off the cliff into the water
* Removed push in water
* Added more ladders for the infected (Tanks now has access to starting area)
* Fixed some nav issues
* Made skybox edge in water less noticeable

So new SI revealed according to destructoid

We got word of a brand new Special Infected coming to Left 4 Dead 2 from reader Josh, which we promptly followed up with Valve to get official confirmation. Those attending PAX will be the first to witness the arrival of The Jockey, perhaps the most annoying-yet-awesome sounding Special Infected of them all.

The Jockey is a smaller zombie who jumps on the backs of Survivors and tears them apart from behind. Not only that, but he gets to control the movements of the Survivor while he's doing it, meaning that Versus Mode just got a whole lot crazier. Sounds like a helpful little guy who'll help guide the Survivors into ambushes and other desirable locations.

That's all we know so far. We'll get to see him in the flesh at PAX.

I liked where they were going with the other new one that spat poison area effect. This one, if it functions kinda how I visualize it, is a step back.
It also seems like it kinda makes the smoker obsolete. Why pull in one direction when you can control in any? Why bother with unreliable pull lag time?

Maybe because if you're not a terrible smoker you try to attack from places where you can quickly duck back into hiding, and the jockey, on the other hand, will be RIGHT IN YOUR FACE?

90% of games where people trying to glitch. 9.9% where people playing bad.

Where is the last 0.1% ? Where where you GAF! helpeds! :D

Smoker is ranged, this one is not and regardless there's no reason for the special infected to be equally powerful. Your whole post was a rather nonsensical really.

You can still glitch the maps in survival? I knew how to do 1, which was fixed, and never figured out lighthouse, which afaik was fixed, and RocketDarkness talked about the drains one, but I've never seen it..there are still some others?

The Drains and The Crane at least still haven't been fixed. And there are probably some others.

I hope it lasts longer than most Steam GAF groups. Otherwise by the time I get back to America (one and a half weeks!) it'll be done and over with. ):

How is it boring...it's versus mode. Also 170 to 200 ping isn't that bad for L4D. Your fault for living on the west coast instead of the awesome east coast! :p
