Having random noobs online progressed past the "sabotage team as survivors to play Infected quicker" stage?
:lol No! my plan is exposed!

Actually, I like to 'run and shoot', it tends to catch the infected off guard, and if you don't make it, well at least you've had fun rushing and shooting and now get to play as the infected again!

That game would have been fine except for the stupid director pitting two tanks against our favor; wtf is that nonsense?

Also, Joefu being randomly switched mid-game is weird. My teammates did great though. I sucked as a hunter. :lol

Oh, I've been on the receiving end of the lack of balancing, and I know how you feel.

Game was good fun despite my dad's urge for watching and streaming Taiwanese news halfway through the match causing me to get some awesome 2-5 second lag spikes. I think that was the reason I got switched teams, bunny took my spot :(

I think I'm in love with this game.

I still stand by my first impressions, even though I've done a complete 180 on them as I've played more. At first glance of the 360 version it *does* look last gen. But now, lets just say that I appreciate all of what Valve managed to do in this game.

Its all the little touches that make it shine. From the character and environment detail, to the cinematic lighting, to the fact that you can see how other survivors are equipped and their health just by looking at them. Also, bullet penetration, all of the co-op mini-goals, how every weapon is useful and powerful, and the animations for survivors and infected alike. The scenery itself tells so many stories. And as you continue to play you develop team habits that work for all situations - something that most FPS games try to teach you, but are useless once you try to replay their scenarios, depending instead upon memorizing spawns and the like. This game, man.

Top. Fucking. Notch.

If I *had* to bitch about something, and I do, it'd have to be two things. The serious overdrive ramp up of difficulty for the finales (I play Advanced mostly). We've played at our very best, and really gelled as a team, and we still got royally and sadistically murderized to an unholy and demoralizing degree on the No Mercy and Dead Air finales. We don't exploit glitches, nor spend all of our time in closets, so we're still working on getting the will to achieve those two on Advanced and keeping it fun and crazy the whole time.

Last bit - we NEED more content. I'm OK with the weapon selection, but more couldn't hurt. I'd really like to see more infected types, more campaign levels of course, more encounter types and new game modes would make me grin like a ninny too.

All in all what an awesome game. I don't even know when I'll go back to Gears 2 Horde mode, and believe me that's saying a lot.

are you around now? ive got Astrolad, and need some slots filled here.

I was on Steam playing fallout 3 for hte past couple of hours... I tried adding you, but I guess I was spelling Daigoro wrong... Add me; it's -Rogue5-.

NVidia GeForce 7150m graphics card can play this on very low graphics settings, correct? I just need to play this game.

If it can run HL2, it'll run L4D. With the 7150m you'll probably be able to turn up the settings to medium, but the resolution will have to be a lower... But, yeah, you should be able to play.

Can't wait for christmas & ignoring my family and friends and neglecting health to play this!

just kidding.

partially. ;]

Wow. I just played a Live public campaign and it was STILL awesome. Strangers rotating in and out, but still a seamless and fun experience. I was worried about the 360 experience being hell of lame, but it was a non stop blast even though my friends were in other games.

This is a phenomenally well-crafted and douche-proof experience.

I wish Doytch didn't take my spot early on, but my game crashed... again. And again (and again) when I played with Daigoro and Astrolad. :\

I love bullet penetration.

My team was in the apartments, but one guy got snagged by a smoker one floor above us, and there wasn't any way to get back up to him (the three of us had jumped down into the hole). I could see his outline, so I moved directly underneath him. I fired two rounds from my shotgun into the ceiling where I figured the Infected boss was, and the Smoker promptly died. He jumped down the hole, healed, and we continued on.

Since then I've been using penetration more strategically. I killed a few Smokers and Boomers through solid walls after I saw hints of them later on in the playthrough, <3 Autoshotgun.

I hate people like you and all you stand for. It brings wallhax to a whole new level when you fire blindly like that. *grumble*

(and yes, I fire blindly into the trees to kill boomers)

If you're still concerned, why not just download the demo?

I may not see you, but my bullets can! >: D

I just wanted to point out that PillowKnight and Crooked Rain are broken when on the same team. Hopefully Valve fixes this issue in an upcoming patch.

That said, the games were decent, sorry to whine. :P VS games are just better than public games, where everyone comes and goes randomly. Maybe tomorrow we can find enough people to play.

Someone in game said that wall-jumping as a Hunter makes you do damage on impact if you hit a target after wall-jumping. I'm not exactly good enough to test this theory, anyone know if it is true or just a myth?

I wouldn't say that.

Last night on versus No Mercy this one guy on our team (we were the survivors) had no idea where he was going... So he was halfway across the level as the person playing as Zoey activated the lift... I had to wait for the lift to be up before I could go up. Anyway the dude across the level gets pounced because he is by himself... So I go help him, as this happens Zoey gets grabbed by a Smoker so I run back to help her. Now as I do this, the guy who got pounced continues to stay at the other part of the level for some reason not knowing how to get where we are. He has no mic. So I say fuck it and run with Zoey to the windows the dude gets pounced again and I don't look back because the guy is an idiot.

Needless to say both Zoey and I die at the part where you jump into the sewers because I got gang raped by some zombies as she jumped in first and because I couldn't get down fast enough a hunter pounced on me keeping me above her without the ability to save me... and then she got attacked underneath.

Well done.

Also I usually don't like YT commentaries popping up on screen, but those were pretty funny. :D

That doesn't really make him a douche. Picking up the slack for less skilled players, in my experience, has been part of the fun. Of course, I tend to be the guy with the lack of experience.

Doesn't make me a douche.

Thing is... when you screw up you follow who ever saves you... Don't you? This guy didn't he went out of his way to go the opposite direction. I even stood there and waited for him to follow me and he didn't.

I remember hiding in a room in New Mercy and getting shot through the drywall.

I now do the same thing. There's some really good ambush points for Boomers. So I've started shooting into the rooms where I really like to hide.

I was also killed once when I was in the stairwell of New Mercy and somebody fired bullets through concrete blocks. Not sure I'm sold on that. Do bullets actually penetrate concrete blocks in real life?

You don't even have to wall jump to perform this. Just climb ladders to high points and go from there. If you land on them on the fly, you'll get "pounce" damage that's dependent on how high you were.

I've found it's best to try and overjump your target. Since if you just aim for where they are, you always end up short.

I'd have to agree. Typically coop games are only bearable when playing with friends. Not only do you tend to find "friendly" gamers in LD4, they're always willing to kick out the dumbasses via the great kick system.

bind <key> explode

I still haven't done that, but it does have one hilarious benefit, especially if someone normally uses sprays and then binds explode to the spray key. They end up being annoying as a boomer, as you would expect...but I've seen at least one occasion where a survivor hit it in the saferoom at the start of the level and left his team with only three people starting out. :lol

Got this for Xbox 360 too ( yes, I have it for both PC and 360 now - I love it that much ) since most of my friends have gotten it for the console, and I am enjoying it even more on my HDTV. Quess I'm so used to playing FPS's with a controller these days...

Has any achieved "Lamb 2 Slaughter" yet? The achievement where you have to incapacitate a survivor that has entered and left the saferoom as an infected? I have had quite a few opportunities to do this and it never registered. :( I only need that and "Zombie Genocide" to earn all achievements.

I thought I did but haven't... Although I did get the "All 4 Dead" achievement.
