Ah, I got to see the tank jump on me from another perspective.

It's quite interesting to see another teammate's viewpoint of what transpired. That first rescue event tank, at the end, went to such a perfect spot to throw a rock. He couldn't hit us, but he had everyone unloading on him.

Yeah, Pop said so too. That Boomer that knocked us both down, I saw him fall from the roof and tried to get away, but it didn't work out. The Hunter at the very end that pounced you made a neat pounce and looked funny when I knocked him off you.

RocketDarkness said:
Oh, and beautiful use of tree cover on the non-event tank. It looked as cool as it did from my perspective.

That was 100% coincidental luck, same with the dodge of the rock he threw over the hummer and a foot in front of my face. I tried to get him to the left of the hummer, then was going to run like hell when I saw him start tossing a rock, so I did. That tree just happened to be where it was.

Wow, I'm having a nightmare of a time connecting to servers tonight. Wouldn't be so bad if, after the 12th time of either being instantly disconnected or timing out, it actually disconnects me from the internet altogether.

I played again for the first time since like Christmas...and it's still pretty fun. Mics definitely seem to help. Glancing through a few of the pages I missed, wow, argument city. The one thing that DOES annoy me is that you can't mute teammates, as well as character sayings. This means that you can't mute the guy who's screaming at you constantly, you can't mute the people spamming the Zoey death scream/whine/screech sound every second, and so on. I don't mind people spamming OH NOOOOOO, but some things hurt my ears. :(

Oh, and servers were pretty iffy today. We had to restart like five times.

Oh, and I have a new most hated tactic on the 4th No Mercy level. The survivor team all crouch-jumped into this one little scaffold area. I hadn't ever seen anyone do that, that I can recall...they were hiding from a tank. And then special infected would spawn in there with them, and could NOT escape except by crouch-jumping. The only good thing was that the survivors couldn't get out easily either, so the tank just kept throwing rocks at them while boomers kept the horde picking at them nearly forever. Then the tank got in the humans' sights for about two seconds, so its last 500+ health vanished instantly.

We STILL killed the remaining humans after that, but it was incredibly annoying.

Do any gaffers regularly play the 360 version? I'm looking to play with people who are at least semi-competent at this game. Too many times I see Boomers spawning behind Survivors on a floor above them, or people just running way out in front of everybody else. Ugh.

I just want to have fun without being frustrated all the time. :(

There seem to be quite a few. Off the top of my head, there's Amirox, RubxQub, and Daigoro. Plus the jon bones guy a couple posts above.

Finally! I can play this game without crashing!

I think my previous OS install must have been bad or something. Europa couldn't even start without crashing :P

so, who wants to play now? I guess it's either this or I go back to that bitch of a mission in Company of Heroes, and I really don't want to deal with that again.

gamertag: cool calm jon

also, i'm sooo jealous of your "wire" tag :lol

They only had one or two rage quits over the entire campaign. The two tanks in the finale copped some flack, but what can they do when they have four auto-shotties trained on them :D

It was an almost perfect run, but we only got 3 survivors rescued in the finale - we got massively swarmed.

Oh, I also forget to say that this was all with randoms.

Can't see her, cause a Boomer barfed on me half a second before I was gonna shoot, but that made the normal shotty crown that much nicer.

l4d_hospital03_sewers0009.jpg

Also did my first propane Tank on NM4, but didn't get to make an avatar out of it. :(

Ha, so that was you. Yeah, I suck, but I've got my mic working now, so.... well I'm not sure how that helps, really. But still. Also, I've learned a valuable lesson about gravity and its effect on those ousted from a tall roof.

Yeah, was fun. Aside from the above, when you were above the manhole on NM3 and smokered, then I shot you and you fell down from being smokered, and like 40 zombies fell down with you, was pretty :lol . Hope you had a good time. :) The Tank "killing" me on NM5 was bs though, it showed me LAND on the roof, but the camera switched to the 'you got knocked off' view and it said I got knocked off, even though it showed that I didn't.

Mics help a ton in some situations. It's fun to just idly chat, of course, but sometimes you just have to inform your teammates right at that moment.

Good match, there were quite a few memorable events. The zombie floodgates being unleashed in the sewers, the tank dying half a second before punching Loso off the roof, Red's blind cr0wn with the normal shotty...good times.

Oh, just remembered the dumbest thing, when that last Tank on NM2 hit a car, which hit the car I was next to and it rotated literally 1 DEGREE and it incapped me. raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaage

Yeah, I suppose it would help if I could easily yell out "hey I'm getting tentacled by Joe Camel and his 50 zombie buddies" next time something like that happens.

Oh yeaaah...and then he hit me with a trash bin at 500 miles per hour before keeling over.

All I wanted to do before I played was eat my damn ice cream. But noooooooooo, GAF never stops asking (this is after the game was over):

:|

EDIT: Also, weird thing.

Fallengorn was tank, but crashed. So it said I was gonna be tank so I was happy. Then 5 seconds later after I started moving, it said PotatoeMasher was gonna be tank. It made me sad.

:(

See if I join n0b's team again...after he leaves his body to idly stand around while I defend him TO THE LAST.

Also, is the NM5 ladder kind of glitched like the tank glitch? After a hunter pounced someone on top of the ladder, I couldn't climb onto the roof at all, until I dropped all the way down and sniped the hunter off.

Ugh.

Took Fallout's spot, wanted to do all the skips on ratcliff's first time on Death Toll, ran away from people that were Boomered, saw a witch in the house on DT3 blocking the closet with dmczaf, I shot her and messed up the crown and he just sat there and let her kill me, ran off on his own during the DT4 crescendo and stayed away for all of it, dm was at 1hp when a Tank came after the crescendo and ran all the way back past the gun while I saved dm (but got incapped), was still running when the Tank already died, then wanted to do the rock on ratcliff's first time but then laughed at us doing it by the gun on Advanced, saying I couldn't handle Expert (I play Expert 95% of the time on campaigns), and just not a team player at all.

Yeah, he's a gaffer, but I thanked him for his attitude and unhelpfulness (especially at the Witch, which I had to heal from being grey and was abandoned while healing, then she got me) and took him off my list. bg

See, why do you have to talk shit on NeoGAF? It is one thing calling me noob over steam and block me afterwards like a coward but attacking me here. I got feed up with you constantly running away from everyone else, it was like you were on crack. Secondly I always put the tank on fire, if you wanna stay behind after that and get killed, fine. I'm not going to get killed so we have to start over.

Sure I might have been overreacting but you played that match like someone who had owned the game for two days.

Edit: Seriously, who does not take cover somewhere during the DT4 crescendo?

I know this is internet srs bzns, but for what it's worth, Bulleta has always been helpful to people who need it in my experience. She went through huge runs to help me and others finish off our expert achievements, and she's taught several people different advantageous ways to do stuff. It can be hard to communicate instantly sometimes since she typically doesn't use the mic, but I still can't seem to ever recall her running off and abandoning people. o_O

Likewise. I've never had an issue with Red ever being uncooperative, and I've played quite a bit with her.

I never said she abandoned people, she just kept running and we all had to haul ass to make sure she did not get too far away.

No, ratcliff had never played it before, so he was exploring, and I was advancing the group, usually leading when I wasn't keeping him alone. You ran off on your own on the crescendo and got smokered (who saved you?), and just left dm to die. :lol

We both died once on the campaign, I would have had 0 but you just watched the Witch rip me to shreds since she was in the way of dmczaf's door. I don't see it as "playing bad" when it's on advanced and I tried to keep dm alive at the Tank on DT4, and you ran away from people when they were Boomered and you weren't, something a real "2-day player" would do, along with not even shooting a Witch that was attacking someone. Plus you "always doing the rock" and I wouldn't have even made the post without your initial "you can't play expert" comment, so yeah.

If I play like someone who's had the game for 2 days, then well, yeah. ratcliff HAS only had the game for a day or two, and this was dm's first time surviving the finale. Also funny was who got Huntered and Smokered the most during the finale..you.

rezuth said:

You were behind the ammo boxes while the other 3 were around the mounted gun, that's not cover. I was in a corner, then ran all the way back to get you unsmokered, and you walked right back to the open street behind the ammo box during the crescendo.

Like on DT2 when you three stayed up in the watch tower after I said there was a Tank past the train bridge and I had to be the one to bait it? :lol

Also going to the cabin on DT5 alone when the other 3 of us weren't even to the forest section yet, everyone had to run over and help.

To be honest, I was shooting at the zombies and I got tons of protected since two of them were down. Would I not have been at a defensive position we would have lost and had to start over. If you really want to go into hard facts, I was only incapacitated 4 times vs your 8 times.

The witch part I was drinking mountain dew. The witch was right in front of the closet where Rat(I think it was) was going to spawn and you just ran right into her at full speed. Its not like I had a lot of time to react there, if you might have told me you were doing the crown thing I could have been prepared.
Lets see it like this, who were knocked down by the tank? You, Rat and DM. Why? Because you were standing in the way for it.
It was not as much a you cant play as it being a bit fun when you said you almost always did.

To be fair, lets look at the stuff here. We played the house, right?
Who always put the tank on fire? Me
Who took the least damage? Me
Who had the fewest FF? Me
Who disturbed the witch 0 times? Me and Rat
Who revived the most teammates? Me and Rat
Who had the best acuuracy? Me

I never said you play like someone who had the game for 2 days. I said you played that game like it, I stand by that statement. It might be just that you are tired or something but you played a bit bad. I did aswell, I mean being up all night (It is now 07:56 AM) I'm not gonna play top notch but lets face it. Some decisions you made were just plain stupid.

But its no point in doing this. You are liked by far too many here and since they never played that game I will most likely just be in the shit here.

See, here you are starting to go a bit berserk. First of all when the tank attacked I was behind you in the house/bridge part. You tossed a molotov and totally missed, this prompted me to run ahead of you and throw another one which hit the target. Then it ran after DM or Rat and I fired as much as I could.

How do you even know any of those stats? You left the game at the start of them. You put the Tank on fire because you ran up with a molotov first. When someone has one ready, the other people are supposed to get back.

Dude, there's nothing wrong with disturbing the witch if you're going to cr0wn it. Heck, it's good practice. Shame there wasn't anyone there to finish the job if the initiator fails at the act, though...

I never said that but I would think its custom to at least let the others know before you do it. Maybe its just me who is used to play with a lot of communication and taking a more safe approach.

Going through levels quickly and hunting down tanks is how good players play, not fearing witches goes on there as well. I think you're more than a bit confused. It is normal for someone in the party to play the 'scout' and go on ahead to lure infected or and set the pace for their team.

The witch was blocking dm! She had to go down! :) It was a bad shot though, I usually get them a large majority of the time.

See that is not a problem but IIRC at least one dude was playing it for the first time. I have no trouble with anyone scouting but like I said communication is key. Perhaps that was the whole issue I had that the person that was going to lead had no microphone.

Did you use one? I don't remember. I don't think dm has one, at least he's never used one, and I don't have one. ratcliff got his fixed, but he's the only one I can remember using one.

I can't use one at this hours, my sister is staying on the coach and I don't want to wake her up.

I would like to play with you in the future, I mean there was a reason why I added you in the first place. I had heard that you were quite good so I thought it would be fun to play with a friendly gaffer. Perhaps all is my fault even but in all honestly, I just play to have fun and in the end the game was that despite its flaws.

We sure ran like hell there. I closed the door because I thought you were gonna fall short of making it to the safe room, I saw you hobbling and the Tank was on your ass, just assumed you would have no made it but my calculations were wrong and I quickly opened it back but then the door pushed you away which nearly caused even more chaos.

Man, I joined a bloodharvest game for the finale, and I was O_o when I saw the score was ~7200... I think everyone survived the finale though, so it wasn't the same game.

In other news, I got akimbo assassin on Death Toll on advanced... three of us tried to get it through most of it (one of them gave up near the end, and we were on like the second to last map). My friend and I ended up getting it. Highlights of this adventure... my friend performed about on par with what he normally does (I was pretty shocked), and at one point me and him had to kill a tank by ourselves since our autoshotty buddies went down. I did 2821 damage to the tank, and he had around 2000... with pistols. We didn't have a molotov either. We also got do not disturb. :lol
