Very nice!

I love how I have this stupid ability to be able to pick samples out of thin air at random. There's a tin-can (or something) sound during the first few minutes of that mix... instantly knew it was from the intro of the AVH club mix of Je Suis Music. Aaaand now, I'm on a total retro-ish trip of it. Ta.

Oh Sebastian Tellier, you crazy french man. That video is very NSFW. Saw him live in Boston back in 2010, and he was pretty good. la ritournelle was the expected standout. It was a small venue with only a couple of hundred people. He was downing bottles of wine like water and was pretty hammered by the end.

Got a Detroit / Tech House party coming up this saturday, looking forward to it. Last time for me was years back. Only local names though, but some things I've found from the line up sounds pretty good.

For people that like to listen to DJ Sets at home, check this site: 3voor12.vpro.nl/djsets

It's a site of a Dutch public broadcaster, which has collected an enormous amount of dj sets. The techno collection in particular seems great. A couple can be found through the normal menu, but there's a huge amount that isn't listed directly but can be found by searching for names.

I haven't seen him since he went into Major Lazer. I have heard that he has recently gotten back into solo production and making his old style. I would go.

Had a listen to some of his new stuff and not really digging it, TBH. Maybe it'd grow on me or maybe my tastes have changed, but his old stuff was just killer but I'm not really digging his new jams (although this is fucking amazing... but nothing like the Switch I know).

I've been working the Frieze Art Fair here in NYC the last three days (bartending for my company, Frankie's Spuntino(2 more to go)), and it has been hell on Earth and I'm really ready to make a hard hitting mix, so all of this new music is just perfect!

I mentioned The Traveller in my last post, but he has been going largely unnoticed and that's a crime! The whole release is completely solid! That Mistakes Are Ok remix is just :O

I've been going through a huge disco/house kick lately due to my residency, but the days of that seem to be numbered (I've heard rumblings that they are going to discontinue ALL resident DJs, am waiting confirmation), and so I'm going back into my bass/techno ways and pursuing that to its fullest. Any and all techno-reqs are totally welcome on my end.

Holy SHIT at the Soul 223 track!!

SORRY! You too, man! I was pretty drunk when I posted that (worked non-stop from 11-7, literally did not even have one second to have a glass of water, so we all drank the leftover open wine as a reward after service)... Getting better now, heh. I have a lot of listening ahead of me tonight...

Don't know why, but I've not cared much at all for that Maceo Plex remix... I usually go nuts for anything he remixes, but that one just seems really lackluster. I've been going nuts over that Gorge remix, though, and that Maxxi remix is definitely ace and a fantastic late-warmup jam!

Speaking of Kasper Bjorke... P. Toile - One (Kasper Bjorke & His Friendly Ghost Remix) :) Seriously, seriously heavy peak-time house jammer.
