Yeah, Popper was just one of those tunes that wasn't worth remixing unless you completely changed it. It was basically the same, just not as good. Speaking of better things, this is an amazing remix of Personal Jesus:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e92DP-j23og

Reminds me of what was done to New Order's Confusion for the Pump Panel Reconstruction remix that Blade made famous.
Surprisingly not bad remix of PJ! My favourite of all time is this, though. The master of subtle-as-fuck remixes:
Personal Jesus (Pump Mix) (aka Francois K remix)

All my shows are DJ sets unless it says "LIVE" in huge letters and costs a fortune to get in

Okay....what exactly is the difference? Does he only play his own songs in the live set? And do most of it....um....live?

Djing would be off vinyl or cd, livepa is creating the music live with his gear. If its a livepa, then it traditionally is all his own stuff.

"Not available on this platform" apparently.

I hate it when content gets restricted :/
Shouldn't be too hard to find a working video of it on YT. Either look for the "pump" remix or Francois K :)

The Lando Kal Remix is much, much better in my humble opinion. One of the best techno productions in some time.
I'm sure I posted the original of that a page or two ago. Or someone linked me to it.

Either way, it had something to do with me.

Just found this, VERY cool VJ mash-up with Alex Metric's Deadly On A Mission.

Completely awesome.

Alex Metric surprised the fuck out of me when I saw him play a set at a festival this year. I'd only known the track that was licensed for Forza 4 (It Starts) but man, even though he played a lot (if not all) his own tracks (as I found out later), everything he played was fucking killer. Was blown away by his remixes of Sabotage and Freeland's Under Control (which I could've sworn was a Soulwax track, it sounded that similar).

Absolutely massive respect for the guy.

So I was picking out my new avatar, and I opened a whole bunch of images in google, and one of the sites started playing the most amazing music ever. But Upon going to the site it no longer played. I can't even find it now. This is going to bother me. I'll report back once I retrieve the elusive tune.

I liked the Junpei av :(

I guess this is a good thread to ask this in. I'm looking to buy a midi keyboard to play around with and I know nothing about them. I can't spend more than $50. I'm thinking about the Korg Nanokey2, and it fits my price range perfectly at exactly $50 on Amazon.

Anyone who is familiar with Midi Keyboards, is this a good choice for a beginner? Are there others you would recommend more? Thanks.

Any suggestions on Acid House artists? I pretty much got all the different house sub genres down but i never made an effort on acid. Never cared for it much but i want to expand my knowledge.
Never cared for techno a couple of years back but nowadays i love (some of) it.

Acid house:

Phuture - Acid Trax
Acid Trax was one of the most importance dance records of all time. Nothing like it had ever been heard before. Supposedly, Ron Hardy played it three times in one night. The first couple of times people didn't know how to react to it - like, what the fuck is this insane noise? When he played it later that night for the third time, people 'got it', lost their minds and went crazy. Acid house was born.

Adonis - The Poke
Sleazy D - I've lost control
Fast Eddie - Acid Thunder
Bam Bam - Give it to me

Acid went through a bit of a resurgence in the mid 90's with stuff like Hardfloor's Acperience, Josh Wink's Higher state of consiousness and the remix of Basshead's Is there anybody out there.

Techno:

Rhythm Is Rhythm - Strings of Life
Derrick May - The Dance
Ron Trent - Altered States
Joey Beltram - Energy Flash (probably my favourite techno track of all time).
Second Phase - Mentasm This spawned a sub-genre of a sub-genre lol, called 'hoover'. Because people thought the synth sounded like a hoover. Don't ask.
