Yeah, there's that too. I can't stop listening to it despite my ambivalence. It happened with Oblivion and I just listened to Genesis after not giving Visions a chance. Then I just bought Visions. I think that means I like it.

Have you listened to Halafaxa? It's a bit darker but incredible in its composition.

I saw Grimes live the weekend just passed. I really enjoyed it. It was a small venue, the (mostly female) crowd was going nuts, and the tracks are mostly more high energy than on the albums.

Also her voice was great, and she's super cute and shy.

Only downside was she played for a little under an hour.

Going to have to agree with a majority of that list. I was a little surprised to see L.I.E.S. at #1, but I can't say I heard a single bad release from them this year.

Wasn't really a fan of a lot of the samples they chose apart from Smalltown, Hotflush, and LIES... seems abstract and minimal techno was the order of the day this year and I'm not huge into the genre. Interested in seeing what their top 50 tracks are this year.

djtiesto: Yeah, RA is notoriously bad at picking song samples, at least in my experience. The only ones I don't agree with are the experimental labels and Prologue, but that's just because that's not really my taste.

editedit: I'll be emailing all y'all soon. It was my birthday this weekend, so was hungover+working and now I'm sick, so sorry for the delay in the mix thing. Just keep on working on them mixes!

LIES is a great new label, I was definitely impressed by a lot of it. Hopefully they continue on doing their thing without losing what makes them good.

Can't say I listened to much from the rest of list, other than a few Delsin releases. I have a hard time staying interested in a lot of new music.

From the sound of it 2013 will be a better year for music from my perspective.
