The Official NeoGAF Groundbreaking Electronic Music Thread™

So guys, this is totally fucking awesome. Part (but most, I think) of the GTA5 soundrack/stations listing has been leaked thanks to that preload on PS3 (so I assume these haven't actually been decrypted, but the filenames are indicative enough of the stations themselves). No word on the Kavinsky station (although he basically confirmed it on Twitter himself) but this is news to me... A FUCKING SOULWAX STATION!

Not a game spoiler, superdope tracklisting:

Cheers for the linkage

SOMEONE HELP ME

Okay, so there's this track that I swear was played during a Matador or Pan-Pot live set that I found on Youtube. I can't for the life of me remember the name of it, but the EP cover had a cartoon guy on the front in a jail suit (you know the stripy boiler suit style affair with a little jail hat), but his face was just one big mouth shouting... I know this is very little to work with, but any ideas?

edit: ^^^^^^ hey roosters! I remember your last.fm message! To be honest I never saw you posting before in this thread (sorry sorry! I never really watch the usernames). Also if more people have Last.fm in this thread feel free to add me, I'm always open to discover even more music. :)

I would almost buy the game so I could just cruise around with these songs, call me hyped for the music.. thanks for the list :)

Hah, hey Shane. I appreciate the shout out.

Just went to a wedding and had a nice long drive there and back listening to the Disclosure CD I bought a little while ago, but never before gave a fair listen to. A few of the songs run too similar at times, but still pretty solid, and still super excited to see them in October.

This song is still my fav from it, and no idea if anyone has posted it:
Disclosure - Help Me Lose My Mind (ft. London Grammar)

Also, wish I had an aux in/out for my car so I could play this:
Eli & Fur - Free Your Mind

Yeah Settle is pretty solid and fun. You should definitely check their old stuff as well, some of their best work isn't on Settle. This list is a great way to start. I also found this Disclosure remix by accident: Disclosure - Tenderly (Melé remix) which I have been listening non stop the past 2 days. (I'm probably LTTP with this song, but whatever).

Thanks for the link. Everyone should check it out.
I saw them link it on their Facebook before, and only took a glance at it. I had already heard maybe half of them, but was hoping to see Boiling somewhere there. I guess since it's on the LE of Settle it might not count. As for songs on the list, I think I first got turned on by randomly clicking on Noisey videos on Youtube, and seeing Control. I need to get around to hearing the rest.

At this point, I'm pretty much doing the same thing! I was going to wait for a PC port (if it wasn't to be available with the other platforms) but I reckon I might be swayed.

Also remember that Kavinsky is doing a station as well (according to him) and that hasn't been leaked at all :)

Fuuuuck, bummed I missed this! Always wanted to do a sesh with you and Shaneus. I was curled up in bed hungover as shit from Friday night. L4m3!
Don't stress little buddy! I think it was around 1am East coast time? Early afternoon Saturday in Australia. So I should be up for it the same time if other people are :)

If it helps, I saved the playlist!

Drive: The Videogame.

I hope the Kavinsky station has some of The Chromatics in there.

Also, what game is your avatar from, Shaneus? I can't place it.

Leaked footage from an unreleased Blur sequel Bizarre were working on (despite the writing on the wall that they'd close down). Changed it in the hope we'd see PGR5 next-gen, sadly not to be :(

I am / was hoping for a next gen version for GTA V, I have a huge backlog and I don't game that much anymore. The more info gets released the harder it becomes to skip it for now. Especially with some of the tracks I'm not sure I can resist it at all. :(

While I'm pretty sure I won't buy it solely because of the radio stations (well, buy it before it comes to PC), cruising around in GTA4 to this (which was seriously my favourite club track about 6 months before the game was released... possibly earlier) was zen as fuck.

Ooh. I've got all their released originals but will check out the remixes on here I haven't heard of before cheers. I reckon all the pre-the face originals > settle > the face

Also on tenderly remixes, I'm more partial to these:

Disclosure - Tenderly (Tom Wrecks remix)
Disclosure - Tenderly (Kidnap Kid remix)

probably got them itt once upon a time lol

Nina Kraviz LP is solid. A 7. The more experimental stuff kind of falls flat half the time, but the straight house/dance stuff is still great, if a little less so than her past releases. She definitely wanted the album to have varying modes and a flow, but yeah. Love or Go and Walking In The Night tho...sooo good.

Maya Jane Coles Nocturnal Sunshine EP is good stuff. Dunno why she released it under a different name. It's still pretty housey.

Waze and Odyssey's Be Right There EP is a banger. Awesome Citizen remix too.

Daniel Avery's Movement is solid.

Lando Kal's Maneuver EP is great.

Ghosts On Tape's recent No Guestlist/Still Got The Feeling EP is cooooooool. I wish he would release more original stuff instead of stacking his EPs with remixes though.

Edit: Actually the MJC NS ep isn't that housey at all. But it doesn't sound dissimilar from her more normal sound either.

Just got back from a week in Mykonos. Man, so much partying and music to go around. Most of the acts that perform there are pretty commercial, and the three shows I got to see were Steve Aoki, Roger Sanchez, and David Morales. However I have to say, Europeans know how to party waaaaaaay better than Americans. Damn. I need to schedule some more Europe party trips ASAP.

Had System on friday (Goth Trad, VIVEK and Kahn)
Played records from 11am till 11pm on saturday
the went to nottinghill carnival two days in a row, was at Channel one for one day and Digital Soundboy for the next
Saw, Btraits, Mark Ronson (meh but fun) Shy fx which was sick, Chase and status randomly and they only played 1 really shit song then Miss Dynamite and then later Breakage(?)

Shyfx was the best though, so so good.

Battered after such a long weekend.
Monday I did hear some really dodgey music but with sun, rum and joints it was such a laugh. I have a video of Shy FX playing the Shy FX /UK Apachi Original Nuttah and then he drops Mr Happy when the tune normally comes in. God I nearly broke my voice shouting so loud hahaha

Any of you vinyl guys have any suggestions for a cheap mixer?
I dont need anything fancy but I need something as the one that came with my decks has nothing but a crossfade and gains controls..

Just spent £30 on 3 records and Im approaching 50+ so I should learn to atleast beatmatch on vinyl to play at friends houses..

Ecler make some AMAZING products, absolutely. Perfect for home use.

Damn fucking right I've got one. Although that was hardly cheap. I think it was only ~$150AUDish cheaper than the DJM-800, but man... so fucking worth it. Feels like a fucking tank. Programmable filters as well, though I've never bothered to mess with them because fuck filters.
