Uh.

So.

A rather high profile DJ man asked me to make him a mix and send it to him, to help get me some proper gigs in NYC. I don't want to say who it is (yet, don't want to jinx it), but thought I'd share the mix with y'all. Deep, dubby techno mix that is just 7 seconds off from being exactly 45 minutes. We'll see what happens!

Vladislav Delay - Recovery IDea (Andy Stott Remix) (semantica)
Deadbeat - Sun People (Dub Divisionaire)(Wagon Repair)
Deepchord - Amsterdam Remnant 3 (Soma)
Delta Funktionen - Another Dimension (Ann Aimee)
Darko Esser - Slightly Disturbed (Peter van Hoesen Stretched and Pitched Remix)(Balans)
Matthew Style - Hot! (Running Back)
Milton Bradley - Motor City (Do Not Resist the Beat)
Octave One - I Believe (Sandwell District Remix) (430 West Records)
Peter van Hoesen - Liss 01 (Pendle Coven Remix) (Time to Express)
Gabriel Ananda & Cio D'Or - Lauschgoldengel (Treibstoff Recordings)
Extrawelt - Aufwind (Cocoon)

The Motor City>I Believe>Liss 01 is a little messy, should've just gone from MC > Liss, but ah well.

Cool, will give it a listen tomorrow!
Im still planning to come see you play out whenever I magically get the money together to come over to NY for abit!

New JLC? Oh god. Hngh.

Stewie P. hitting his (second) stride right about now. Although IMO he's yet to come close to the quality of output around the early-mid 2000s.

Edit: Correct me if I'm wrong, but that song sounds like it would be played very early in the morning (or late, I forget how it works... say, 4-5am-ish) in a gay club. Either way, holy fucking shit that's classic JLC. I hear a bit of The Conductor in there, as well as a little bit of Grey Day*.

Seriously... fucking love it. Now, someone find me a club where I'm likely to hear this thing. And some drugs, because I think that might be the sort of song that is genuinely better with drugs.

*FREE DOWNLOAD! Get on it, cunts.

OH GOD HOW DID I NEVER SEE THIS BEFORE?

Switch remix album!

PS. I was just in the middle of ripping Beatport a new one with their "most average electro house tracks of all time" list or some shit, when I completely remembered this fucking track. TAKE ME TO A CLUB WHERE THAT IS PLAYING RIGHT NOW.

NOW!

Also, a track I'd *completely* forgotten about:
Daso - T Anders (ugh, I could get lost in this track)

PPS. For an awesome trip back in time, check out this random thread I found on "electro house" from 6 or 7 years ago. Some people have surprisingly good taste in there.

Don't laugh, but for the first 30s-1m of that track all I could think of was this*.

*I want to do an LNTG-style re-edit of this, but absolutely don't have the chops to do it :( Edit: And because it came up in the suggestion box, I reckon this could be done in the same style with great success too (if only because it's that track you know the hook to but can never find out what it's called or where you even ever heard it ffs).

A bit more conventional and straightforward than I was hoping for, but some nice tracks here. Sounds like much of Mueller's output in recent years, and to my ears Stingray's influence is less felt.
The previews and what's on yt reminds me of Der Zyklus and/or Zwischenwelt with the beats from something like Urban Tribe's Acceptable Side Effects. Winning combo if you ask me.

Found recently these two tracks

SBTRKT - Living Like I Do (Lil Silva Remix)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACptzSCHLEs
Krystal Klear - Tried For Your Love (Hudson Mohawke Remix)
https://soundcloud.com/allcitydublin/krystal-klear-tried-for-your-love-hudson-mohawke-remix-ackk12x1

Wish that Hudmo would do more house and 4x4 stuff, this one is staggering.

edit: couple more:

Ennio Morricone - Come Maddalena (Cosmos/Tom Middleton Remix)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZeFBDF8Ddo

Alice Smith - Love Endeavor (Maurice Fulton Remix)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r79K6mZt44I

copped HAIM - Don't Save Me (Cyril Hahn Remix) on 10", sounds insane on a proper system.

I said goddamn:

Recycle Culture, "Meet Her at the Blood Parade" (Dissociation Mix)

Wouldn't recommend watching the video unless you enjoy epileptic seizures.
I know I'm probably like a month off or something, but a friend just pointed it out to me... it's back!!! (although I have a weird feeling that CB might've posted when it was officially released? I dunno. I may have even bought it. Anyway, it's back in the forefront of my mind again so I'm happy)

Edit: Wait, fuck. After I started downloading it (again) from Bandcamp the first file had that "(1)" suffix... meaning I'd already bought it before. Whoops. Oh well, awesome people deserve support, so I have no problem with that :)

Edit #2: I'mma make this post worthwhile: Metronomy - Corinne (Mario Basanov Remix)

Prefuse tape is great.

Onemans remix starts off awesome and I love everything about it but it gets a little tired halfway through for me. Still top notch, testament to all involved.

Putting together a mixtape like ones youd do on a cassette tape years ago rather than a Dj mix for a friends birthday spanning the last three or four years of us going to festivals, traveling and all things like that.

Probably going to be the longest thing Ive ever recorded, thankfully Im not that intrested in how well mixed it will be as its everything from Jungle,Drum and bass,"pop drum and bass", Brostep, Dubstep, Trance, whatever Rustie is, House of all kinds and a few lines from human Traffic tossed in, something like 180 right down to 90

So Ive spent all day going through albums like Above and Beyond, Sub Focus and so on and being reminded off all the good times. Def makes a change from youtubeing the latest cutting edge stuff.

Going out on Friday for said Birthday to see DJ EZ play shit loads of Garage, should be fun :)

Truly. Love hooking up the old HDD and browse through all my melodic trance and older house / trance sound. Reminds me of late middle school and high school, counter strike 1.6 and driving around with car smoking and drinking red bulls hahah.

slusnik luna - sun

stuff like this still holds a special place in my heart

Trailer for new album of Chromeo (including the new song 'Over Your Shoulder') is released:

link.

They're doing a boiler room set tomorrow as well.

e: more "EDM", but worth a share I guess, Avicii's new song with Nile Rodgers collar:
Avicii - Lay Me Down

Yeah well, I used to be a sucker for this kind of stuff. Surprised that someone knows of Slusnik Luna, they weren't that well known back then.

They made trance in 2003 that sounded like trance in 1997 so they were good by me. Sonorous had a similar sound.

Narcotic Thrust - Safe From Harm is a big tune from that time too, a housey version of Sun.

.

Thats the thing I loved the most in older trance sound: each producer had a distinctive sound of their own. A few similarities of course here and there but anyone who listened to this stuff could tell instantly if a new track was made by Ferry or Armin.
I get your Sonorous comparing, but then again, Sonorous sound isnt quite exactly like Slusnik's, you know =)

edit: brofist for Narcotic Thrust, best edit of the sound of violence.
