Still can't get over CFCF becoming a big deal. Last time I saw him, he was a dorky guy on Hipinion making chip-tune-esque disco tunes. Dude has come so far! Really happy for the guy.

No internet sucks. Another week at least..

Went to the evian Christ trance party last night, was sick.
Evian Christ b2b mssingo
Total freedom
Nuzunguzunguzu
Dobbel Dutch

Saw Caribou, Four Tet, Jamie XX and Kaytranada at Pitchfork Paris last night, amazing line-up. Jamie XX was the highlight, I was afraid his set was cold or too sterile but it was just pure madness.

My god, the new Perc:

Perc - Hyperlink

Beast of a track.
Perc is so insane, I'm not sure if I like his sound or not, but it's pretty damn crazy for sure. Extremely raw, but powerful. His recent Tri-City is awesome as well. Also similar to Perc, I came across this track yesterday, crazy as well:

Plukkk - B1
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZit_BaCE3A

Speaking about raw techno, I'm seeing Spherical Coordinates (Oscar Mulero & Christian Wünsch) and Clouds next week. I've heard quite a few negative things about Clouds live, they spin quite a lot off-beat and experimental. I'm actually a fan of surprising DJ-sets with ordinary elements in it. So it will be interesting for sure.

Will be interesting for sure.

Jaime XX did a mini set during The XX show I went to and he was bonkers.

Nice to see someone else here dig the harder techno. Have a compilation that you should check out:

VA - Slowly Exploding (10 Years of Perc Trax)

"Aphelion" is an excellent compilation, but this one's almost as good, om nom.

And a fantastic upcoming album on Tresor:

Jonas Kopp - Beyond The Hypnosis

I kinda dig this Hemsworth record. it's too mixtape-y--sequencing and vibe between tracks is a bit cobbled together on the whole, despite most of the tracks flowing into each other musically. Which would've been fine, but it seems to present itself as a tight short album with a theme rather than something more scattered. like if you're gonna make something that's switching tone a lot, why not include more than 28 minutes of music by throwing in tracks like the ricky eat acid one on the snow in newark single. still, the center chunk of Snow in Newark to Blemish to Too Long Here (alex g spicy boy squad out here) is creative and awesome. wish the tracks on either side of that suite were as interesting.

post with that Fis track above reminding me how good that Iterations EP was, even better than Preparations. hope ∆ will get a full length out of him next year to go with the hopeful returns of Holy Other and/or Balam Acab.

leary tweeting about accidentally trying to kick bjork out the booth was cracking me up. that list looks insane but I actually haven't heard much dobbel. will have to check it out.

Halloween night party Freaker's Ball, out here in California, saw the following on 3 stages, all Funktion 1 Dance Stations (among others that nobody has heard of):

ill.Gates
Gaudi
Andreilien (fka Heyoka)
Otto Von Shcirach

Andreilien was the best of the night, surprising since ill.Gates is usually so good.

Can't wait till New Year's Eve... we get Tipper playing NYE in our town every year.

Great thanks! I saw Jonas Kopp b2b with Gary Beck this summer. Lovely set (I'm a huge fan of Gary Beck as well). If you have more recommendations, I'd love to know!

Here are a few I'm spinning a lot lately:

Cadans - Fix
[/I][/B]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uMbEx6FwQI

Randomer - Stupid Things I Do (New school mix)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQlgUEi1B5s

Keepsakes - Galso In Camo (free download!)
https://soundcloud.com/xlr8r/keepsakes-galso-in-camo

AnD - Jellyfish
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eecqVDWz4QY

What I really love about the first three are the fresh, organic percussion sounds. Just like Blawans production.

To make you jealous. the line-up where I'm going with NYE is so sick: Blawan, Luke Slater, James Ruskin, Mercel Fengler, Function, Mike Parker and Psyk.

I must be the only person who did not shit themselves over that Randomer EP. Thought it was pretty boring. Maybe I should give it another try.

As for your NYE: you stink :(

That NYE is... not bad, not bad. /jealous

Have the Randomer and AnD EPs on vinyl here at home, love that kind of stuff too.

If you like percussive techno, try this EP: Kamikaze Space Programme - Concrete Musique

The Bailiff
Network Rail

And a recent favorite of mine:

Tenebre - Poison The Machine

The first track on the Concrete Musique EP is really great! The rest as well. I was only familiar with Battery from KSP before. Great stuff! Also loving the Ténèbre track. So lively!

Thank FUCK I have wifi again.

So anyway, yeah saw Kelela last night with support from Grandmixxer and Novelist. Was alot of fun and man she is sexy as hell.

She did a shout out to Arca (produced a new track I guess?) and I had read something about him producing Byorks new lp. So got my wifi back and looked him up and and shiiiit how did I sleep on this? Im actually mildly annoyed ive missed picking up a limited copy of his LP by like 3 days.

^
also John, this is wicked

Ha thanks, I actually buy all of their stuff on site these days as its allways good. They are basically the new Deep Medi

I miss the impromptu twitch streams from Kingdom's bedroom. Great group of people.

What pretty recent track samples Ain't Nobody by Chaka Khan? It's stuck in my head but I can't remember who did it or the name of the track. Might be LNTG.

Edit: at work so can't check

Saw Nina Kraviz last night for the first time.

Could not have been more boring.

she fucking blows. I saw her at movement two years ago. Literally the first 35 minutes of her set were identical to her RA podcast. Its like, I know its early in the day but could you possibly care any less?

Every track sounded the same. Every. Single. One. Also the venue, Slake, sucked a massive turd. Awful sound and layout.

I don't know at all about her as a DJ, but she's a great producer. I really like that mini LP she put out a few months ago.
