I'd definitely go if I were you... really dying to go to EP/IC... he's one of my top producers of all time but I still haven't seen Prydz live yet.

Tiger and Woods show in Brooklyn was amazing, I got to shake their hands after the set even, it was awesome. They played mostly their songs, but were re-editing them on the fly using Novation + Ableton, so it really threw things for a loop... they were only on for an hour and a half though but it was so worth it.

Any suggestions on where to startwith his music? Ive heard a few songs of his but nothing that imidiatly springs to mind. Fake blood, Coles and Sander Van Doorn would be me drivng reason to go at the moment but I have heard the Epic show is pretty crazy.

He's come a long way. His EPs on Credence were great. His remix of Futureshock - Pride's Paranoia is fantastic. Then he hit it big with Call On Me and Pjanoo and I haven't listened to any of his recent stuff.

Probably should check stuff under his Pryda name, Inspiration has a great Deadmau5-type vibe.

Wild Beasts - Thankless Thing <-- Free track, post-dubstep (?). Really nice track.
Wild Beasts are awesome, but I don't know about post-dubstep... If anything they remind me of Junior Boys on the one hand, and The Blue Nile on the other. But if you enjoy this track, I recommend their latest LP, Smother. The previous one, Two Dancers, is great too, though less electronic.

Closer Musik didn't put out many tracks before they (Matias Aguayo and Dirk Leyers) split up, but most of it is unimpeachable. May I suggest "Departures" (off Kompakt Total 3) if you like "Maria"? Of course their classic is "One Two Three (No Gravity)" off Kompakt Total 2...

That explains why it was so hard to find more of their stuff! Thanks for this. :)

And to continue this subject, while studying in the early AM for a midterm.

First heard this on a Sasha mix. Maybe Fundacion NYC? Kompakt are really on the ball when it comes to fresh electronic muzak.
I'd say they have slipped a bit over the years, but it's a matter of personal taste of course. I do own the complete Total Kompakt series though :) I can't wait for Gui Boratto's III!

Quick radio set I sent to a friend to play on an online stream. One day I'll get into mixing, semester is already full of work. :(

1. drive it like you stole it - the glitch mob
2. maximum (bassnectar & Ill. Gates remix) - la methode and dj vadim
3. feel so close (Nero remix) - calvin harris
4. cloudburn (Feat. Tasha Baxter) - feed me
5. unison (Knife Party Remix) - porter robinson
6. electron - nero
7. choices - nero
8. scary monsters and nice sprites (dirtyphonics remix) - skrillex
9. kill everybody (bare noize remix) - skrillex
10. crush on you (knife party remix) - nero
11. me and you - nero
12. innocence - nero

Lots of Nero, kind of spur the moment.

Oh and that all said, I'm a volunteer at our campus radio now. Hopefully by December I'll be on the air as a DJ. :D

Um, I don't know what sort of music that is but I don't think I'm a big fan of it.

For something completely different, I'm generally not a fan of dubstep or anything that sounds like it, but I think I like this. Aggro as fuck, like a robot having a fit:
Porter Robinson - Unison (Knife Party remix)
Not the sort of thing I'd listen to regularly, but if I heard it at a club, I have no doubt I would fair square lose my shit.

I know a few people are fans of The Weeknd in here and as it was new from them so chucked it up. Its pretty different from anything on their "House of Balloons" or "Thursday" Mixtape.

Knife party is Rob Swire (Pendulum) dubstep type ofshot!

Oh, I wasn't dismissing anyone's tastes or anything like that. Just saying that as a general rule, I can't get into electronic music that doesn't make me want to (at least) tap my feet. Different strokes :)

And Knife Party is Rob Swire? I feel so conflicted now, ever since he did those woeful vocals on the Ghosts n Stuff re-release I've not respected him since. Did such a good job building goodwill with Fasten Your Seatbelt, too.

Aha Yeah I get what you are saying, I was the same with Jamie XX and James Blake but once it wormed its way in I find it hard not to tap along.
It definalty helped that both of the "albums" are free so I could give it a listen withought thinking "fuck I just spent £8 on this"

I have to say this is my fav song by them The Weeknd - House Of Balloons / Glass Table Girls 3.30-ish is gooood.

I blame joelseph!

Fans of the Night Slugs label and the whole UK bass scene would do well to check out Defiant Order, the third LP from the all-star collective Birdy Nam Nam: four hip hop DJ's who produce some quality tracks together. That record was produced by Para One, and it slays!

They don't stream the record on their site or Soundcloud, but you can try Deezer or Spotify.

Florence + The Machine • "Shake It Out" (The Weeknd Remix) | (Radio Rip)

Apparently it was played by Zane Lowe on Radio One so no doubt The Weeknd will blow up soon and a million angsty gremlins will swarm all over it but oh well aha

They are already remixed to hell and back. I would say them, drake, Frank Ocean and the like will be rooted in the EDM scene for some time to come! (no complaints). Thanks for sharing, missed this! =)

I used to be the same way. Only had eyes for house that made you fucking jack. Slowly my tastes changed and now I love it all. =)

My search is now over, I bought 2 mint boxed SL1200-M3Ds with under 6 hours of use. Will see if I have enough records to make an all vinyl mix when they come in. Super pumped.

I dislike dubstep quite a bit, but this is a half shade towards normal head bouncing for me enough to somewhat enjoy it.

Exactly. Weird, isn't it? It's far more interesting than the cookie-cutter tripe that Skrillex puts out. I swear he just has the same template that he just drops a different acapella into. Plus, the dude just looks like a fucking douche with a face designed for punching.

I'm seeing Leger in a little over a month at a club gig. Can't wait!

Does anyone know if Don Diablo club gigs are any good? I liked him the first few times I saw him at festivals but the last time he played a few dubstep tracks in a row. Now I've soured on him completely. Hard to imagine him playing that in an intimate venue though, so I'm curious.

It's on a Monday night, though :/

I saw him at some smaller venues years ago and he played cheese, lots of cheese.

It starts with finding a song you like/tolerate. Then all of a sudden you'll have dubstep creeping into your library. That's what happened to me anyway.

Nup. Not gonna happen.

PS. Word of warning to those thinking about getting the Interstella 5555 bluray. Don't.
