Thinking of going to this as its only £25 odd
Jealous! Shame I cant download it as the first 7mins alone has had a whole bunch of tunes from my youth allready!
Johnlenham said:Any suggestions on where to startwith his music?
daviyoung said:He's come a long way. His EPs on Credence were great. His remix of Futureshock - Pride's Paranoia is fantastic. Then he hit it big with Call On Me and Pjanoo and I haven't listened to any of his recent stuff.
Probably should check stuff under his Pryda name, Inspiration has a great Deadmau5-type vibe.
Alucrid said:Partial playlist. Still doesn't have what you want though lol. Sure Thing sounds soooo much better slowed down.
Holy shit, this looks amazing!joelseph said:Essential Mix 9-24-11 Julio Bashmore

Wild Beasts are awesome, but I don't know about post-dubstep... If anything they remind me of Junior Boys on the one hand, and The Blue Nile on the other. But if you enjoy this track, I recommend their latest LP, Smother. The previous one, Two Dancers, is great too, though less electronic.daviyoung said:Wild Beasts - Thankless Thing <-- Free track, post-dubstep (?). Really nice track.
Closer Musik didn't put out many tracks before they (Matias Aguayo and Dirk Leyers) split up, but most of it is unimpeachable. May I suggest "Departures" (off Kompakt Total 3) if you like "Maria"? Of course their classic is "One Two Three (No Gravity)" off Kompakt Total 2...AcridMeat said:New relaxing music!
Closer Musik - Maria
saw them live a few years back, fun showOrgun said:
That explains why it was so hard to find more of their stuff! I'd say they have slipped a bit over the years, but it's a matter of personal taste of course. I do own the complete Total Kompakt series though I can't wait for Gui Boratto's III!daviyoung said:First heard this on a Sasha mix. Maybe Fundacion NYC? Kompakt are really on the ball when it comes to fresh electronic muzak.
joelseph said:Thanks to Jamie's Essential mix I cannot get enough of New Look.
Their Janet cover is amazing! I have been singing along ever since.

I think I posted a page or two (or three) ago about To The Stars. Will check out Big Adventure now!BakedPigeon said:im sure most of you have listened, or heard of, Feed Me.
check out Feed Me's Big Adventure. amazing.
Shaneus said:Um, I don't know what sort of music that is but I don't think I'm a big fan of it.
For something completely different, I'm generally not a fan of dubstep or anything that sounds like it, but I think I like this. Aggro as fuck, like a robot having a fit:
Porter Robinson - Unison (Knife Party remix)
Not the sort of thing I'd listen to regularly, but if I heard it at a club, I have no doubt I would fair square lose my shit.
Shaneus said:Oh, I wasn't dismissing anyone's tastes or anything like that. Just saying that as a general rule, I can't get into electronic music that doesn't make me want to (at least) tap my feet. Different strokes
And Knife Party is Rob Swire? I feel so conflicted now, ever since he did those woeful vocals on the Ghosts n Stuff re-release I've not respected him since. Did such a good job building goodwill with Fasten Your Seatbelt, too.
Johnlenham said:Florence + The Machine "Shake It Out" (The Weeknd Remix) | (Radio Rip)
Apparently it was played by Zane Lowe on Radio One so no doubt The Weeknd will blow up soon and a million angsty gremlins will swarm all over it but oh well aha

crispyben said:Fans of the Night Slugs label and the whole UK bass scene would do well to check out Defiant Order, the third LP from the all-star collective Birdy Nam Nam: four hip hop DJ's who produce some quality tracks together. That record was produced by Para One, and it slays!
They don't stream the record on their site or Soundcloud, but you can try Deezer or Spotify.
Johnlenham said:I have to say this is my fav song by them The Weeknd - House Of Balloons / Glass Table Girls 3.30-ish is gooood.
I blame joelseph!
I dislike dubstep quite a bit, but this is a half shade towards normal head bouncing for me enough to somewhat enjoy it.Shaneus said:Um, I don't know what sort of music that is but I don't think I'm a big fan of it.

Exactly. Weird, isn't it? It's far more interesting than the cookie-cutter tripe that Skrillex puts out. I swear he just has the same template that he just drops a different acapella into. Plus, the dude just looks like a fucking douche with a face designed for punching.Skiptastic said:I dislike dubstep quite a bit, but this is a half shade towards normal head bouncing for me enough to somewhat enjoy it.
Shaneus said:Does anyone know if Don Diablo club gigs are any good? I liked him the first few times I saw him at festivals but the last time he played a few dubstep tracks in a row. Now I've soured on him completely. Hard to imagine him playing that in an intimate venue though, so I'm curious.

Nup. Not gonna happen.AcridMeat said:It starts with finding a song you like/tolerate. Then all of a sudden you'll have dubstep creeping into your library. That's what happened to me anyway.
