With Abel's f.mk dash st.fierce combo, you have to hit punch way earlier than you would think. Its tough though, I've been maining Abel for almost a year and I can only do the link a third of the time.

So many Kens online right now :lol Ran into 3 straight flow charts. Haven't faced off against one of those in a long ass time. Flowcharty enough to beat my Guile but not my Fuerte. And this never fails:

Me: jump off wall.....SHORT
Him: ULTRA
Me: lolz

And I have to remember, Ken's Ultra has some weird hit box properties after he lands after whiffing the Ultra. I have to remember to always Focus Attack it instead of responding with Ultra immediately (if I'm close).

I just thought of a fun way to mess around in the trials. Try to pass it while doing crazy stuff. I remember an old Balrog vid of someone doing one of his trials, but with EX Upper links scattered within it. Just now I was able to pass Gouken's trial of throw into ultra into throw, double hit jumping medium into an ultra that just got a single hit of it's short-animation version. Total damage, 119! Still a pass though.

Also throw -> light palm -> FADC -> ultra gets two ultra hits for a 198 damage combo and pass of his trial 2.

Anyone still playing sf4 on pc? My motherboard died so I'm replacing my whole computer. My new one should actually be able to play sf4 pc when I get done with it.

I don't know if there's a place to post something like this in the forum, and since it's an issue that's going to prohibit me from playing SFIV properly I will ask here. Basically my NAT is moderate. I've reset my modem/router combo like 3 times, turned my Xbox on and off, gone in and manually set all my IP/DNS settings, manually opened the ports needed to get on Live and it's still not working. Does anyone know where the issue could be coming from? Could it be an ISP thing? Could it be a router malfunction? Is it temporary? Can I fix it?

I'll still be around, and quite a few GAF'er as well although I don't play them much :p

And that also concludes day 1 of learning to play on a stick. It's such a struggle to find the button you need and do freaking dragon punches. But I'm going to hang in there, hopefully by the time SSF4 comes out I'll be confident enough to play online because I have too much of a ego to take beat downs from random strangers and leaving them thinking "this Rice Eater guy is such a scrub".

yeah I know man, that was fun. This game is the most fun when you're playing an "equal" opponent. Sorry I don't know more characters. I'm going to make it my goal to learn to play with at least one other character that way people on my friends list don't get bored fighting Sagat over and over! :D
I don't mind homie. You can pick Sagat all day, everyday and I still would have fun playing against your Sagat. I really need to learn to fadc my moves though in online matches. Fun fun stuff. :D
Also, I love picking randoms even though I can't play decent with half the cast (especially charge characters lol) but I still have a blast playing with all of em. That's what I love about this game. Can't wait till SSF4!

im giving sf4 a break untill super..i think im only playing with friends until it comes out...too many tight assed people online still playing lame....at this point id rather just get decimated then have to chase someone around for 90 seconds...seriously this shit is just getting old

GG's AZ Greg. As you can see, I sometimes have trouble playing characters who have to commit to their jump unlike Cammy. I need to become more tactical in my moving, that's for sure. That Sim of yours is getting scarier, ate up my Guile really quick and was just irritating enough to get me to make mistakes, most notably too much dashing when I finally scored a knockdown :lol Awesome patience there.

I still think Cammy is a bullshit match for Sim. Even if I whiff ultra, unless you have bar, I don't eat a big enough punish to discourage me. Good use of the standing mk (I think?) when I was spamming dive kicks on top of you, it's so hard for Sim to get her off of him.

Always up for another set, but I can't wait for Super so I can see if I can use CQC to my advantage in this matchup. This is one of the few matches for Cammy where it might have some applications, but then again, it's already one of her more bearable matchups...

I fought Chris Hu last night on Champ Mode. He won, but I dizzied/stunned him in the second round and won that at least :D But on Round 3 the match was pretty ordinary, until he knocked me down and did the cross tatsu to super

u know how Gouken stomps the ground when he does his st. HP and close st. HP, well its a lovely feeling when you hear the stomp but you still get grabbed.

anyways im gonna start Demon Souls now till Super, i hear its a very relaxing game.

GGs.

Yeah, Cammy is a pain. But it evens out with the Guile match-up. IIRC that's Sim's best match-up. So we both get to put each other through a tough match. :lol

I am starting to feel more comfortable with the Cammy match though. I feel like I can keep her out or focus her on all her approaches except the hooligan. Like I was telling Botox, that thing is damn hard to punish online. And I have to take the risk of punishing it with a standing normal that pushes you back a good distance as opposed to just crouch blocking and poking it because if I do that you'll be inside and the trade off for you will be well worth it.

I also need to work on my punishes when I block an unsafe spiral arrow. I tend to just react with a throw when Sim's b.MK xx lp yoga flame or b.HP xx ex yoga flame would do at least a little more damage.

Question for all of you other Sim players. How do you guys deal with a Bison sitting on a life lead. I can handle him a bit when he's coming after me, but if he gets and sits on a life lead then I don't know what to do. This guy I played yesterday would get the life lead and then just do a bunch of full screen devil's reverses. He'd keep it full screen so I couldn't get in range to pop him with a j.MP and if I tried to approach I had to watch out for scissors kicks and other Bison tools. The biggest reasons I started learning Sim, aside from liking his style, is that he forces action. Got tired of chasing people with Vega only to get greeted with jab barrages or running into a special. Bison sitting on a life lead against Sim reminds me of that. :(

I have seen Arturo, Chris Hu, and Sabre online.

Arturo: couldn't join room.

Chris Hu: Join room and before I could make a happy face got kicked lol

Sabre: When I played him it was pretty one sided each round. I played Viper and he went with Sakura. Pretty much I got momentum in the first round and just cross up burning kicks, but 2nd round he got me in the mix up, 3rd round it was one sided again with me winning.

Yeah, it sorta seems that way. Just last night I had a Guile in Championship Mode ragequit on me 3 seconds into the match. He then messaged me, saying that all Dhalsims do the same thing and that I'm a noob :lol

Yeah, it sucks when chars like Dictator, Blanka, and Honda get a life lead. For me it's pretty hit or miss when I have to go on the offensive against those guys since I pretty much have to rely on guesses and attempting to bait stuff out.

Against Bison, I'd try to bait out something with fireballs if I'm full screen. If that doesn't work, move a little closer with more cautious fireballs and try to bait out something else. I'd then try to score as many yoga snipers as I can get away with, but in the end, if the Bison player doesn't bite and still continues to turtle, then I guess I'd just try to rush in and hope for the best with some slide xx yoga fires, slide xx yoga flames, back mk xx yoga fire, and hopefully land a throw while avoiding being thrown, scissor kicked, or standing roundhoused. It's pretty futile.

If you can score a knockdown, a meaty fierce yoga flame on Bison's wakeup can be useful (unless he has ultra meter).

Bah, I don't think I'll ever be able to play Abel. No matter how much I practice, I can't get enough pressure on someone in a match and I react way too slowly after landing a cHP. I still can't reliable do his fMK>dash>HP either :(

GGs Botox.

Just think you need to be a little more aggressive. You tend to play passively early in the match and put yourself at full screen right from the beginning. Then you end up taking all the zoning pokes and fireballs on your way back in. It also gives me the opportunity to build meter like crazy and generally get a super per round. And that's one of Sim's best tools against Cammy. When I play Sasa's Cammy he's on me right from the start. Even if it means taking some damage to get in. When I face him I'm lucky to get 2 supers if the match goes the entire 3 rounds. And I'm generally fighting with the corner since I'm trying to get my zoning space but he's trying to stay on top of me as much as possible.

Holy shit that was a clutch move by Akimo's Honda (standing fierce chop cancel into super headbutt) to beat Momochi's Akuma for the team battle win. How the hell did he hit confirm that...

Edit: lol am I the only one watching this?

Yeah, so I went down to Casino yesterday, was really fun. It's a tiny hole of an arcade, but it has 6 SFIV cabs all linked up to each other. So every Friday the place is packed with people playing it along with Tekken 6 and 3rd Strike. I never realised how lively the London fighting game scene is!

Damn, had no idea it was already on - they're on a break now it seems...

And I missed Honda and Blanka gameplay? Shoot.

Doing some work on the laptop so I hooked up another monitor just for the stream - it's so good... :)
