I went to the nearest gamestop and there was some other guy there asking for the game too. We were told that a nearby gamestop had copies but he wasn't sure how many and that we should probably race if we wanted a copy. So we got in our cars and had a street race for the game:lol Lo and behold, when we got there, there were like 50 copies.

I do this thing now where I alternate between the d-pad and analog stick. Doing Hadokens is really easy with the analog stick, but more precise inputs are better on the d-pad.

Heh, I called that gamestop earlier in the day, they said they'll get a delivery around 3:30. I got there around 4:20 expecting it to have cleared out and there's easily 50 or 70 heads in front of me standing outside in a line. Was not expecting that at all. So much hype for this game. :-D

I will become a good player! Here's another question, though - I've heard lots of comments about 'canceling' out of a kick (with M. Bison in this case) and going straight into his scissor kick, or something. What do people mean? You can turn a regular kick into his scissor kick?

Also, is there any trick for the 'charge' moves? For instance, Bison's ultra requires a charge, then another three directional inputs. How in the name of god am I supposed to combo 'into' that Ultra?

Sorry to annoy, I really am a total novice.

These 2 are basically the same thing. it's a combo.
I don't have the game, but I'm guessing guiles combos are pretty much the same, so i'll use him as an example.
crouch down and away from the opponent, ↙ this will let you charge your sonic boom or somersault kick without walking backwards. you can attack all you want while holding ↙ and it will still be charging the special move.

so, get next to a character on your right in training mode and hold ↙ for a couple secs, the tap light punch and imediately press → and punch. that should give you a quick little 2 hit combo, JAB - SONIC BOOM!

then try replacing the jab with other attacks, like medium punch or light kick.
get that stuck in your brain before replacing the sonic boom with the complicated special commands (what's guiles? is it ↙↘↙↗+punch?)

just remember that you can start charging at anytime and attack while it's charging, hold ↙ immediately after you jump at someone for example.

As long as you put the setting to the lowest difficulty, it's not that hard. On normal? KOF frustration comes to mind.
