I'm not worried after Avowed. I think gun combat is easier to nail than melee and magic, and they already did that with flying colors. Is this the first Unreal 5 sci-fi game? Should be a looker too. They are banking quiet a bit on this and promising big things.
Hopefully it lives up.

Obsidian pretty much said they are going for mediocrity.
Didn't like the first one's tone. If everything is a satire, nothing feels grounded; no real emotions, the violence and the jokes doesn't have space to breathe... Very shallow game. Better than Starfiled, tho.
Tried looking, I was mistaken. My L.They did? Where?
Well too early to call that but it certainly looks a massive improvement over the first one that's for sureThe preview screams GOTY.
You just know it's going to be uninspired GamePass slop geared for "mild success". Haven't seen anything to the contrary really. Is going to be such a shit show.
The first one was a hard mid, idk why they did a sequel, and after avowed
just lol

It's not going to be terrible, just very bland and non-offensive in every single regard.
If the game is as long as the first, then the price should be at least half that.WRONG!!! It's $80 price tag is offensive.![]()
They have repeatedly said its their biggest RPG they have ever made. Compared to size of New Vegas even.If the game is as long as the first, then the price should be at least half that.
Fuck. I like the shorter games because I get sick of games that are too long. I have a job and kids to take care of. Putting 60-80 hours into a game is not something I like doing. Nor is not completing something I started. I usually end up hate-finishing these things. They have repeatedly said its their biggest RPG they have ever made. Compared to size of New Vegas even.
How good it is remains to be seen.
There are some games which become more impressive with size. A lot of rpgs belong to that category especially if gameplay is good.Fuck. These pre-order numbers will be horrible. This game is gonna bomb so hard.
$80 for AA game deserves to fail.
a AAA game for $70 vs. a AA game for $80.![]()

Both are about the same budget, therefor both are either AA or AAA. You wish for DS2 to fail?a AAA game for $70 vs. a AA game for $80.
As I said, it's gonna bomb so hard!

Funnily enough the first game in the series was rated higher than DS1.
Now from the previews it seems like it's massively improved in every single way and with much larger budget.
They have put out a lot of info on character building.First one is one of my favourite RPGs. Hope combat will be a bit better with AoE weapons like grenades or launchers. I really like the skill system of the first one, where points in a main skill increased all of the sub-skills to degree until you have to specialize. Or that you could earn traits through your playstyle, like fear of robots which gave you some permanent malus but also a trait point. And it's one of the very few RPGs where charisma and speech skills also have some bonuses in combat.
I hope they stick to their core RPG mechanics and don't dumb it down like Fallout 4 does to Fallout 3 and NV.

In regards of the topic of pre-order: useless for me on a digital product that can't get out of stock and has a delivery time only limited by your internet bandwidth. No amount of digital gimmicky crap could make me pre-order a digital product.
You're talking about F4?They did mentioned that those stats Strength, Dexterity, Luck etc makes things confusing and take away some flexibility in making builds.
Please share the budget amount for both these games, since it seems like you have that insider information. Both are about the same budget, therefor both are either AA or AAA. You wish for DS2 to fail?

No, Outer Worlds 2.You're talking about F4?
It's not just builds, though, but also the whole role-playing part. New Vegas had also a lot of skill checks in dialogue, e.g. if you wanted to do surgery to someone you better have a high medical skill. If you fail to do so, there was some hilarious dialogue lines and responses from NPCs. If you passed the skill check, there was a different, way more convincing line. It was great for immersive role-playing.
This was sadly completely absent in F4. Dialogue choices were only: yes, sarcastic yes, more info please, no.
