I really don't think it's a "47 GB patch" for Doom on Xbox One. Geez.
Through Chapter 5. There's also chapter skips to get past it.
Cool. I prefer to listen (and I've gotten that far so I can), but would've just skipped it if it wasn't clear how far into the game the talk covered.

This. Ethan is def one of the best guestHow many chapters deep into Uncharted 4 does the spoiler talk go? A lot of real world commitments have limited my play time.
I noticed he referred to the show as "we" this episode (still listening right now). I'm happy to listen to him on the show as long as his schedule permits him to participate.

It's 5
It should say in the episode description and in the chapter marker - did everything we could so that people would not be accidentally spoiled.

also i wouldn't really need to use "i couldn't swap my sticks" as an excuse considering i paid too much for a controller and can remap them.

So, uh, apparently that person not playing Doom on video was actually playing Doom on video.
In the replies to the last tweet he says that was in response to a different video he links to by the look of it.
So wait, he denied that it was him - and now we find out and he admits that that video IS him playing? That's even more embarrassing.
Should have saved all the EGM talk this week for episode 500 and gone all out
A couple of things about the Uncharted talk:
1) I guess I can maybe see Ethan's perspective on cover shooters for a typical player, but I don't think they all feel the same. I like them, though I don't play a ton of them... but to me the feel of Gears of War vs. Uncharted is dramatically different.
2) I've gotten further in the game, and I think Chapter 8 has -- so far -- the two worst encounters in the game. By far. There's the one Greg was talking about and I also found the first arena-y encounter that happened early in the level was also not a lot of fun. I was actually starting to worry about whether I was going to enjoy the game, because there was the big firefight in an earlier chapter that also sent a lot of combat at you... and I started to think it was just going to be a case of the game dropping guys on all sides of you at all times.

Shame Greg isn't feeling it for Uncharted 4. Need Mike on for spoilercast.
The email where someone broke up with someone because of their hobbies means that person wasn't meant for them.
Is Twitch and Twitter a hobby though?

Can't wait for 500. I can't believe how long it's been. Still my favorite of the 10 or so gaming podcast I listen to.
Thanks I just listened to his section and you covered most of what I was going to say. To add to this, the breakout box is not responsible for the reprojection. That task is handled by the PS4's GPU.To clarify for Ethan, Oculus and Vive do both insist on 90fps games for VR, while PSVR will have 60fps games, but PSVR also automatically "reprojects" every frame twice in 60fps mode to provide a 120fps output that accounts for head movement. PSVR also supports 90fps and 120fps modes for games with simpler graphics. Neither the Rift or Vive have 120hz capable screens in them.
And when you look at the graphics of so many of the VR games being released on PC right much of it is pretty low-fi and should be well within the original PS4's capabilities. I think on PC the hardware requirements are a bit inflated by the need to brute force poorly optimized experiences built with Unity and variables outside the game's control on an open platform like Windows. PSVR also has the advantage of the breakout box which alleviates the processing requirements for creating an undistorted view from in game.
Maybe 600 will be the return of Dormer(bot)?
The introduction of Mikbot.
