I agree and personally I don't think it's hidden costs so much as anything optional to the core game experience is not included and has an associated price. Same with phones, tablets, anything portable. Doesn't Amazon's new kindle even separate the battery from the main unit cost? This is not that bad.
At this point I think we'll have too see if 32GB is too little storage for anyone going all-physical. Probably at some point it will be, but it depends on the size/frequency of patching, etc. It probably will be too little if you're playing all your games on Switch. A 64GB card is $22.
To me, even if you just have the base Switch unit, that's all you need to play games. Everything else is optional. It's not like you must buy an additional memory card to play physical games (like w/Vita). A Pro controller is nice but not required. Even the peripherals, though they're expensive, include cables with the Pro Controller and Charge Grip. (Sony does not and I do not think they ever have included cables with controllers. Same for Microsoft.) The Vita AC adaptor is 2 purchases - the plug that goes into the wall and then the USB to proprietary Vita piece. Switch doesn't have anything that brutal.
