Wow, the videocast reveals that Phil barely even moves his mouth when doing his crazy giggle-laugh. Or there was just a lot of lag on the cam.

That got me into anime in general as well. I watched older stuff when I was a kid but they never really grabbed me. Even DBZ was meh to me at the time. This was from Canto dubs and years before anyone in the US knew about it. Ranma's music and humor was awesome. Man, all the music was so good I bought the soundtracks.

Oh man I bought many Ranma soundtracks as well - including a bunch with radio drama stuff on them that I only vaguely got the gist of (because it's Ranma, all the interactions between characters are similar). :) I was also so into Maison Ikkoku and was so frustrated with the pace at which Viz released new tapes that I imported a bunch of the Japanese laserdiscs. Again, couldn't really understand what was going on but I got the gist. ;)

Hehe, I bought the DoCo CDs too. They were just songs sung by the voice actresses from Ranma but they used their characters on the covers like if they're in a band. The songs were actually good. I love 90's Jpop. So much better than the crap these days.

I have a DoCo laserdisc, actually. I think. It's probably in storage. Maybe. Once I move I'll be going through the boxes of stuff I have in storage and will dig those out.
 
Which is the one where Earth is attacked by Aliens with Robotech,,that them gets used by people from Earth as well, and there's this cool long-haired hero who is a pacificst, and there is some core Gaia deity / garden like thingy? It coud in favt be called Robotech, but I am not sure.

That's the first stuff I liked, anyway.

By the way chatting n the Youtube live stream looks a bit silly now all ends up as comments. What feed from viewers if any are you guys looking at while recording?

I'm pretty sure I still have my DoCo laserdisc, too. I definitely have my Urusei Yatsura movie LDs.
 
Really? Hmm. I'd totally try that if I hadn't already reclaimed my disk space from the Empire of Japan.
 
Another vote for Phil as Drippy next week because he doesn't have the range for it and his embarassing failure will end voices on the podcast for like a full 20 minutes

Why doesn't gaf have a jrpg? I don't want to play a game with a bunch of in-jokes and user names I'm not familiar with!

Good livestream this week. Unfortunately I missed Sewart's jammies :( I ran to my screen as fast as I could but it was too late...
