The power of the internet needs to bring back this gaming controller app (for Mac OS).

Back in 2021, there were articles about a little app that allowed you to use any gaming controller to control your Mac. However, it was incredible how good it worked. Every single button was customizable, the mouse pointer moved beautifully across the screen with the analog sticks, and the app UI was simple and clean. The app is called CONTROLLY

The app was made by just one person: Hugo Lispector.

At the time,I was considering buying a Mac mini since they are cheap(er), and I wanted to use my TV as monitor, but using a computer with mouse and keyboard with a big TV is bad and unconfortable (since the TV is not on the desk as a monitor). That's when I found out about this app, and I loved it, it was exactly what I wanted/needed.

I don't why, but he announced shortly after that he would not update the app anymore after the release of Big Sur and it would not work on Mac OS Monterey. I sent him and email back then, but he replied saying he wouldn't do it.

So while this app is for using your gaming controller to use the Mac and control the OS instead of playing games, I think this is an amazing way of doing it, and one that worked flawlessly. I really wish there was someone who could be able to take over and update the app. Maybe get the app rights from the owner (or I don't know if they could be open source), do something similar in hopes that it work as good as this.

This is the only app I've ever known, that makes me wish I knew programming so that I could take over and continue updating it. I would even pay a fee for the app. This app could cost $4.99 or even $9.99 and it would be extremely worth it.

You get my vote, my daughter would like to use her xbox controller on her Macbook AIR. I haven't really looked into it but sounds like you have and I'd pay an app fee for such functionality.

What do you need it for is my question? You can get apps that launch games and emulators with a controller enabled front end.
