I think my face looks better with the blanket on it. I associate it with masculinity too, and like with regular hair I can aim for a length for a desired impression. I also think it masks my age to an extent by covering countours on my face, although with graying hair I'll obviously need to reevaluate that strategy. Plus I like stroking it. Beard are cool, man.
