I disagree, I think the Rock is the superior of the two but I also think that Jericho is better than both of them.

Jericho had the best intro EVAR!

Good god the promo was beautiful. I think I may order WM. This would be the first time I ever get any sort of PPV but it feels necessary.

Can't believe some of you never experienced Rock as a bad guy. What about the NWO? The spraypainting? If you missed that..MY GOD.

Jericho and Rock are my two all time favorites, but Hulk, Razor and Diesel right at the start of NWO may have been the pinnacle. That was a time when Nitro won out.

All you Jabronis coming back right now.

WE WERE HERE ALL THE TIME.

There are those that said this day would never come. What are they to say now?

WE NEVER STOPED BELIEVING.
Congratulations on watching garbage for 8 years while hoping for a moment that the rest of us will be able to cash in on anyway, I guess. ;)

The stunner had character. It was also quick and efficient. A working man's finisher.

The people's elbow was always overblown and half the time he never had the time to drop it anyways.
Rock Bottom was the true finisher anyway.

I've not watched WWE for about 2 years, though I'm still a fan and follower of the industry.

I wacthed The Rock return. I marked. Hard.

Oh man this thread is making me teary-eyed. I remember the glory days of Rock being the heel and Stone Cold the face. And when Raw came to my town I strictly remember booing The Rock like crazy and doing the opposite for 3:16.

I like Mr. Dwayne more but still, those two...God-damn. That's my childhood right there.

I got chills when he came out to his intro music in the latest youtube video.

the miz is so god-damn embarrassing.

Damn so I head about the rock coming back and then found this topic. I stopped watching wrestling a little bit after he left.

The Miz is the champion? WHAT THE HELL IS THIS SHIT!!!

I remember him from the freaken Real World Chicago (which was awesome btw) LOL. Back then he was heavily influenced by the Rock but still seemed to have his own spin I guess.

I can't believe that he is the champion, this is crazy and so wrong. I'll watch some miz videos so see what he's like.

But since the Rock is back he will upgrade everyones personalities instantly. It's going to be a show worth watching since by what you guys say it hasn't been.

Edit: lol common the MIZ? Really?

FINALLY /rockvoice

I might order Wrestlemania this year. My God, it's been like 10 years since the last one I've cared about.

Rock is so good. It's like he's Hendrix-- everyone else can only hope to be Clapton or Page at best. He's just doing, with the same tools as everyone gets, something that's fundamentally different.

Austin, to me, was more for a different type of fan than me. The "No Fear" and "Calvin peeing on disfavored truck company logo" type. Not that he didn't do that well and wasn't ever funny-- his schtick just was aimed pretty far wide of me and obviously there was no ringwork to make up for it. And then he got put in the pokey for beating his wife. What a badass, ha. Give me chicken suit Kurt Angle or I would like to make Jesus tap Kurt Angle over Austin any day.

Rock coming back is awkward since they're going to play him off of Cena instead of someone who has a chance of holding up like CM Punk. Cena is going to get fucking buried. But that's the kind of awkward I love. I also look forward to the inevitable Rock/Santino interactions.

damn i got goosebumps when his music kicked in, WWF was my childhood and The Rock was easily my favorite wrestler. I don't think this will get me back into wrestling, but it's still awesome to see nonetheless.

So the biggest star on wwe besides the rock is john cena? thats pretty sad.
To be fair, Undertaker and HHH are also coming back in the next couple weeks, and HBK is going to be involved with Wrestlemania, so he'll likely be back too.

So all of a sudden in the next month or so we're going to have The Rock, The Undertaker, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels all back and raising hell. Plus Austin is coming back for Tough Enough, which means he'll likely be on Raw sometime before Wrestlemania too.

Going to be a brief period of totally awesome.

Both Austin and Booker T will be on Tough Enough. Get Booker more involved damnit! Give us another Rocky, Booker T and Goldust segment!

I just saw the news Marvel VS. Capcom 3 CE in my hands and the Rock returns 2011 just gets better and better. I forgot how great of an actor he is in 8 minutes it was like he never left.

Rock and Austin carried WWF attitude era. For me - it was the golden years of wrestling (sorry Hogan!)

If Austin does comeback, god damn what a show we're in for. Id love to see HHH, Austin and Rock taking over and showing those pretenders how its really done.

Wrestlemania Rock vs Hogan is the greatest match i've ever seen.

Hogan was great but I agree Rock and Austin combo was the best era of WWF to me. No one sold the stunner like the Rock. No one. It was great to have two guy who could draw such huge crowd reaction at the same time.

INCEPTION

Although there are certainly fans that loved the verbal beating of Cena on Monday by Rock, I hope there is something more than completely ripping into the face of the company for the past few years. So the Rock, who has been missing for 7 years, has ripped into a guy who's busted his ass for 7 years in about 7 minutes of verbal attacks (give or take).

I like Cena. I don't love his character like I do the Rock or Stone Cold. I just hope they go somewhere that allows both characters (Rock and Cena) to mutually benefit.

Uh, what? Austin was great in the ring. And of the insanely popular franchise players (Austin, Rock, Hogan, NWO, etc), he was light-years ahead of anyone else. He was putting on 4 or 5 star matches up until he left in...2002 was it. Before he returned for the one-off with the Rock.

Austin was one of the best before his injuries and still managed to put on amazing matches after his neck broke.

I don't understand why some people underscored Austin's ringwork, or The Rock's for that matter.

Yeah, Rocky was a great worker too as far as work-rate, timing and match-flow. He just had a more limited move-set and relied more on showmanship than psychology (ie, selling throughout a match). Which is great, but he needed somebody who could really work to bring the best out in him. Guys like Austin, or HHH (at least in 2000).

Austin, on the other-hand, could go however you wanted. If you wanted to brawl, Austin could make that work. If you wanted to get technical, Austin could throw suplexes with the best of them. If you wanted to tell a story in the ring, Austin had the psychology thing down do.

God Damn, I was never really big into wrestling way back when, but I did like me some Rock and Austin.

Rock Returning forced a grin onto my face like nothing else.

:D
